called here for lunch during a visit to robins hood bay, lovely sea views and a good lunch menu. Pretty basic inside, but good service and very good value for money food. I had the crab sandwich which was brimming with crab meat, ans a well presented side salad, my husband had the smoked mackeral salad which was just as...

Took a night away with my wife Karen at Raithwaite - Sandsend. I have never been to Robin's Hood Bay before and it is old world charm with a wide arcing beach. We popped in to the Bay Hotel on the dock - fantastic sea views, real fire, doggy friendly to well behaved ones. Staff were great and the food...

After driving down the smallest cobble steep road, came to an end at the waters edge, all maneuverd around pedestrians :( :( do not attempt to drive to this place, park at the very expensive parking at the top. outside eating space is not very big, and...

A very disappointing to the end of our coast to coast walk. No alcohol licence hence no beer etc available from the bar. We were told we could buy bottles from the nearby store and drink it at the hotel. However well-meaning this was it was not a satisfactory solution. We were not offered the chance to sign the walk...

We stayed at this hotel whilst walking the coast to Coast walk. Being the last of our hotels and with its supposed “good reputation and lively atmosphere” we also opted to stay 2 nights and meet with others who had completed the walk. It was a big mistake, the rooms were shabby and needed renovating and whilst our room “1”...

Went to the bay to meet up with old friend and we had the Yorkshire pudding with Cumberland sausage and the beef curry. Both excellent as was the beer. Great pub and great atmosphere and view across the water.

Old fashioned, tiny place but a great compact sea and slipway view. Lovely stopover, handy for local pub up the road. Fab litte ensuite, waking up to lapping waves and lush breakfast. Just needs to prepay its parking and tart up the bar.

Seemed a lot quieter than last time visited in 2012 and not as many of the coast to coast walkers in. We had a nice couple of pints of Wainwight to celebrate though and a nice round of tuna, ham and cheese sandwiches out on the balcony overlooking the sea

My wife and I had beef lasagne, chips and salad for lunch at over ten pounds each. Served quite quickly. Lasagne was bland and (whilst recognising that lasagne is a moist dish) it was overall lacking in texture. The chips were warm but lacked any crispness giving the appearance that chips might do if they had been reheated. Not asked...

On our trip to Filey, we decided to revisit Robin Hoods Bay. Parking at the top of the hill and then enjoy that walk down the steep hill to the seaside. Luckily right by the beach you'll find this old Pub/Hotel. A good selection of Ales were available, and as Bev was the chosen driver of the day, I was...
