Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good size room, comfy and very large bed, decent size bathroom with powerful hot shower. Nice breakfast. Good atmosphere in the restaurant and the food was very different for a pub restaurant. Not that cheap for an overnight stay and a bit of a walk outside Alnwick centre, but overall very happy and would stay there again.

Yes we knew it was close to the A1, that was one of the reasons for booking it, we didn't realise that the hotel does not take this into account with the sound proofing, it was a loud constant road noise all night resulting in not getting any sleep, we requested a quiet located room when we booked but unfortunately nobody took this into consideration when allocating us a room, we would have been better sleeping in the car, never again will we stay here despite us being regular visitors to Alnwick.

Excellent hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable. Good sized airy rooms with fan provided and windows that open. The room was comfortable and we were able to control the temperature of the radiator. Restaurant food is excellent and the breakfast is well worth trying. A buffet cooked breakfast with coffee, juice, toast, cereals and pastries as extras. The staff are all very friendly and polite. There really is nothing bad to say about this hotel. The only little observation is that there is no bottled water supplied in the rooms. Other than that I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hogs Head. Although not too sure about the beds pushed together, slightly uncomfortable...Special mention to the bar staff Abi, Iona & Charlie, you were brilliant! Look forward to our next stay!

Ideally located for touring Northumberland this hotel offered a relaxing break with good food and decent rooms. We were impressed with the standard of room, clean and comfortable, and the standard of food and drink. What made our stay most comfortable was the friendliness of the staff who couldn’t do enough to help.
