Had an overnight stay after a days walking in Yorkshire Dales. Lovely twin ensuite room. Breakfast is by pre-order to be left in basket before midnight. Even a little basket to place your muddy boots. Homemade biscuits in bedroom along with usual assortment of teas and coffee, little flask of fresh milk left outside bedroom, which was a nice touch.... More

The house is a lovely 300 year old place in a quaint old village. The owner, Glenn, was very nice & welcoming. I loved my bedroom on the 2nd floor, overlooking the main road! The bathroom was small but the shower was hot and that's all that matters. Everything was comfortable & I hope very much to return to the... More

Herriots is a super place! It has a fantastic location in the town and whereas other hosts might rely on location to bring in guests, Liz and Glenn also provide a very warm welcome, delicious breakfast and thoughtful touches like the flask of fresh milk outside your door in the early morning. Breakfast is in the cafe surrounded by the... More

I stayed as a single only one night so I appreciate the warm welcome and Liz's offer of the use of their furnace room to dry my soggy hiking socks. Delicious breakfast. I also very much enjoyed dinner at The White Hart across the street.

Stopped here for a night during our walking holiday. Herriots is in a good position within Hawse with friendly hosts Liz and Glenn. We had a comfortable ensuite room and enjoyed a good breakfast before starting walking again in the morning.

I stayed at this guest accommodation only for one night but I found it really charming and friendly. The room I had was on the top floor with a great view and everything was really clean and well looked after. Breakfast was included and it was really nice, too.

Stayed here with another couple as a base for walking part of the Dales Way. Rooms are clean and comfortable, well equipped and furnished. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly, taking time to chat to us and make recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Lots of nice little touches, like fresh milk delivered to the rooms... More

The delightfull village of Hawes was groaning under the weight of tourists, I think we got accommodation by the skin of our teeth, that said we were fortunate to find a room at Herriot's. We had a great view of the main street with its quiant flower baskets and cobblestone streets. Our hosts were friendly, engaging, helpful and knowledgeable about... More

We decided to "do" The Herriot Way the "easy" way. Herriot's package of B&B + detailed route instructions + a made-to-measure packed lunch did exactly what it said on the tin. A drop-off/pick-up service enabled us to do the walking without the joined-up-transport worrying. The accommodation was first rate: clean, cosy and with those extra touches (home made biscuits in... Booked into this hotel by recommendation, not disappointed, had a wonderful night , good nights sleep, clean ,comfortable, Glenn & Liz are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely. Can't find any fault and I am sure this will be the first of many visits . It's the attention to detail that is so good like the small vacuum... More
