The Pub is Currently closed and under new ownership, this listing from April 2019 is only for the Caravan Park itself. We are looking at possibly reopening the pub with managers at some point later this year, but for now we only have the Caravan Park Open. Thank you to everyone who has frequented this pub over the years and apologies for the current closure.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

booked a 2 night stay here at the caravan site and let's just say its a muddy field with lots of dips and hills. Toilet facilities were dirty and no where near the touring pitch. All for the rip off price of £28.50 PER NIGHT. Website looks good but in reality there are half finished jobs. Plastic pipes and dug up pitches to manoeuvre around. There is no where to empty chemical waste either. If you've booked this try and find somewhere else. I'm still waiting on my refund also!!!!

Went for a meal after reading the great reviews. One of the worst meals ever. Meat was tough. Chips soggy and overdone. Bacon almost raw. List was endless. Would not recommend or return. Just to add to the ambience there was washing drying on all the radiators in the dining room.

Out in the countryside near Berwick this quaint Inn is nothing fancy. However, the food, drink and hospitality are good and excellent value for money. We had the delicious Sunday carvery. My advice is DO NOT ORDER A STARTER unless you are a glutton !

For £15 a night with hook ups it is a bargain , however , the toilets and showers let the site down . Both showers were broken in the ladies , only one had actual water running through it . One toilet bowl was disconnected from the floor and rocked . Walking from the touring site through the statics to the toilets there are dogs in vans barking at you as you walk past . One dog was literally throwing itself against the van window growling and barking. The site is next to a busy road which didn’t bother us at all . The inn itself is welcoming and friendly with superb food . We would definitely stay again as it’s a good base to explore the area, it’s just a shame about the facilities and the amount of barking dogs in the statics .

We visited on a Monday evening, with very few other diners present. The staff who dealt with us were friendly and attentive. The menu is pretty extensive and they cater for appetites of all sizes by having smaller portions for those who would rather not have a full-sized portion. We had an old-fashioned corned beef pie and vegetables and it was delicious, taking me in particular back many years to my childhood! There are several classic options on the menu and speaking with the staff, they are attracting diners! We would recommend this to anyone, whether with a young family or not.

We stayed at the Salutation Inn for one night recently & had a nice stay. Our room had a double & a single bed, a TV, tea & coffee & a small en-suite shower room. It also had lovely views across to the hills in the distance. It is on a main road but we didn't find it noisy as there didn't seem to be too much traffic. The double bed was perfectly adequate for us but did feel a bit snug as it was against a wall which made getting out awkward for the person nearest the wall. The staff were all very friendly & helpful & the food was good too; we had a tasty evening meal & a lovely cooked breakfast the next morning.

We only booked in for one night on the morning we were due to arrive. Thankfully there was a spare room. The place is well out of town and has a community feel in the bar area where dogs are warmly welcomed. Our Luna was thrilled with the attention. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and absolutely fine. We had a great freshly cooked breakfast and a very good evening meal from the surprisingly varied and interesting menu. Recommended. Feta and watermelon salad is pictured.

I visited the salutation for the first time after being recommended by a freind. My family of 4 had the Sunday carvary and to say it was the best carvary we have ever had would be an understatement. Everything was cooked to perfection . The added bonus that the children could play on the bouncy castle whilst we sat lin the well kept beer garden was a bonus . Stunning views! What made it more special was the staff ( so freindly) which is rare to find nowadays. Felt right at home. Reasonably priced also will definitely be back again. Will definitely recommend 5 stars

We were here again on Sunday 22nd April and it was the carvery again and was just as enjoyable as when we were there on Easter Sunday. The food is excellent and extremely good value. This time we had the pork which was so tender and tasty and the vegetables were just right. The staff are so friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble,my husband had been looking forward to having the Belgian waffle for dessert but it was no longer on the menu,`no problem` said the chef and cooked us both one now that's service! We shall definitely be back.
