Newminster Cottage is in a great location in Morpeth close to the river & the town centre. The primary reason for any stay is a good nights sleep & Paul has provided good quality beds that are comfortable & give you a good nights sleep.
Room 3 was very spacious & has windows in 2 walls which creates a light airy room & also has a beautiful en-suite shower room.
Both the bedroom & shower-room were 5 star clean/faultless.
Paul is an excellent host & provides a good breakfast.
Will definitely stay here again when next in the area.

My wife and I were in Morpeth for the weekend and Newminster Cottages was ideal for our short stay. We received a friendly welcome from Zoe, who seemed to be a little surprised at our arrival (found out that this was down to a technical issue with the booking provider website). Nevertheless we were shown to a comfortable, clean and spacious room with a sizeable ensuite bathroom. This particular room was at the front, slightly lower than street level but was still light and airy with a decent double bed and nice decor.
We were told that there was no cold water available in the bathroom and therefore were given the option to move rooms. We decided that this was a very minor inconvenience so stayed put - we could always get cold water from the kitchen. In fact having the freedom of the kitchen during the day was a good idea. We preferred this to having tea/coffee making in the room. Zoe gave us the options of where to eat that evening and we were quite happy with the Indian restaurant recommendation that she provided.
Paul makes a good breakfast, whether it is continental or full English. He knows the local area very well and gave us some ideas of places to visit during the day. My wife and were pleased to chat with Paul as he made breakfast across the dining room in the kitchen and it made for an enjoyable morning meal. Would definitely return if we're up that way again.

We went for a five day short break to this lovely B and B. Paul, our host, was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. As a small establishment with just 3 rooms it had a very relaxed atmosphere with a very homely feel to it. The location within the town of Morpeth couldn't have been better. Set along the river side it was an easy walk into the town or to take a stroll along the riverbank and into the lovely local park. The accommodation was very clean and was exactly what we wanted. We are already thinking of when to return.

We had a fabulous overnight stay at Newminster Cottage. Our room was very spacious, super comfortable bed and great shower. After a long day of driving, it was exactly what we needed and a welcome stop. Paul is THE perfect host - gave us a great welcome; directed us to a super restaurant in the town for dinner and made us feel very at home.
Our cooked breakfast was perfect and a great start to the day. Excellent coffee.
Can highly recommend Newminster Cottage and for us, thank goodness we couldn't find accommodation in our original stopping point of Durham. Otherwise we would never have found Morpeth and the B & B. Paul also gave us great advice on where to stay on our next stopping point, in Scotland.
Thanks for a great stay.

Good Value & close to town park opposite but quiet. Paul most helpful & informative about the place which was spotless. Breakfast is cooked to order previous evening. We will return as very comfortable beds too with beautiful bathroom. What is not to like?

Received a warm welcome from Paul. B & B is well located for all amenities in central Morpeth. Rooms are spotlessly clean if a bit dark due to location of some windows in twin and family room. Breakfast was tasty.

Soundproofing was an issue in the room I was in. You could hear everything in the family accommodation above. I was kept awake by Paul entertaining his mate until 12.30 am. I understand this is a family home but as a paying guest I was not happy to be kept awake until the early hours which resulted in me being tired for the 250 mile journey the following day.

I am sorry that Paul's socialising with a fellow guest kept you awake til this hour and hope that you had a safe journey home. This is our family home but we do try to be considerate to all our guests during their stay.

Myself an my partner stayed at Newminster Cottage B & B for a long weekend as we were off to a wedding. Zoe and Paul were excellent hosts and couldn't be more helpful and made us feel right at home. If you fancy a great place in a beautiful setting with the personal touch then this is for you. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Morpeth :)
