The Angel inn is one of the oldest inns in England. We have seven en-suite bedrooms all with Wi-Fi, music docking stations and tea and coffee facilities. The pub is family run and a home from home feel. The food is homemade English with a daily specials board and the chefs will cater with any special request or dietary requirements. The pub has a large car park and beer garden with a patio area where you can enjoy your food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. The Angel is great for business users for accommodation as its close to the A1M. With Worksop, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Rotherham all under 30mins drive away. The Angel is a traditional pub with real ales (B.R.A.G. recognised)and fine wines all reasonably priced. We have a family area with highchairs, and cater for parties of all sizes

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a great place to stop just off the A1 in Blyth, much better than the motorway services just up the road. It’s an old coaching inn on the old Great North Road. Great pub grub, freshly prepared and plenty of it. Friendly service, reasonably priced. Well done Angel Inn

In the middle of this strange life of isolation we are leading it is nice to have some kind of normality. We had seen takeout menus posted on Facebook so today (Good Friday) decided to try one. We ordered 5 meals. 1/ mixed grill .1/gammon. 1/ salmon 1/ lasagne and 1/ chicken and ribs. Plus 5 puddings. Wow they were fantastic. Piping hot and very tasty and great value for money. Could not fault them at all. Fantastic service too. Making sure we kept to the proper social distancing when collecting. Would certainly recommend and certainly visit again. Hopefully to eat inside.

We we greeted warmly by the staff and our room was ready early as requested (we we’re attending a wedding) The room was tiny, en-suite a step up from bedroom and more like a cupboard. No sockets near a mirror so unable to do my hair or makeup properly. Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired as the tv had an inch thick of dust behind. The corridor was being decorated with new carpet and all rooms had new doors which were very nice. Hope the rest is being done too! Breakfast was a bit of a joke, we asked for milk for the cereal and it was brought in a measuring jug!! Cold food. All in all ok for the one night but don’t think we will be returning

Despite restrictions in place, this place not only grasped the concept of outdoor dining but executed it with enthusiasm and efficiency.

The food was absolutely amazing, beer was great and the staff were so attentive. This is an example for other establishments to follow.

The Angel has gone above and behond to make sure everything is covid friendly. A very cheerful greeting on arrival from the staff. The food is exceptional, the staff are very friendly. And an added bonus is such a beautiful outdoor space, not only have they a marquee. But a gin gin bar is in the garden, playing plesent music, and a child's play area, there are lots of tables in the garden. Would highly recommend the Angel inn

We visited The Angel Inn, Blyth,Notts on Wednesday evening 3/8/22 after a trip to Leeds. The service by KATIE was faultless, a very professional yet friendly and cheerful young lady, nothing was too much trouble an asset to this establishment.
The food was really fresh and hot, and was perfect in every way.
We’ll certainly re visit

Called in for lunch mid week. Can't say we had a warm welcome just polite.
Service was very business like and not particularly personable.

However the food was nice if not a tad expensive. £10 for a jacket potato with tuna mayo for example.

We ate in the beer garden which is a good size and a nice place to sit. Unlike a lot of beer gardens it was obvious a lot of effort had gone into making it nice, much appreciated too.

Drinks were a tad expensive too, £5.50 for a pint of lager.

Overall a good experience and we would would recommend a visit. We will be back!

We went on a Friday night, was very busy, service was really good and stay were friendly. Food was average, I’ve heard a lot of things about the food but I thought it was a bit over rated. There was a special board but we only saw this when leaving, never got told by the staff it was available which is a shame as my partner would of had items off it… overall was average.

This is a review for the hotel and its facilities. Very friendly staff and all Covid precautions are in place.
Room was clean and tidy and everything was in place.
Unfortunately you couldn’t open the window and it was the hottest night of the year!
The breakfast offerings need a rethink. No fruit or cereals nor cakes or biscuits were on offer.
Also maybe a menu with the cooked meals and serviettes would be a good idea.
But the staff were excellent.

Would a small puppy be allowed in the pub

Personally I've never seen a dog in there. In fact I remember being told that I'd have to have my beer in the garden as I'd got my Labrador with me.
