We decided to have a last minute night away in this lovely part of Yorkshire. On a Frosty day the room was lovely & warm, our bed was nice and comfortable and breakfast was really good before our walk up to the waterfall.

Friendly staff, good food and range of local ales. Comfortable rooms with good facilities. A good centre for exploring the North Yorkshire Dales. Good public transport facilities. Several places of interest covering areas of natural beauty but also several areas of industrial historical interest such as old railways and lead mine workings.

I stayed here for one night. Ready to tackle the Yorkshire three peaks. Good basic clean room. Big shower cubicle. A great little bar and excellent restaurant. I could easily stay here for a long weekend. Friendly hard working staff in the bar and restaurant.

Stopped in Hawes during a rail tour for lunch, described by our Tour Manager as a finger buffet. What we got was a feast, Numerous sandwiches, quiches, Curry, rice, casserole and sausage rolls etc. etc. The beer was first class as well. Will definitely visit again when in the area for a longer stay.

Went for evening meal Wednesday. Had liver in what was supposed to be onion gravy It had onions but onions not softened no not oniony gravy, but an awful blackiish sludge. Wife had pie which was OK ish but ruined by same black sludge as gravy. Chips tasted as if cooked in old fat or oil.

Called in for some light lunch. Staff all pleasant and friendly. Food was decent and inexpensive and chef came out personally to present his fare. It would not be somewhere we go for an evening meal but for a lunch it did the job.

From first arrival until we checked out the following morning we were made so welcome by this family run hotel. The room was very comfortable with a super view over the hills. The food was very well done and extremely good value. Nothing was any trouble to the lovely staff. Highly recommended

I stayed for just one night whilst walking the pennine way The pub downstairs is very good indeed with a good choice of ales and very good pub grub the nightmare however is the comfort of the beds I think THE owners must of bought them from a RUSSIAN GULAG The worst nights sleeep I have ever had anywhere in...
