My husband and I went for a romantic nights stay at the Talbot as we got married there in 2010. We stayed in our room that we had after we were married, but we were sadly disappointed. The room looked tired and a bit shabby, which is not what you expect when you are paying for one of the hotels...

The staff at the Talbot were warm, friendly, very knowlegeable about their local history and could not have been more helpful. We booked out the hotel for a family wedding being held elsewhere. There were lots of demanding people there and lots of small children running around - the staff were brilliant and the management could not have done more...

This is my second visit to the hotel and cannot praise the service and accommodation enough. Very well run hotel, excellent food and good service all round. If I had to be critical in anyway it would have to be the small car park at the rear of the hotel....which I couldn't get parked in. Be back again!

I cant tell you how helpful the guys at the Talbot were in helping to arrange our wedding celebration with them, Beth, Tom and Neil were great, helpful, accommodating, calm, and happy. Neil even ended up on one knee helping the bridesmaid with a panic strapping of a shoe... I arranged the wedding from Australia so it should technically have...

A friendly welcome on arrival. Relaxing, warm and comfortable room. Deliciously prepared food. By staying in an historic Inn which has the benefits of modern amenities meant we started 2017 in a wonderful fashion.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Beautiful hotel steeped in history. The gentleman that dealt with us and told us its history was not on the photos. Excellent service and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be staying again. thank you to matt for being such a friendly welcoming face.

We were looking for a comfortable night between Christmas and New Year between visits to children and grandchildren. The standard double we booked was reasonably roomy, well furnished. Everything worked and were pleased to see the choice of peppermint tea a One with decaf coffee in the hospitality tray. Bottled water at the bedside was a nice touch. Breakfast was...

Stayed for one night to see the historical town of Oundle and nearby Ashton - so glad we picked this hotel as very central and could not fault the room, restaurant or service! The breakfast is worth getting as a nice selection of cooked breakfasts.
