Detailed Reviews
The Good.
Me and my partner stayed here for four nights, we will definitely be back. The camp site is well set out with tents being the lowest on the hill side, providing an excellently sheltered pitch surrounded by trees. The site is a 5 minute walk from the falls which can be heard from the site. (Amazing to fall asleep to)
On site facilities are always fantastically clean and well kept which is brilliant. Extra toilets are available in the hotel.
Overall the site is lovely and peaceful which allowed us a nice relaxing stay. It has a fantastic location which gave us plenty to do. Lots of walks can be started right from the sites front doorstep and the nearby towns of Hawes and Leyburn are only a short drive away.
Pub staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is incredible and drinks reasonably priced. Plenty of seating in the bar area and outdoors.
The not so good.
For our first two nights there were relatively few people on the site which meant the facilities coped perfectly. Two garden sheds have toilets, two sheds are showers, three sinks and drinking water points are located next to each other. Unfortunately later on in the stay the site became full and these facilities could have been improved.
Sinks.
It would be nice to have the sinks under a covered area to make washing up in the rain a little more pleasant
Toilets.
While extra toilets are provided in the hotel, two to serve all the caravan and camping site wasn’t really enough.
Showers.
Again, two showers aren’t really enough for this site. When multiple showers, toilets and sinks are in use the water pressure isn’t enough and such the showers tend to not work very well.
Campers,
Unfortunately later on in the stay a mixed group of young adults arrived with multiple tents and a gazebo and were often loud which somewhat upset the overall tranquility of this beautiful site.
Summary
This is a beautiful, well sheltered site with an excellent pub/hotel and very friendly staff. Lots to do in the local area and an nice ambience from the nearby waterfalls. It would be nice in the coming years to see the facilities improved, better water pressure, more showers and toilets. It would also be nice if it was considered to ban large multi home groups.
Otherwise this is a nearly perfect site and a joy to camp at. A credit to its owners.

+1
Upon arrival of this hotel it was absolutley beautiful from the outside with all the autumn leaves covering the front of the building and lovely view across the fields of the dales. I wondered in and was greeted by two friendly lads, one which got me checked in straight away. The room was was clean, cosy and by the looks of it a brand new modern bathroom (shower was amazing, i had 3 in 24hrs lol) tea & coffee facilities in the room was a nice touch along with the packs of biccies. I wondered down to brekkie at 8am and had my choice of table, so i sat by the window and soaked up the views while eating my incredible brekkie. Location of the hotel is perfect for the falls which is less than 10 minutes to the upper falls and then follow it through to the middle and lower falls, took me just an hour there and back, just in time for another shower before checkout 😁 bus stops are right outside the hotel or 10 mins up the road, direct to Hawes. All in all aysgarth falls hotel was a lovely stay and i shall return next year at some point. Thankyou guys it was a pleasure.

We recently had a long weekend here at the Aysgarth Falls Hotel just after reopening from Lockdown.
I have to say we felt safe and welcomed from arriving to departing. Check in was swift and efficient and we were showed to our room on the second floor. No lifts as you would expects so be aware there are a few steps to climb.
The room was spotlessly clean and everything we could need from extra towels, to tea and coffee.
The view from the window looked out over the camping area and up to the dales far beyond, no a bad view in our opinion.
A fan was provided if things got too warm in the night and plenty of heaters should it turn cool.
Breakfast was all served a-la-cart a a great start to the day. Dinner in the evening as you are kind of a captive audience needs to be booked in advance, which we understood due to the new 'normal'. Not a problem.
We thought the pricing was a little on the steep side however that said, you certainly will not go hungry as the portions are huge. We had starters on the first night as well as main, but on the second night we skipped starter.
The wine with dinner I have to note was of a reasonable price and a good bottle of Chardonnay on offer.
Staff were all very pleasant from start to finish,
Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Just recently my wife and I stayed for a long weekend at the Aysgarth Falls Hotel. What a wonderful place! The location is excellent, situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park about 300 yards from Aysgarth Falls themselves. There are numerous public footpaths criss crossing the area which makes it an ideal starting point for walking/hiking. The view from our room was epic, across the river Ure valley we could see from Bolton Castle in the east all the way to Great Shunner Fell in the west. The room itself was clean and tidy with ample facilities, a great shower/wet room and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was included with the room and was served in the hotel restaurant from 08:00 till 09:30. The cooked breakfast was superb whilst the Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs were very generous! We had dinner in the restaurant three times and the food was stunning, one of the nicest steaks I've ever had and Sunday lunch was also very good. Definitely worth every penny.
We will be back to stay here again hopefully in the very near future and we will be bringing our friends. An absolute gem of a place. 😁

