Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just on the outskirts of Seahouses, in North Sunderland, about 15 minutes from the centre, this is a comfortable place to stay, with a great bed, spacious room and modern bathroom. During the current situation, breakfast was continental, in the room and could have been better.... but we enjoyed the stay all the same.

Wonderful service, fabulous breakfast and beautiful room with a balcony overlooking lovely countryside with a seaview in the distance. Located 10 minutes from centre of Seahouses. The owners had paid great attention to detail, rooms were spacious and fully equiped, TV, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer. Nothing was too much trouble. Ian was the perfect, 'mine host', chatty, interested in what we were doing each day and shared local knowledges and ideas for places to visit. I would highly recommend Springwood and would definitely return.

We stayed for a week in July just after reopening and Marion and Ian made us feel very welcome. It was tranquil - lovely to see horses all around us and distant views to the sea. Easy walks to the beach

We booked this b&b because the reviews on trip advisor were so great but we were so disappointed.
Our delux room with balcony overlooked a scruffy horse riding centre and the cesspit!
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but DONT expect a delicious breakfast.
What was provided for the “continental” breakfast was a disgrace for what we paid for our 2 night stay. £230!
The fridge rattled every 20 minutes so we had to turn it off at night.
We were instructed by the host to wash all our pots after use, empty the bins and strip the bed before we left!
My husband almost vacuumed the stairs on our way out.
This is probably our only trip away this year and we wished we hadn’t bothered. I wanted to come home after the first night.

We only booked for the one night but could not have been happier. A wonderful guest house, Ian & Marian made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. Great rooms with a nice view over the fields with horses and sea on the horizon. V short drive to the beach or 15min walk down a quite road directly onto the beach. The room was spotless and a lovely nothumbrian breakfast set up with intervals to deal with Covid. Highly reoommend. We will stay again and sure to make use of the excellent horse riding facilities.

The B&B is in an excellent location for accessing coastal walks and some fantastic places like Bamburgh Castle. We had some lovely meals and drinks in Seahouses a few minutes walk down the road. Great hospitality provided and a fantastic breakfast each morning, would recommend to all, 5 stars well deserved.

This lovely bed and breakfast is a little gem. From start to finish we felt at home by the warm and welcoming hosts. We were shown to a lovely room looking out over the Cheviots which was definitely 5 star quality.
Only 10 minutes stroll into Seahouses with an array of eating places and cute pubs with panoramic views of Bamburgh and Farne Islands.
Our breakfast was outstanding. Prepared and served by our discreet hosts, we looked forward to it. Extra touches like fresh fruit on each table, coffee served in Cafetière - made our day.
We are definitely returning and hopefully soon.
Thank you

We stayed at Springwood 8-10th September 2023 in the Dunstanburgh room which has a balcony overlooking the fields; it was lovely sitting with a glass of wine watching the horses grazing in the fields. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a great en suite bathroom. The house is situated in a village setting and is very quiet and peaceful, but you are only a 10 minute walk from Seahouses. The breakfast was lovely, with enough choices for everyone. The hosts, Ian and Marion were very welcoming and friendly. We prebooked evening meals at the Old Ship inn and the Insieme Italian restaurant. This is on a good bus route and is a great base for local walks.

As a return visitor I can only say things are just as good as our last visit two years ago. This is a lovely guest house with a warm and friendly welcome. Our comfortable and spotlessly clean room overlooked the horses field with the sea beyond. It was peaceful and relaxing and I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Breakfast was delicious and caters for every need and Ian is the perfect host with his cheery smile and warm personality. It is only a short walk into Seahouses and the area has an abundance of beaches and castles to explore. We loved our time here and will definitely be back.

This is our second visit to Seahouses and Springwood, and it was just as good as we remember. The room was lovely with a balcony where you could see for miles ( most of the time) and watch the horses in the fields over a lovely G&T late in the afternoon. The breakfast was beautiful and set us up for a day of walking and exploring places like Cragside House which is part of the National Trust and was a fab day out. Ian the owner told us about it at breakfast and we went on his recommendation, we weren’t disappointed. Beadnell Bay was another lovely place to visit, although it was busy at the weekend. We went back in the week and it was very quiet and we walked for miles all round the bay, out kind of walk. We will definitely will be back.

Unfortunately, Springwood do not take dogs but there are other places in the local area that do include plenty of dog friendly pubs. I believe the Craster Arms Hotel in Beadnell (a short distance from Seahouses) do take dogs.
