Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Filey Brigg is a lovely situated site right on the cliffs with a track down to the beach or an easy walk into town. It is looking a little bit tired and dated now but the showers and loos were clean. One obvious no no we did notice was the drinking water near reception was a hosepipe on a reel😱 I doubt it was food grade and whilst we we’re watching two staff came out unwound it, threw the nozzle on the ground - it fell in a puddle left by grey water emptying point - cut a piece of hose off and rewound it. Think the staff need education on basic hygiene! We definitely didn’t use the hose🤮but walked across to the other water point in the middle of the site which wasn’t ideal. There is no drop off point for Motorhome grey water so people were told to drop it in the vicinity of the grate nr the washing up area. Again not ideal. Come on Scarborough Council spend a bit of money on upgrading the site I’m sure it earns you enough.

We found out about the building works by email 2 days before arriving on site. Check in was quick and our pitch was hard standing under trees. Birds made a right mess of our awning. The branches could do to be cut back a bit. Other reviews have said that facilities were dirty but that is not the case. We used our own but friends used on site and said how clean they were at any time of the day although they did mention the mop and bucket not being changed. Building work starts between 8.15 and 8.30 and can be really loud. The car was covered in dust. Someone had previously comment about the amount of rubbish being left but we saw refuse collections twice in a week. What I do find strange is no recycling. We would return to this site but would want grass pitch away from the trees. It’s in a good position to get into Filey although the walk from the site down to the beach is steep, I have to hold onto the hand rail then my husband. Train to Scarborough was a lovely way to spend a day. Cannot comment on the cafe as we didn’t use it but always had plenty of people sat outside.

Stay here every year disappointed wanted all money up front when booking asked about refund as was having problems getting m o t was told depends on circumstances tried to get refund as failed m o t apparantly no Motorhome is not a good enough reason. It’s not a cheap site in fact for facilities very expensive about time money was ploughed back into shower block although clean very dated. The grass cutter came round most days or a strimmer and left all the grass nightmare with dogs. The cafe very expensive and bland cheap ingredients had a dry bread bacon sandwich with some sort of brown tar sauce nothing like HP the dogs liked the sandwich such a shame as had a bacon sandwich every day last year. Ice cream nice. Carnt beat location Council taking advantage of this and not offering much more.

During this time I would have expected less people due to it being a council run site as they are hot on policies and procedures. Reception gave me a scrap of paper not explaining where any of the facilities are I believe there are only three sinks servicing the whole campsite. I stumbled upon a couple of drinking water taps on the lower field of which I hoped they were, as not signed. The bins were overflowing. The toilets were not cleaned and sanitised as noted on the inspection although the pen is mightier than the sword. A bucket of water had been left there for two days and when emptied the muck was left in the bucket. My girls warned me of the showers and that they wouldn't take their flip flops off so cleaned the shower with my own products before proceeding I have been to much busier sites before they close the block and you are directed to another block if you need to use facilities during that time. Whoever was on on Thursday morning they need a rise as they actually cleaned well done! Come on Scarborough council with a bit more thought and planning this could be good and invest that money back into the site!!

So, this site has open access to anyone, no security, next to two very large carparks, no fences just barriers at the reception. Anyone could snatch your kids and never be seen. The site is full of mole hills these are dangerous for the elderly. The people on reception ask your name, give you a slip of paper and point you in the general direction to your pitch. It’s like there rear end is glued to the chair. There is no security on site, you pitch up and hope you are not invading the next very close pitch. The electric hook ups are not maintained, just looking at them makes you worry. Once set up, you don’t your adventure gear and go on a expedition to find facilities, basic but clean toilet blocks, a credit to the cleaners. There’s a cafe no opening times displayed, nothing else. Thats it it’s a field an open field at that with 2 toilet blocks, a reception keen on taking your money and nothing else, at over £30 a night it’s an expensive field with toilet blocks. It’s also fine by the owners if a woman and kid plays with a bat and hard ball close to your £50,000 new camper van after all she says she doesn’t give a sh*t, she had a 20 year old beaten up rusting people carrier and a £150.00 tent. That explains a lot. For the money they make is it that hard to have a walk around checking the people are keeping to simple rules? Is it that expensive to put a fence around the park making it safe? And a little acitone will separate the superglue on the receptionists chair from her rear.

DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMPSITE!
Booked online and paid upfront, received email confirmation followed two emails advising us of building work nearby. They weren't kidding. Huge excavator all day. Noise, dust, diesel and groundworker yelling over it all at each other. It all starts at 8:00am prompt and there is no letup.
It is sporadically interrupted by 'The lawn mower man'. He arrives every day and mows the same grass over and over.
Don't attempt to have your lunch outside unless you like fumes, dust or grass cuttings on your sandwiches.
If it a quiet break away you are seeking to read a book or relax with your family this isn't the site for you. If however, you like you like construction sites you love it here.
Spoke to the young assist on reception who couldn't be less interested, didn't even have the courtesy to listen to me and sympathize. She just talked over me and told me if I had a complaint to email the 'offsite manager'.
We did pack up and leave early and moved to The Crows Nest down the road at our expense. A fabulous site by the way.
The only positive was the toilets were clean.

booked in for 2 nights with 3 other people with caravans hoping to be near each other. But was told they were full and we had to be at the other end of park. Wasn’t told that we needed fob to be able to use facilities E.g. toilet - shower block (luckerly we didn’t need the facility as we had a small american motorhome (9meters)). The lady on reception made us go to the far side of campsite away from friends as she didn’t believe the size. she told us that they were fully booked although we counted 24 empty parking spaces in the section of the campsite where we where and loads more where our friends were. We were told somebody was coming into the slot next to us and if they couldn’t get in we would have to leave site to let them in. Nobody turned up ! Lied to by staff. Told not to come again because of our size although on website it takes 9 meters which we are. Very easy to manoeuvre into parking bay on grass. Staff rude and unhelpful one of our friends also complained about rude staff. Shame as area is very beautiful. Unhelpful staff making a very pleasant campsite miserable. Scarbrough county council letting Filey down by not checking their staff and sending them on customer care courses!! and reading reviews.

What a shame I am having to write this review. We have visited this country park on many occasions which is absolutely brilliant for dog walking and allowing them to run freely. Brilliant access to the beach and stunning views. Because we were so pleased with the park area we decided to enquire about the touring site situated next to the park as all my family have touring vans.

Bad points -

1) My mother was extremely upset today as when she entered the office at the site she was greated by what can only be described as an extremely unhelpful and rude receptionist. My mother asked for some information about the site to then be told "it's all in the book" which was rudley shoved across the counter. She then continued to have a telephone conversation with no interest in discussing anything with my parents or asking them to take a seat until her phonecall finished.

2) Extremely expensive so unless you don't mind paying over the odds do not even think about booking here.

Such a shame the customer service was so poor and the prices so high. If this was not the case we would have definitely booked into this site but not now as customer service is the first point of call.

Just spent a week on this Caravan Site and need to say that we were really disappointed ....only 10 amp Electric just isn't good enough for the price we paid for our pitch ! ....plus the site is very badly lit , also could do with Hard Standings ( we saw quite a few Motor homes and Caravans get stuck on the boggy ground ) ......such a shame because the Site is in a Fab Location .

The site was easy to find, large, and well maintained. Check in was easy, with a map of the site, with our pitch marked given to us. The pitch was a good size, with plenty of room. Bins were placed around the site, and water and chemical toilet facilities were well signed.
We were told tat it was a short walk into town, and given directions. The showers were clean, and a good size.
Recommended.
