My wife and I and 2 friends stayed for 1 night only and could not fault it at all. From checking in with the very friendly Ian to checking out we had a very good night. As for the food we thought it was very good especially my chowder starter and Venison main course, my friend and wife enjoyed theirs and they eat out in Restaurants (not Pubs) at least 3 times a week every week so why there are complaints I don't know. The only down side for me was the price of the Beer but it is a Hotel. The rooms were spotless with everything you needed, plenty of hot water, a very large and comfortable Bed and Tee/coffee facilities. There is plenty of parking at the Hotel. Had a lovely Breakfast next morning served by a friendly and helpful lady by the name of Oksana. Would definitely stay again.

We found this new Inn a really lovely place to stay, with friendly and helpful staff, a lovely suite overlooking the Church, opposite the bus terminal too.
The menu, although small, comprised some good choices, and the rib-eye steak and home-made pepper sauce was beautiful. Breakfast was all you could want, and included fresh fruit salad and poached eggs florentine among other choices.
The large family room was beautiful and clean, and included twin beds in a secluded lower area as well as a king size in the main area. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided and unlimited.
Dogs can be catered for a small extra charge, and doggy treats and beer were available from the bar.
Access was very easy, with a large free car park, but you should ring from the side door to gain access with bags instead of walking to the front. After that you get two key cards and can use the side door freely.

We arrived early hoping to be able to check in early however we were told our room wasn’t ready and check in was at 3. Three came and went and we could hear who we thought was the manager complaining to a cleaner and anyone else who wanted to listen that it wasn’t fair she wanted to finish before all the rooms were ready for guests in our opinion very unprofessional in front of customers. We sat still waiting to check in at 3.40 but nobody had the decency to inform us our even offer a drink for our inconvenience, finally we were approached at 3.45 to go to our room i cheekily asked if we could have a discount and was told they would sort it out great we thought. We went to our room and unpacked when came back out we were told we could have two free drinks each and both have a main meal. We went out and had a wander and returned for our evening meal my wife went to the bar and ordered our starters and main meals and were charged for both when she asked about the free meals we were promised we were told it would be sorted and we would get the money back. Our starters and mains arrived and we had to say we’re both fantastic the pan fried sea trout we both had was the best I’ve ever had. We had our drinks as promised and were approached to say they had issues with the till trying to refund us for our mains as we were promised. The night came to an end and we retired for the night to a lovely room and comfortable bed and slept really well Next morning we went for breakfast and had full English again the food was amazing. We went about our day returning for a couple of drinks before bed and were awoken by the fire alarm at around 7 45 luckily when I went out it was a false alarm due to burnt toast. We were informed no real damage Done we had breakfast and again the food was amazing this time eggs royale. Check out at 10.30 and nothing was mentioned about our supposed free mains but we just left it at that and asked for our luggage to be stored they were more than happy to do this and we left for a final walk around returning for a snack before leaving. We would both return without question as the stay and food was great just a shame we had the issue with the last check in.

Welcoming pleasent staff although 2 weeks from opening a little unsure. Dreadful choice of menu predominantly heavy main meals. No light lunch choices with sandwich £9.00 to 11.00. Asked for eggs benedict, told no hollandaise sauce so asked for just the poached eggs, "no pan on to cook them". It's not rocket science, poor attitude, poor menu. But nice internal decoration, no outside space around the back of the property apart from on the main road at the front. Clearly no consumer research done regarding competition in northallerton.

Lovely room, fabulous shower.
Very clean.
No bottles of water in room, had to ask at the bar, this is normal practice for a hotel charging these prices

Poor nights sleep due to pillows being as hard as rock, woke at 5.45am with a stiff neck.
I asked house keeping if they had different pillows, to be informed no sorry.
Had to go and buy two as we are staying more than one night.

Breakfast was disappointing
Help yourself to tea, coffee, mugs etc.
Usually toast is brought to the table as standard service, but this has to be ordered separately
No fresh fruit or yoghurts.
I had Eggs Benedict which was very good.
Hubby had a full English which he said was disappointing, sausage not good, asked for an extra egg as didn’t want a number of other items on the list, to be told by the waitress- well I’ll ask them in the kitchen!!
Customer service needs a different approach.

We were going to stay again later in the week, but cancelled.

