Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We’ve been coming to this site for many years but this was the first time since the pandemic and it’s clear that the new(ish) owners didn’t sit around during lockdown, waiting for campers to return. There’s now electric and water on every pitch, new hedges have been planted and the reception/shop/coffee shop has moved. There are plans to improve the site further, including holiday cottages and a new shower block, but even as it is it’s still perfect for a perfect family getaway. All pitches are large and level and the tent field has a big space in the middle where children mingle and play. Hunmanby village with its shops, takeaways and pubs is a mile away, the beach at Hunmanby gap is 3 miles and Filey is 5. If you like small, traditional sites with no entertainment, play parks, etc, this is the place for you.

What a find, this lovely clean campsite. Nice hot showers. Perfectly mowed lawns, large pitches. Lovely friendly couple, great to have a chat with over a morning coffee. Nice shop on site which also served very good coffee/ chocolate with fresh pastries in the mornings. We will definitely return!

Iv been looking to visit this site for a few years now. Glad we booked, its lovely. The owners are very friendly. The facilities were open with covid restrictions in place. Two toilets open in the ladies instead of three. There's an outdoor under cover pot wash area. We were on pitch 29, the pitch was flat & spacious. The owners have got plans for more improvements, cant wait to see what they achieve. Look forward to visiting next year. Hope to see a bigger sign 200yds before the entrance.

Stayed for 5 nights with our touring caravan and can’t wait to return as everything was as a site should be. Toilets and showers were spotless, pitch sizes were very good and the owners were so friendly and helpful. Warm pastries and coffees were available every morning from the onsite shop/cafe. Hunmanby is a lovely little place with a couple of pubs offering wonderful food. The site is a long walk from the beach (probably 45 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car) but the train station is only a 10 minute walk from the site and we caught the train into Filey which is only 4 minutes away by train.

Just had our third stay on this super site, and the new owners Louise & Richard have made some impressive improvements! The cafe and seating area, shop, toilet / showers are excellent. They are both friendly and welcoming and have kept up the offer of warm croissants for breakfast, which were divine!! Location is ideal inbetween Bridlington and Filey / Scarborough etc. The beach is ideal not too crowded and welcomes dogs, good local shops and pubs also!

We've just had a lovely weekend at this friendly campsite, first ever camping trip with children and the site was brilliant. Its a small site divided into sections which makes it feel really quiet and sheltered. The site is well maintained, lovely hedges, grass neatly cut and graveled area's, great for the kids to have lots of freedom on their bikes and explore. The facilities are all cleaned regularly and in good condition (20p for hot water 50p for a shower) There is a small shop on site selling essentials they also serve coffee and pastries in the morning, great for pack up day. We had a fabulous time the owners are very welcoming, we liked it so much we are going back next week, we were lucky and got a cancellation.

My partner and I have just come back from a weekend away at Saxdale House Farm. It was a lovely weekend we have previously visited the site but when it was under the old owners. The new owners have a put a lot of effort into updating the site and making all feel welcome. The toilets and showers where cleaned on a regular basis and the shop has been upgraded too. We will be returning 😊
