The Manning Tree Guest House in stunning Robin Hood's Bay near Whitby offers quality bed and breakfast En Suite accommodation. Guests have easy access into the centre of charming Robin Hood's Bay fishing village, with its many superb inns, pubs and cafes. Whitby and is many attractions are also within easy reach, either by bus or via the exquisite cliff walk which forms part of the Cleveland Way. The guesthouse was built in 1897 and was once the home of a sea captain. The property retains much of its original charm, combined with contemporary luxury and well appointed en-suite rooms. The house is non-smoking and has central heating throughout for the comfort of all. Guests will love our hearty breakfasts which include a Full English Breakfast option with ground coffee, a selection of specialty teas, a choice of fruit juices and cereals and vegetarian options available. Situated in a quiet cul de sac the b & b is away from the continuous stream of visitors to Robin Hoods Bay but a 2 minute walk to the top of the very steep descent to the harbour. The rooms looked freshly decorated and everything was very clean. Steve the owner could not be more helpful and accommodating. Myself and my sister had different dietary requirements which Steve went over and above to provide. The full English breakfast was lovely with toast made with homemade bread. Nothing negative to say and I would highly recommend this b&b and it’s hosts. Thanks for a lovely short break!

Steve and Katy made my four night stay a real pleasure. A relaxed atmosphere, lovely room, comfortable bed, good en-suite and great breakfasts set me up perfectly for the various activities in this beautiful part of England, followed by great evening meals with the family (camping nearby) at the Grosvenor restaurant just down the road. - Highly recommended!

Subject: Manning Tree B&B, Robin Hood's Bay, England

North Yorkshire, YO22 4RE,
England

Title: Possibly the best B&B in the world
ID#: 4248338

[---]

The B&B can be an excellent form of (relatively) low cost accommodation. We stayed at quite a few on our recent round-world trip, but found nothing to compare with the Manning Tree, at Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire.

Our hosts John & Margaret made us very welcome. They were friendly and helpful to an extraordinary degree. The room was very comfortable with a brand-new bathroom, and there were lots of little touches like chocolates and peppermints everywhere.

Great location, comfortable accommodation, delicious breakfast, and hosts who went out of their way to make us welcome. You couldn't ask for anything more.

Excellent place. We were greeted with warmth and genuine kindness. nothing was too much for Katy and Steve, the proprieters, who were always cheerful and personable. The room was spotless and the facilities kept wholesome. We were able to read from an extensive library and use a range of maps. Parking was no problem and our privacy never invaded. It was so pleasant that we decided to stay an extra day. A perfect holiday spot!

A cut above the average B & B! John and Margaret could not have been more helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean with little extras (mints, shampoo etc and tea coffee and biscuits). Breakfasts very good but you need a large appetite to manage John's full English!). We were glad we stayed at Robin Hoods bay instead of Whitby as it was much more peaceful!

What a great b & b,Katy looked after us perfectly from us arriving till we left,we had 2 absolutely fantastic rooms both with lovely ensuite bathrooms. When we arrived Katy put the kettle on and gave us scones & jam a lovely treat after a busy day shopping in Whitby.Katy gave us a list of things available for breakfast so we could fill in our choices & even put down a time we would like our breakfast(what a fantastic idea). We had a superb breakfast next morning & Katy offered extra tea toast etc as required nothing seemed too much trouble for her visitors. We only stayed 1 night but wished we could have stayed longer. Will definitely go back.

It's hard to believe that Katy and Steve have only been in the b and b business since April this year. They are perfect hosts - welcoming and hospitable but not in the least bit intrusive. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean - some five star hotels take note! Katy and Steve were on hand to offer advice on anything we needed - where to get the best fish and chips, the footpath to Whitby, bus times back from Whitby etc. A great b and b in a great location with great hosts and lovely breakfasts.

Over the 17 days of walking, it is safe to say that the standard of accommodation was uneven. As we approached RHB, we found ourselves wondering aloud what our last night's accommodation would be like. I am delighted to say that it was perfect in every way. From Katy's warm welcome to our beautifully appointed room, to her graciousness in letting us use her back garden so we could drink our celebratory bottle of champagne, to the fridge on the landing which contained little jugs of fresh milk for our tea - what a delight our last night was. We developed our own rating system over the course of our walk, and the Manning Tree hit a 10 in every category. Even the Sherpa driver whom we bumped into, gave Katy the thumbs up and told us how lucky we were to be staying there. Thank you Katy - don't change a thing!

We stayed in the smaller double in early July for one night. Katy is a great hostess – welcoming and helpful, without being obtrusive. The main thing which stuck me about this bed and breakfast was the high level of cleanliness. It was spotless! Breakfast was also excellent. A fantastic find, in a beautiful part of the country. We are already planning another visit!

I just returned from staying at Manning Tree for two nights. The Bed and Breakfast is everything I hoped for; Clean, tidy, and with every comfort available. Katy and Steve were very helpful and friendly, and answered any questions we asked. There was also lots of information provided about the area, including walking and local attractions. The cooked breakfasts and freshly made raspberry jam were absolutely divine, making breakfast a meal to enjoy. If I ever had the chance to stay here again, I have no doubt that I would.
