Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely little guest house, close to plenty of pubs and restaurants. Ideal location, across road from bus/train station. Pete made us feel very welcome. Amazing breakfast. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Filey 😊

We have just returned from a great weekend in Filey celebrating my Brothers 60th Birthday. As his house was full we chose to stay at the Daffodil. What a lovely little Guesthouse, the room was nice and clean and well appointed and the ceiling fan was a welcome bonus for the two hot nights we stayed and helped us enjoy a good nights sleep in the comfy bed. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and it was all topped off by the owner Peter, who is a really friendly, helpful guy who we enjoyed chatting to over the weekend. We shall return.

This is the second time we have stayed here as a family. Peter and Lisa are really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Lisa and Peter were so good with our daughters and our dog. The room was great and the facilities were also great the detail in the decor is exquisite and the breakfast is freshly cooked nothing is to much trouble for Lisa and Peter. Such genuine nice friendly people Thank-you so much and we look forward to booking again soon.

The room decor was lovely, I had a single room as a solo traveller and needed the room for work and WiFi, which I can say did the job perfectly. The room was a very good size, lovely shower and extra blankets, cushion, towels, tea and coffee plus television. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Although it is a dog friendly hotel, the room was spotless and I didn’t see any dogs on my visit. Peter was very accommodating and made sure I had everything I needed. If I had to say anything negative it would be that the lady owner did not greet or acknowledge me when she entered the dining room which made me feel slightly uncomfortable but besides that everything was lovely. I parked on the street near the station just opposite so didn’t incur any parking charges, I’m sure Peter would advise you if needed to find a spot to park. Tesco very close as is the beach.

We had a short stay at the Daffodil Guest house before Christmas and everyone had a great time. Peter and Lisa are very friendly and professional and it’s a great location to enjoy Filey from. I would definitely recommend this friendly B & B to anyone.

Clean, well furnished room, and Peter and Lisa were friendly to both humans and dogs (!). Central location, good breakfast, including a decent vegetarian one. On street parking was easy but I guess could be a problem in high season. Filey itself was largely shut ( a rainy midweek in January ) but we’ll be having a return when the town is a bit more open.

Our first stay at the Daffodil definitely left us wanting to return. Location is perfect for public transport. Parking is on street nearby. very short walk into town, no real issue with traffic noise. We were made very welcome and were comfortable throughout our visit. It will be top of the list next time we stay on the east coast.

Really nice stay at this hotel , the owners were lovely & made us feel very welcome, the full English breakfast was very nice, not massive or too little, just right to start the day off. The room was great, tv, kettle, shower. The location was perfect! Just on the edge of town, shops & chippy just a very short walk away, the beach was around 10 mins walk. Beds are comfy, I had a really nice weekend in Filey & the accommodation was great too so Thankyou
