Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just returned from a fabulous two night stay in The Victoria Hotel, Robin Hoods Bay. The winter deal included two nights b&b, one brilliant three course evening meal and a gorgeous afternoon tea. Our room had fantastic views over the bay and was comfortable and well appointed. The staff were all friendly, polite and efficient which all helped to make our stay memorable. We will definitely be returning!

We stopped in for late lunch, after walking down to the beach and back FAB - Roast Sharing Platter - really big portions, lovely quality food. We will book to stay next year. Food in Yorkshire is always good. Mush better, and value for money than we can get were we live

We stopped here two nights as part of the Cleveland Way. Our room was superb, spacious and very comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful (but they still tried to be) The food was great! This place has an atmosphere that I think has been lost in many other hotels. They care. And on leaving you feel as though you've been looked after and want to return soon for more of the same. On top of all of that the location is fantastic!

We have eaten at the Victoria on our previous visits to Robin Hood's Bay and were always impressed by our experience. This time, we booked a room with a view overlooking the bay. We were not disappointed. This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they made our visit all the more special. A particular mention to Liam, who was extremely helpful from the moment we arrived. We have booked again for next year.

A 1st class hotel with excellent food and staff. Very clean and has been refurbished in the rooms which are pleasant and spacious. Drinks for a UK hotel were very reasonable and varied. The food menu had enough variety to please the majority of people and was of excellent quality and also reasonably priced. The only real drawback are the stairs to your rooms, not good for people who have difficulty walking up them. The staff were uniformly helpful and cheerful, making it a pleasant stay. One of the perks of the hotel is the view from the orangery and outside terrace, you have a birds eye view of Robin Hoods bay. Would recommend.

I have to say a big disappointment. I am over the kitchen and fans are running. Can't hear anything else it's like being in the 747 about to take off or even a Boeing . Small portions it's embarrassing I'm glad I have snacks in the room I could never recommend this hotel this room is the worst of any room I've ever had this year and the manager doesn't do anything

Popped in after a lovely walk around Robin Hood Bay and had the best Sunday roast! We ate in the bar area as had not booked but although not the amazing views you get in the restaurant it was still lovely. The staff were all great and it is amazing value too! Highly recommend.
