We visited the Pheasant inn last week for a peaceful break in our favourite Pub/B&B. We had a lovely room, bed so comfortable that we did not want to get up to go to breakfast. The staff were all lovely, and could not do enough for us - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely, and something that we...

Thank you once again for taking time to leave us your review it's always a pleasure to welcome you back. Irene my mum and one of the founding partners of The Pheasant Inn who sadly passed away last week would have been delighted to hear that the team with Karen at the helm carried on as normal looking after everyone...

Winter perhaps not a good time to visit... the charming building and lovely setting were complemented by a traditional bar and loung/dining room. The rooms were in converted outbuildings, nicely done out, small but spacious enough with en suite,tv and tea making facilities. My comment about the winter months was because of the (probably untrained) service, which was poor and...

Thank you for your review. My apologies for the confusion with your breakfast, we do have a new couple with us and this was their first breakfast. They genuinely misunderstood how you wanted the order to come. My friendly team are our greatest asset and I hope you will forgive us this hiccup. Unfortunately on these midweek winter nights when...

Although we have visited this gorgeous country pub on quite a few occasions for Sunday lunch which may I say is gorgeous home cooked food sourced locally. The flavour of the beef and real gravy which I usually plump for is amazing. The lamb is also fab. My hubby tends to be a bit of a pie man and loves...

My wife and I stayed here for a night, used the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. It's about 15 minutes to the Observatory door-to-door and the surrounding countryside and roads are smashing. The room was fairly small but very comfortable and quiet. The bar & restaurant is very comfortable - it was January and the real fire was stoked making...

Many thanks for your review. There is nothing like a roaring log fire in the Pub on a cold winters night. Hope to welcome you again when the blue skies return.

Went for a meal whilst staying in the nearby falstone barns in falstone.. the food was great, staff were friendly and helpful and the decor was just as expected, fire burning, loads of interesting trinkets on the walls, a nice warming atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you're up near Kielder!

Stayed here recently whilst visiting the observatory and the welcome was great. The rooms were well appointed, and more importantly, extremely well maintained and cleaned. The pub is lovely.. a wonderful fire, enjoyable ales, great breakfast and equally enjoyable dinner. We were welcome right from the start both by the staff and fellow guests and had a lovely long weekend...

Over the years we have enjoyed many meals at The Pheasant, even going back to the days when Walter ran the place - it is a convenient and convivial place to meet our son who lives in Edinburgh. This is the epitome of a country pub - pleasant lounge bars, a roaring fire in winter, gleaming brasses, a great range...

Many thanks for leaving us your review. Although Walter is not as visible as he was he is still very much part of the place at 82 and keeps us right. The old faithful Cider baked Gammon does still appear but alternates with the Belly Pork so let me know the next time. Delighted you enjoyed the break.

Just came came back from a 5 night break in falstone and visited the pheasant Inn on 2 occasions for dinner and 1 occasion to partake of their range of malt whiskies. We stayed here for 2 nights in early December when visiting the Kielder Observatory. Our room was a converted cowshed, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and with a bed more comfortable than ours at home. The large bathroom had a shower with plenty of hot water. We had dinner at the inn on both nights, the food was perfectly cooked and...
