Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Jim & Alison are fantastic hosts. They are so warm, friendly and very welcoming. You feel like you’re staying at a friend’s house. The bedroom was spacious, very comfortable & well appointed. Big towels in the bathroom is always my favourite! Breakfast was delicious, freshly made every morning and we’d leave the table full & satisfied! We highly recommend White Rose and look forward to our return.

Property's Favourite Review
My wife and I stayed for two nights at the White Rose Guest House at the end of August. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Alison, our room was spacious, very nicely furnished and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom in particular was well appointed and modern. Everything was spotlessly clean and the owners provided bottled water and a selection of hot drinks in the room. Breakfast was included and was superb. Cooked to order with a great selection (there's even a complimentary appetizer). The guest house is just a few minutes walk from Filey's lovely beach and the town centre. Off street parking is a real bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and chatting to our hosts Alison and Jim and would highly recommend White Rose Guest House.

Everything you could want in a seaside B&B - friendly and helpful hosts, immaculately clean rooms, a comfy bed and a truly delicious breakfast. There’s ample off-road parking and it’s just a few minutes walk into the centre or to the beach. Filey is a lovely little town with a wide selection of restaurants. If you want to explore the area there are plenty of places to see, but we would recommend the short drive to the RSPB Bempton Cliffs for fantastic bird-watching and then Flamborough Head where we saw a beach covered in basking seals! If you like walking, Filey is the ideal starting point for some beautiful coastland or inland routes - or stop off for a good night’s rest at the White Rose if you’re doing the Cleveland Way. We had read many people go back to the White Rose and now we know why!

A pleasant, comfortable and quite place to stay. The breakfasts are prepared at a time of your choosing and you have a menu to pick from so everyone should start the day with a fine breakfast prepared just for themselves. Smart well appointed rooms and friendly owners meant this was our second stay and we will go back.

Absolutely brilliant and no hesitation in recommending. Super room, immaculately clean, excellent breakfast, friendly hosts and great location for beach and town centre. This was a return visit and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Filey. A++

This was our second stay and definitely won't be our last! After parking the car in the dedicated parking area Jim & Alison welcomed us on arrival and showed us to our room which was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. Having stayed there previously we chatted for a while before resting prior to visiting one of the many superb local restaurants which Jim and Alison had recommended which we thoroughly enjoyed. The Yorkshire breakfast was superb with locally sourced sausage and bacon and individually cooked for each guest and there is always the extra taster prior to the main event. The guest house is conveniently located near all amenities including shops, restaurants and the beach all an easy walk away. This is a real gem and you couldn't ask for better hosts in Alison and Jim. We look forward to our next visit in the near future Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful guest house with the friendliest hosts. Everything about it was perfect. The free parking was a bonus too! Our room was clean and cosy with everything we needed for our 2-night stay. The guest lounge is warm and inviting, with books and board games if you stay in on an evening. The breakfasts were perfect, with beautifully prepared little appetisers and lovely choices on the menu. We hugely recommend Jim's omelettes - my cheese and mushroom one was absolutely delicious! White Rose is one of the best guest houses we've ever stayed in. Hugely recommended. We can't wait to come back!
