Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This is our experience not a guide to this park. Caravan was great. Can't fault it. Entertainment must be good as was always busy. (We don't go to the entertainment.) Pools were also good and plenty of activities for everyone. The little fair is good enough. Go karts are very fun. Although bit of advice. Avoid the blue one. It's the slowest. Haha. Mini golf is ok too. Restaurant has good food. Bit pricey but was very nice. Expected tbh so didn't mind paying. The following is why it doesn't get 5 stars. Parking infrastructure is abysmal. Especially in bad weather when you are told to keep off the grass next to the caravan. (All vans should have concrete outside to park on.) The amount of cars for spaces is worse than pathetic. Burger king and pappa johns are normally priced but the chippy!!! WOW £3.57 for a sausage. I don't need to say anymore. Was gutted the Starbucks has gone and a Slim Chickens is there instead. The Costa machines in the shop are just as bad as the ones in petrol stations. (Oh the shop is well stocked and not too pricey. Which is a plus). And the cherry on the top of the bad points. The arcades. While there are plenty of games, machines and all the other stuff they should have, the actual cost to get the tokens for prizes!!!! Oh my days. The selection of prizes is very poor. But the "cost in tokens" is higher than the Bhurj Khalifa. 150 for the small pack of love hearts. In which you get 5 sweets. Woeful. Other than that being in a great location and easy access to areas all around this park could quite easily have a 5 star.

Just back from primrose valley and despite the weather we still had a good time. The Wetherspoons is a great addition and the arcade is good. We were at the newer end of the park with a sea view. The caravan was lovely and clean however a few negatives. There is a walk way that runs from the houses next to the park directly past these caravans and with glass balustrade you had 0 privacy on the decking. Please also beware that there is little to no phone service on site so unless you are lucky enough to have a caravan with wifi installed you will have no internet service until you are within the complex.

A 50/50 review I’m afraid… Negatives: -caravan was filthy on arrival (but cleaner arrived within 30 minutes of my completing the ‘check in’ and cleaned) we also did receive some vouchers so that was appreciated. -around our caravan was filthy. Old bags of dog poo, screws and nails. -amenities need a touch up. Looking rather run down. -the splash pool needs some work and up keep. Positives: -wonderful location. -lots to do -staff very friendly. -Lakehouse restaurant is wonderful. Big portions, lovely food and reasonably priced. -arcades is brilliant. -our caravan was in a great location -the beach is gorgeous and sandy! Overall, we did have a lovely week and would return. My little boy had a fantastic time and we did as-well. The location of the park is also good, driving distance to Whitby, Scarborough. A recommendation would defo be visiting the FallenFoss Tea Garden - gorgeous walk, waterfalls and amazing scones!!

The first night we had no gas . So no central heating + hot water + cooking facilities . This was reported to reception the next morning and rectified by the time we returned from a day out in Whitby. The second night my wife returned from the arcade with our 9 year old grandson and attempted to cook ravioli on toast . Seconds into turning the toaster on all the electric blew . Reception not available at that time so we rang security who were fantastic . They came out straight away but was not able to sort out the electrics . The only option was to move us to another caravan which really wasn’t up to standard . It was impossible to get to the front door without getting covered in sludge . Parts of the kitchen units were falling apart . The front room had stains all over the radiator . The shower head was dangling down as the bracket was broken and to top it off when I got the saucepan out to cook breakfast it was filthy with what looked like egg remains on it . Really not impressed and hope they will give us a better alternative for the rest of our stay

The worst campsite we have ever stayed at, the site was filthy the amenities on the touring site were disgusting and the guests had no respect for anyone’s property and the wardens didn’t care either, I wouldn’t bother staying here if you take pride in your vehicles/caravans

Absolutely brilliant Fri to Monday stay just returned! Family of 20 The park is massive so be prepared to get your steps in dependant on where you are situated. We were in 3 the tern 👌🏻👌🏻 gorgeous gold caravan, lovely and clean. Was panicking abit being furthest away from rest of fam but the location was lovely and quiet and away from hustle and bustle with a little play park for the kids and a lake opposite the caravan. Weatherspoons food was absolutely spot on. Lake house was lovely and nice but found the food better in weatherspoons personally. Also the table service from the takeaways like burgers king slim chicken etc was excellent straight to table in the live lounge if you just wanted a picky tea rather than meal in restaurants. Plenty in the arcades to keep the kids entertained. The activities we booked were brilliant although 3 got cancelled due to the high winds so awaiting refunds. Shop on site was very well equipped for everything you need including toilet roll! Haven only provides 1 for arrival then buy/bring your own after all you are self catering! The whole place was very clean considering the amount of people that was there. All staff very friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to return again ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend

The site was OK, staff friendly and welcoming. I was recommended this site by my friend who lives in the area. The caravan was nice, lots of amenities&I would stay again. Only gripe was it was very busy so not enough parking&the queue to get into the entertainment in both bars wasnt ideal. This is the only site I've experienced this in but atleast it is a popular place.

Absolutely awesome time at prim rose! The events where great, and their was some awesome food shacks nearby! Not too mention the staff members where great including an awesome member of staff called Aaron. As a family he made our time on the archery station that much fun. (Even though are skills were somewhat questionable. However he was patient fun, and made the new experience that much better Credit to all staff especially Aaron. If in primrose be sure to try out the archery!

Came for the bank holiday weekend and enjoyed the trip. Caravan was lovely, clean warm and comfortable. We had 8 people in our party so that's an actual in itself! The road leading to the caravan was narrow and long and of a car was coming the other way there is no space to pass each other, really not thought through. Also the outside of the caravan is not set up to park outside, no hard standing for the cars so puddles and mud everywhere. This is also caused by the caravans pointless drain pipes, the guttering and drain pipes are not connected to any drain or soak away and the water just runs straight onto the floor, electric boxes or whatever is underneath. This is all the caravans on the site seems really silly tbh. The lighting on the site is bad at night, really dark and lots of the park lights not working. We didn't have play passes so didn't use the swimming pool or activities. Wether spoons are on there but every time we went to go in it was full and we were not allowed entry, this is at different times in the day. So can't comment on the inside but clearly need a system there to allow more people to go in, especially for a site of this size. The arcade is busy. The 2p machines are worn, and lots with the coin parts blocked. The prizes are tiny plastic bugs, and things you'd put in party bags, not great. However it was clean including the toilets especially with how busy it was. Papa John's and slim chickens really nice, but cooks is not worth the money, it was really awful and extremely overpriced. The shop offers lots of items and reasonably priced. Check-in and check out really easy. Great location for a base to visit the surrounding areas, would stay again definitely.