We stayed in the hotel for one night when visiting Bolton Castle. The room was big and comfortable with facilities to make hot drinks, the bathroom was very big with a separate bath and shower and two wash basins. Everything was clean and a lovely view over the countryside, There was plenty of parking and checking in was very easy, everyone was friendly and helpful.
We ate in the restaurant in the evening but were a bit disappointed by the range of food on the menu, the fish and chips were very nice though. Breakfast was cooked to order with a small selection of extras.
The location was excellent for visiting the falls.

Arriving just as a blizzard was at it's fiercest, we were welcomed with a log fire and great staff. I immediately felt at home, we were shown to our room and given an extra heater in case we were cold. The food was excellent, as were the views from the restaurant and our bedroom. To top it all, for me at least, in a small room just off the bar, we met Floss, a border collie rescue dog. The morning after I finished up playing at ball with her in the snow in her garden, wonderful,we'll be back.

Our stay at Aysgarth Falls Hotel was due to a gift voucher from our son and daughter in law. What a great gift. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to return. The hotel was warm, comfortable, clean and the staff very welcoming and pleasant. On arrival we were immediately offered help carrying our bags upstairs (sadly not offered at many hotels nowadays) and given concise and informative information on everything we needed to know .
The dining room has a nice view over the gardens and serves a wide range of excellent meals . Although the portions are huge! Personally I found the Caesar salad with chicken a more than adequate evening meal. Breakfast ranges from full English through to Continental with a wide choice of cereals etc on offer. Five stars for meals. Both my wife and I were impressed with the staff and their obvious desire to please guests. This was especially impressive when we learned how short staffed they were.
The hotel overall is looking a little 'tired' and needs some investment in time and money to redress some of the decor. Whilst I full appreciate the character of the building, cracked floor tiles in the lower entrance way and worn through paint need redressing. Our room had sufficient electrical sockets and was well provided with complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee. I would suggest that the sockets be replaced with sockets that also have USB outlets. So many people have a number of items that can be recharged via USB as opposed to 240v mains.
So, would we stay at Aysgarth Falls Hotel again?........
Yes, in a heartbeat.
Be patient with the staff and accept that they are trying their very hardest and are genuinely very nice people.

We spent two nights in the family room in February. The room was very comfortable with a great sized bath and was very well laid out with a separate room with two single beds. Couldn't fault the food, the evening menu was excellent along with the breakfast, it was all very delicious. This hotel is highly recommended and is a perfect base for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.

We arrived expecting a relaxing campsite with nice facilities, as we had paid £35 for the pitch, when we arrived the Barman always a little short with us and was not really interested in the camping side, there was a mix up with the pitch but this was sorted and we set things up. The site it’s self was good, level and what you would expect. we then investigated the facilities and could not really believe what we saw, the facilities are two toilets and two showers which are situated in there own sheds, basic is the nicest thing I can say about them, there was no had wash, and they serve the whole of the campsite, it is not enough, the showers are extremely unhygienic, again situated in a shed, we felt them totally not fit for purpose, to the extent we did not use them, again just two for the whole site. The washing up facilities, are open to the elements, they are two old kitchen stainless steel sinks just plumbed in, we were so disappointed with the site that we decided not to stay for the second night, that we had already paid for, as it just all felt very tired and dirty. I would not recommend this site to anyone and would encourage people to avoid it, there are much better sites for cheaper elsewhere. Please stop charging excessive amounts and build a decent ablution block!!

Yep, we had one but you’d only need ask, the staff are great.
We do have a lockable garage which is often used to store bikes - no problem.
Hope to meet you soon,
Heather
Hello! Yes we do welcome dogs into the bar area, where you can also eat as well as drink. We also now have two pet friendly rooms which are 25 metres away from the main building (breakfast is still in the main dining room).
Hope to see you and your four legged friend/s soon.
