Four of us and dog walked in after a very muddy walk and it was heaven. What a wonderful quaint quintessentially English pub this is. Great log fire burning and no mention of our muddy gear or dog. We had several wonderful real ales and the landlady even gave me a bottle of a local brew (free of charge) and...

Myself and my friends were camping not too far away, and we all fancied a drink so we decided to visit this inn. When inside, we all sat round a big table which was next to a roaring fire so, personally, I felt really at home. The drinks were nice and were pulled well. I can't comment on the food...

What a quaint pub ! exactly the way it should be . Lovely décor with some exquisite fireplaces. I had to struggle to find my way to the 'used beer depot' ...brilliant poster for the Gent's. This was indeed a hiker friendly pub !

My fella and I booked a room at Green Dragon so that we could enjoy a good walk followed by food, drink and music. the event advertised on their website (an evening of Americana and country music) was not on but much to our delight several local musicians turned up with guitars, fiddle and banjo and played their hearts out...

Organised to go camping here, emailed the owner to check if it would be open and she replied assuring us it would be open. Drove for 2 hours to be told they had closed the camping and they hadn't bothered to get in touch and tell us!

The Pub was fine, the beers cold, & the "4" steak & ale pies pretty good. But when ordering we asked for 'extra' gravy. . . We received 1 small gravy boat between us. We (4 Bikey Boyz) drank a good few beers & enjoyed the night, spending a small fortune, till we got the bill. They charged us £4.00...

I love this place with all its eccentricities. The old world feel, the fabulous fires, the range of beers and the eclectic mix of people, as well as its location. It gets very busy with locals and visitors which is its downfall at times. Went to get food, but, seemed in chaos. We were early ,food not being started until...

We ate here a couple of years ago and the experience was wonderful. Couldn't wait to return so took the opportunity recently. What a difference. The bar manager was decidedly offhand and there was offbeat live singing in the bar. The waitress was lovely and bent over backwards to be helpful. The food was mediocre at best. We won't be...

In planning our Pennine Way walk we chose to walk a couple of mile more and stopover at Hardraw rather than Hawes. We missed the brass band festival by a day which was fortunate as estimates said that there was over 2000 visitors in the tiny village over the weekend. I think that we hit the hangover. Staff seemed tired....