The setting and finish of the restaurant is brilliant. The gentleman on the bar is very friendly (I didn’t get his name) and the waiting staff are pleasant. They have a good selection of lager and wines so initial expectations were high.

We visited on a Sunday and whilst there was a Sunday lunch offering, there was also other options for those that didn’t fancy it. Again, another tick.

Unfortunately, the food is seriously lacking though. We both got the Sunday lunch which didn’t take too long to arrive. When it did, the size of the portion was ridiculously small for an adult. 2 roast potatoes, 1 piece of broccoli and some tiny cuts of carrot and parsnip - all for £15!! One of us is celiac too, so had the gluten free option which was just the same meal without a Yorkshire pudding. Not uncommon but usually an extra couple of roast potatoes or some more veg is provided as a replacement. The Yorkshire pudding was more of a Yorkshire cake, very stodgy. The gravy was ok but nothing to shout about.

That being said, we ate it all because we were starving. At no point during the meal did anyone come to ask if the food was okay, if they had of, I’d have said something then. We were asked at the end of the meal and after expressing our disappointment, we were directed to the manger who could help us further. A 20% discount was offered, which I’m assuming is the most they’re authorised to refund. And to do this, you had to have the whole amount refunded and then had to repay for the meal with the discount, serious faff on after an already lacklustre lunch.

It’s a new establishment so there’s going to be teething problems. There is no question they need a new chef otherwise it will fail. The staff are friendly and I’m sure will pick up on the little things that make the experience better over the coming months.

At this moment in time, I would not recommend for you to spend your money here. Leave it a few months, let them find a chef that matches the upmarket feeling of the place and then give it a try. I’d be willing to give them another chance in 2023 or if I hear of a new chef. My mother is less forgiving though so I’ll end by saying if you want to impress the locals who are now spoilt for choice in Northallerton you need to up your game rapidly as news travels fast and peoples pockets aren’t as generous as they once were. Although, that being said, they should maybe look at partnering with the dessert shop in Northallerton as we decided to fill ourselves up on ice-cream afterwards along with another group of customers who we’d noticed in the restaurant - clearly they were left wanting a little bit more too.

My husband and I dropped in for lunch a new place we would give it a go, decoration and furnishing very nice the food was not I had what was advertised as Smashed Avocado on toast with salad garnish and crisps.. the toast was half a small bun still white dry but not toasted, the avocado was mashed with something else I would be lucky if there was a quarter of a small avocado, the salad garnish was two sprigs of watercress, and no crisps and we paid £10 for that disgraceful!
My husband had vegetable soup which was a fare portion but the colour of chicken soup and just as smooth not a vegetable to be seen and so salty he could only eat a few spoonfuls and the dry bread (no butter) he got with it was about 2"x 3" 1/2"thick.
No need to say but won't be going back in a hurry considering it's part of a chain I think most of the menu is overpriced.

We returned home today from a very pleasant weekend stay at this recently opened hotel.
As expected with a new hotel it was very well presented and the staff are great fun and well drilled.
The food was great and very good value, the menu has something for every taste and is good quality. There are some different choices on the breakfast menu and options across the menu for vegans.
I have just stopped giggling at one of the reviews regarding waiter service and having to walk all the way to the bar to order drinks and food. You wouldn’t exactly have to order a taxi to get to the bar. While mentioning the bar it has an excellent offering of real ales, ciders, gins and beers.
My response would be if you want to pay more for waiter service and in some cases less for this type of service there are other hotels in the area with an inferior decor and far worst staff that won’t make you feel so welcome as at the Northallerton Inn.
The rooms in this hotel are fantastic with very comfortable beds that ensure a deep and restful sleep.
In summary a new hotel that stands out from alternatives and represents very good value for money in a lovely town with lots to do in the area.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Northallerton this is definitely the place. Superb. The manager, John, welcomed us and couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was spacious, the bed (a well know high end brand) was very comfortable and the shower was the best we've experienced in a long time. The bathroom was well fitted and had good quality toilet paper and good glass tumblers - you get the feeling these people actually care about the comfort of their guests.
We enjoyed excellent meals during our two night stay - both breakfast and dinner. Mairi, the deputy manager also went out of her way to look after us.
Overall, we rate this place 5 stars (we don't normally bother reviewing).
Both John and Mairi are a credit to their company.
