Brilliantly located guesthouse for us as we were walking St Cuthberts Way and had walked 12 miles from Wooler straight to Aidanfield. The scenery both on the walk and at the house was spectacular as was the warm welcome from Mavis. The rooms were large and beautifully appointed. Lovely fresh fruit salad, yoghurts and cereals were laid out in the...

We stayed at Aidanfield in Sep2015 on a recommendation from friends. Our friends visited earlier in the year and said it was well worth a visit if we were in the Fenwick area. Well, our friend were not wrong, we were very pleased with our stay. The breakfast and accommodation were excellent as were our hosts, who really looked after...

We were two couples travelling and chose Aidanfield because of it's rural location. And....we weren't disappointed. What a beautiful home!! Mavis and Gerald welcomed us like we were old friends. Gerald grabbed onto our suitcases and proceeded to carry them up to our rooms....and the rooms were large and well appointed. And the views were spectacular. The grounds around the...

After several years since our last visit it was lovely to see Mavis & Gerald again. The warm welcome was just as lovely and the rooms were of the same amazing luxury. A wonderful peaceful area surrounded by fields and just a few moments from the turning to Lindisfarne, Alnwich Castle and Newcastle just a car ride away. After a...

The last stop on our St Cuthbert's Way walk before walking over to Lindisfarne. Beautiful house, lovely garden, very spacious and comfortable room - pity the same couldn't be said about the bed which was too firm (and we like firm!) and a standard double - a bit of a come down after all the spacious and comfy beds elsewhere...

My wife and I stayed here during our trek along St. Cuthbert's Way, the 7th hotel or B&B in 7 nights. It was a very pleasant stay. The house is located very close to the trail for the trek, so convenient for walkers. It is not near any restaurants, but to our surprise and pleasure, the hostess contacted a pub...

Aidanfield is a beautiful house set in a very well tended garden. It was so spotless and ordered that my first thought was panic that we might leave some of the grime that clings to walkers after a few days. But Mavis made us most welcome, clearly enjoying her travellers. Breakfast was excellent. There's no local pub for evening meals...

We stayed here one night after hiking from Bedford to Fenwick. Our room was large clean and very comfortable, luxurious. Mavis gave us a warm welcome and reserved a table for us at a restaurant in the next village. She even arranged transport for us which was a bonus as we are walking and have no car. The guest house...

Mavis & Gerald are the perfect hosts for a B&B. we were received in a very friendly way, got our very big rooms with a spacious ensuite, had a lovely breakfast and the best packed lunch of our trip (very healthy, not too much snacks). Gerald brought us to the pub for our dinner and also picked us up. Had...
