In a desert of Theakston's a family run Black Sheep Oasis is a sight for parched palettes and The Board Inn did not disappoint! We didn't eat though locally sourced fare was on offer and my lady enjoyed a delicious sauvignon blanc!

We stayed here whilst completing the Herriot's way. Rooms were fine, with a decent shower. Wifi was excellent - 5G, apparently. Breakfast was ok and cooked to order. Only real issue we had was getting a drink late on. When at 10.45 we asked for another beer the landlady said she was tired and off to bed. I've never heard...

This is a very good traditional Inn. Ideally located on the Penine way and centrally in Hawes. The town of Hawes has some interesting shops, cafes and a few pubs/restaurants. The room we stayed in (room 2) was large, with a sofa, comfy bed, TV and tea making facilities. The price which was good value included a very good breakfast....

Stopped here for lunch, Hawes was typically busy and it is always difficult finding a place to park. We liked the look of the place and the menu so stayed for lunch. Good range of food at reasonable prices. I had the day's special beef casserole which was delicious and a decent helping with properly cooked veg, my wife asked...

Having driven towards the M6 from Middleton in Teesdale, we stopped in Hawes for lunch. The Board Inn had a nice selection of food, and the Fish and chips that I had was very tasty. The chap behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming, which made all the difference.

Very tasty and well kept pint. Sat there and had a couple of pints while waiting for the little white bus. Very handy and the lady behind the bar was very pleasant. Can recommend the pint of theakstons. Was busy when we were there. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that.

Visited Saturday 15th April 17. A big thank you to the hosts for a very enjoyable stay. The room was immaculate and fresh, lovely location with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Good value for money. Highly recommend. If in the area I would stay again.

Grabbed a quick bite for lunch a good selection of bars food was available as well as a good selection of real ale (Theakstons best is excellent) add to that a real fire and a hearty welcome from the bar staff makes this a worthy place to have a light lunch

Superb place to stay, right in the centre of Hawes. The accommodation was spot on very clean and up to date. The breakfast which is included in the nightly rate was superb with all the food being locally sourced. A good choice to suit all appetites. The food which is served in the pub is very good and certainly value...

We stayed at The Board Inn for a night as a family and it was a pleasant stay. The staff are delightful and welcoming and breakfast was super. It really set us up for the rest of the day. My only comment would be the shower in room 5 could be a bit more powerful and the fact that this...
