Last minute booking, arrived to a warm welcome at a beautifully presented, comfortable set of rooms. Spotlessly clean, well thought out decor and furnishings - felt immediately at home! Pre dinner drinks served by an open fire with delicious canapés, chose the Market Menu which did not disappoint. Lovely waiting staff, polite without being stuffy. Slept well, had a morning... More

I parked directly outside We had premeal (non alcoholic) drinks in a comfortable lounge We ate in the bar but that was fine as it was a lovely meal in genteel surroundings, with a log fire Good service Not cheap but worth every penny

Myself and my wife achieved a long held desire by recently staying overnight in the venue, rather than just attending for a bar lunch. During the numerous times we have visited previously, we had in our minds what it may be like to be a resident, and would the reality match our expectations. Our expectations were not only matched, but... More

This place just ticks the boxes! Actually I'd been a guest in a party staying about a year before and was so impressed with the overall comfort and easy, efficient and friendly hospitality that I booked my own party of friends for dinner and an overnight stay. It's hard to give 5 stars but despite no dogs allowed in (understandable,... More

As we were meeting a friend who lives at the other end of the county, we chose to have lunch at the Pheasant at Harome, which is about half way. I was really looking forward to our meal - some nice fine-dining, I thought - but it wasn't to be. The furnishing and decor at the Pheasant are really nice;... More

A warm welcome by all of the staff, fantastic food and a delightful setting. We have really enjoyed being entertained and beautifully served by Liam. The new refurbishment is very tasteful. The bedrooms are very comfortable and warm. A first class break.

Stayed over night as we were attending my nephew's wedding in Harome. Wow....what a find. Absolutely beautiful. We had lunch in the Pheasant and were not disappointed. We expected a room and were given an apartment....and on top of all that, the staff were brilliant. A real gem of a find. We'll be going back for sure.

stayed here for 2 nights for a friends wedding and overall a beautiful place but expensive for accommodation and drinks I would recommend to stay yes but options for myself would be not to stay again unless I had to. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, over looking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, the Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms which each have two bedrooms and the heated indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors - designed by Director Jacquie Pern - give the accommodation a homely and welcome feel, which continues throughout the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink. The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food under the capable hands of Chef/Director Peter Neville. Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a fixed price daily Market Menu, the A la Carte, and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package. The Pheasant has been awarded Welcome to Yorkshire's "Small Hotel of the Year 2016". In 2014 The Pheasant was awarded the Yorkshire Life "Small but Special Accommodation" Award. The Hotel has recently been awarded Three AA Red Stars Inspectors' Choice Country House Hotel. Seasonal and special breaks are available throughout the year. ... more   less
