Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staying in lodges at weekend for my birthday and went to book table for meal Saturday night 6th January . Sign outside states to book online so friend booked table for 6.30 Saturday night for party of 5. Walked down from lodge to find couldn’t get in. My friend HAD received email confirmation of booking earlier that day. Rang bell for reception and was told restaurant closed all of January! Asked if anywhere else and was told try Otterburn village! We were all dressed up, my sister, a diabetic, had taken her insulin in perpetration for meal. Had to go back to lodge and ring round trying to find somewhere else. Luckily friend who took car hadn’t had a drink so able to drive to another restaurant a few miles away. Redesdale Arms which I would highly recommend. Leaving lodges today the notice is still outside restaurant advising people to book online !

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the experience. On the first and last evenings we dined in and on both occasions thought the food very good. Breakfasts were excelent. Our room was clean and had clearly recently been refurbished with new carpeting etc. All in all a very good choice to stay if you want peace and quiet.

Lovely hotel, staff extremely welcoming and food delicious. Owner Paul, couldn't do enough to help us and waitress in bar was very cheerful and chatty. The room was comfortable and warm and we were located within easy access of outside door as we had a puppy with us.

I spent a night at this lovely hotel because I was attending a wedding nearby. The service I received was exceptional from start to finish, with staff going far over and above to help. My veggie breakfast was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this lovely place highly enough.

Room Tip: The hotel is a fair way past the entrance to the estate and not the easy walk to Le Petit Chateau...

We stayed for one night. There was other family staying too as we were at a family wedding. The rooms were nice/clean. We had an evening meal. Restaurant and bar area lovely and modern and relaxing. The food was superb. I had chicken burger and sticky toffee pudding. My partner had lamb. Unfortunately never got owners name but she was extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfast - full English is the nicest I’ve had to date. Thank you to you and your husband for the most enjoyable stay

Quiet secluded location, surrounded by trees on a private road. We had a three-night stay, having never really explored Northumberland this seemed a perfect place to use as a travel base. We had great days out visiting Holy Island, Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, stunning countryside drives through small villages. The staff on site were all exceptional and professional, a great breakfast to start the day, a very enjoyable stay.

Came for bottomless brunch here on the 25th March. £27.50 for a meal and free flowing drinks for 90 minutes, including prosecco, wine, lager, soft drinks etc. Lovely food and such good value for money. The waitress who was on was brilliant, so friendly and looked after us, such a credit to your business 👏.

Family Sunday lunch which was exceptional Fabulous flavours, presentation and service and great help with coeliac options. The mains were fabulous and frankly the desserts were on another level from a taste perspective. Well worth a visit whether you're staying locally or want a nice drive out lunch.
