We have stayed at Centenary Way quite a few times over the years because of the location and spacious pitches, we decided to go this year as we now have grandchildren and knew there was a big field for them to run about in.
It didn't disappoint on either of those but the big let down is the total lack of imagination for the little park area where there is a slide, some swings a roundabout which is only suitable for older children and a climbing frame. It could be so much better, we ended up going to the play park on the site next door.
The showers are another issue! There are only 4 showers, it's basically a portable unit, so nowhere to shelter while you wait, totally inadequate room inside especially when you're trying to shower the kids, we ended up sitting them in a bowl outside the tent! A shower curtain that sticks at every possible moment so much so that it was best to shower with it pushed back oh and leave your flipflops outside the door to let people know you're in there as the locks don't work properly.
On the other hand the location is fantastic, a short walk to Filey and train ride to Scarborough/Bridlington and surrounding areas are all within easy reach. I would recommend this site if you can put up with the shower situation and the general grumpiness of the owner.

Just been for two nights at this camp site. We have stayed before and its a lovely site easy walk into Filey. This experience wasn't as good due to the owners stance on keeping the toilets and showers closed. We have a tent but have a portable toilet but two nights was enough due to this. I was surprised they didn't offer any reduction for this and was sure when I rang to book I was told a different (cheaper price). When I raised it when checking in I was greeted with the response we are losing money as if it is was my fault rather than due to their stance There were 3 tents in our field and 2 in the next field and the hard standing appeared to be running at only a third occupancy so I would imagine that is an incredible amount of monies lost. We have camped in the dales since sites have been open and the facilities were open. Family a friends have also camped in other places. None of us have contracted covid or been contact in regard to others. It's a shame as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay when we came a couple of years ago and given how full other sites have been that a previously good site is losing out

We went camping as a family of ten in the grass section which was a good area as children have a playground. The toilets and showers need updating, the shower head is not adjustable and the water pressure is low. The water was lukewarm as well and the shelving in the cubicle was not clean every time l used it. Fortunately l brought some Dettol antibacterial spray for the shower and toilet. Cleaning is only done once a day which is minimal( l would expect cleaning to be done at least three times a day, even without covid). There are not enough showers and toilets for the site, handwash ran out on the first evening we arrived. Cleaning only occurs from 1- 2pm , there is only one handwash dispenser in the toilet. Overall l would not return due to the toilet and shower situation and the lack of frequent cleaning.

We stayed for 4 nights first week In June. Busy but site felt calm and relaxed. Also great location to walk to the beach from (10 min on paths) or in to town. (15min)

Well kept site with nice area to walk dogs where they can be let off and go through a narrow maze like woodland , which our dog loved.

Facilities were clean and adequate for what we needed. There’s a small play area and place to run about for children as well as a sweet little fairy garden area with seating which was closed presumably because of Covid.

We were in a motorhome and had a nice flat pitch so really easy. There’s a nice little field at the back for smaller tents.

We would return here. It’s a cash only or pay by cheque site. No WiFi but 4g wasn’t too bad. Download anything you need before going.

Not a great start when got balled out for putting a wheel on the grass. "Can't you bloody read? There are signs about driving on the grass". I hadn't and there were other cars parked on the grass for the whole weekend so I guess nothing was said to them!.

The location is great on the cliffs about five minute walk from the beach, Filey was great.

The site toilet block was tired and in need of some renovation, and the showers were very poor in a workman's welfare trailer.

The dog walk had loads of dog mess and cigarette ends all around it.

In this day and age plenty more sites to visit so will not be returning.

Lovely weekend nice site, good pitches even though gravel, facilities are good all considered shower pods could be a bit warmer and more powerful, but the owners have adapted to the situation and given us the chance of a few days away.

Short walk into Filey the ship inn was a friendly spot to sit out with my little boy and enjoy a drink, San Marcos was fantastic good food and service, very reasonably priced.

Filey is a bit more relaxed than some of its neighbours but it met all our needs, nice walks just rough to occupy the early evening.

Very well maintained site in a great location. Toilets currently closed due to Covid. Pitches were well spaced out and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere.
We have family in Filey, so when we stay we spend very little time on site. I do think the playground is a little dated though and if we were to play longer on site the kids would be bored, but you’re at the coast with miles of glorious beaches to enjoy! Great location to walk into town very easily. Lovely first trip in our new campervan.

After a 3 hour journey we arrived at 12.50pm to find that the shed/reception wasn't open. OK this was 10 minutes before the 1pm check in time but it gets worse.
We were allocated a pitch in the tent field next to some other families.
We started setting the tent up and a man on a sit on mower was attempting to cut the grass around our tent? I had my 11 year old son with me so I told him to stay by our car until the man had finished.
After spending our 1st night at the site we were annoyingly woken by seagulls at 4.55am that appeared to be scavenging from a building site directly behind the tent field, the squawking seagulls carried on for at least an hour.
At 7am we were woken again by a train due to the track being very close to the site.
To top it all off we were then woken again at 7.20am by some workmen banging and a lorry delivery at the building site behind us.
On our second night it was pretty much the same scenario as the first - woken again by seagulls at 5am, the train at 7.00am and at 7.15am woken by workmen talking loudly to each other and hammering on the building site.

I do have more photo's if needed.

We had a peaceful and pleasant stay yet we were not as impressed with the place as we thought we would be. The bathrooms as you can see(the photo's are the women's bathroom) are fithfy, obviously this is accepted as there are people who stay in tents on site, yet if you clean it an hour a day I would not accept it to be like this. When you walk in after putting a 4 digit code into a lock you see a towel all screwed up on the floor always dirty. For the bathrooms being cleaned an hour a day this is pretty poor. As for the waste disposal, the toilet you use to pour away waste was disgusting, it should of been cleaned. The bins do have a sign(seen in the pictures) saying what you cannot put in the bins, yet at the side of them(not in the pictures sorry🙈) there is a huge skip were people would throw their rubbish, my advice would be to take away all of the bins and leave the skip for people to use. There is a little cafe known as the fairy garden which is absolutely lovely(I do have pictures if needed) yet I feel it should much bigger because if word spreads and it is all full at one time, there is a little walk way to filey were they would just go instead and then they would lose customers. Yet on a more positive note there is a astonishing yet beautiful walk down to filey were you can see some donkeys and have some breathtaking views. Now if you are campers, the pot washing sinks were not very clean and not very highgenic, we did not use them because of these reasons.
(Ps be aware there is a price for 6 mins in the shower)
Overall a nice stay for five nights, however we would only do a small stay there.
