Michael, the owner, couldn't have made us more welcome at The Farne Island Bed and Breakfast establishment in Seahouses. He supervised our parking( 4 spaces directly outsidethe property) so as not to hinder anyone walking along the pavement, then grabbed our two heavy cases, and whisked them up the stairs.

Our room was large, colourful and spotlessly clean with a seaside vibe. It overlooked the front road - which wasn't a problem for us at all, but you could also choose two back bedrooms(when available), one on the ground floor and another on the first floor. There was a sitting area with a large T.V. and a table and chairs. The bed area had another T.V. The bathroom had full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash for you to use. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were provided with fresh milk and juices available in a fridge by the front door. We also liked the Twix Bar and Double Decker provided free. A really nice touch.

Breakfast was amazing. Really large portions.... expertly cooked by Michael. He even managed to provide us with a Craster Kipper! Full marks for this.

Micheal gave us lots of helpful information about Seahouses too, and suggested we book directly through him for a much cheaper deal!

We stayed there for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in the cod room upstairs which is a very large room with a seating area and table and chairs. The room is on the front of the building but very little disturbance from road noise. The bed was very comfortable. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash available as were tea and coffee making facilities with sweet treats too. The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and if you wanted something that wasn’t on the menu, then Michael, the host would try to source what you wanted. The location was great, just a very short walk into Seahouses and about 3.5 miles to Bamburgh Castle. We would happily book here again and would recommend booking directly as we did. Very responsive to messages. Also, recommendations for places to eat or visit readily available if you wanted them.

Everything you need for a relaxing break. Great host, fab rooms, luxurious towels, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, powerful shower, clean, quiet, plenty of parking, ideal location, and dont even get me started on the quality of the breakfasts !! The freshest eggs you will ever have served to you ... same for the fish ... smoked salmon smoked haddock. Fruit was so good ... biggest blackberries ever. Portions were immense and set you up for the day. Michael knows all about hospitality .. this gentleman gets it so right. I dont normally sleep well but i did here .. alarm needed every morning.
Here's to next year (covid willing) cant wait

I can highly recommend this dog-friendly B&B, we stayed in the Salmon Room on the ground floor which has it's own entrance. It is very roomy with a large tv on the wall, 2 chairs in the room and a very comfy bed, the shower is a huge rain shower plus it had a normal one in a sunken bath. Thick soft towels and quality toiletries were provided.
The whole place was extremely clean and the little private garden with table and chairs was a bonus.
The breakfasts were excellent quality with a good choice from traditional breakfast to kippers, smoked haddock, fresh fruit salad etc.
Michael and Amy are a really nice couple that provides an excellent service and would certainly recommend this to anyone

Lovely clean B&B. Host very friendly and welcoming.
The salmon room is a good size with a small outside area if weather permits. The bathroom has 2 good showers and a sunken bath. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because the shower curtains are ready to be changed.
Good range of tea, coffee and biscuits. Even a little tray of chocolates. Fresh milk available in a communal fridge.
The tables in the breakfast room are well spread. Breakfast choices really good and very tasty.
Parking spaces at front of B&B. Good restaurants in walking distance. I would definitely return.

The farne is far from the old fashion B&B. Modern decor, great bed, proper glasses and toiletries, matching hangers, massive fluffy towels and the sort of shower you wish you had at home. Michael loves his food and breakfasts are made with locally sourced ingredients down to homemade marmalade, we recommend trying... Well everything!
Michael was a great host, happy to share his local knowledge to help you make the most of your time.
Brilliant, a big 👍 from us

This was our second visit to this charming B&B. It is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We’ve stayed in both the Salmon room and the Cod room. The beds are extremely comfortable and the towels are thick and fluffy.
Breakfast is wonderful! Fresh fruit bowls, a choice of yoghurts and cereals, a selection of fruit juices and the tastiest cooked breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble. We even got offered some fresh crab on our first morning - it was delicious!
Micheal (the owner) is very knowledgeable about the local area and suggested some lovely places to visit.
Highly recommended.

This is a great place to stay. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the bathroom filled with everything a guest could need: lovely good quality bath products, sewing kit, tea and coffee, biscuits, fresh milk. The room was decorated in a most interesting way. Michael is a fabulous host who very kindly made me a sandwich for lunch and fresh fruit for breakfast. He also provided a wealth of local knowledge and a bucket of soapy water to clean a seagull's welcome gift to my car.
There is private parking and the B and B is a very short walk from the harbour.

This is a lovely bed & breakfast. Michael is such a friendly host, very welcoming.
The rooms are very clean and comfy, towels are luxurious and chocolate treats to have with your hot drinks in your room are an added touch with fresh milk if you prefer.
The breakfast is all you would need to start your day. The portions exceeded my belly! We ordered the smoked salmon for the following day which Michael collected from the local smokehouse himself, and it did not disappoint! It was the best I've had in a long time!
I would definitely recommend this bed & breakfast, it's just a five minute walk to the harbour, perfect location. Michael is the perfect host, he just knows what people expect. Thank you!
