#2 of 5 B&Bs / Inns in Edwinstowe
Hotel Description: Having been recently fully renovated, our wonderful 18th-century coaching inn, we are now enjoying sharing this wonderful hotel with you. In the rural countryside village of Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, the Dukeries Lodge dates back to the days of highwaymen, when it first provided a comfortable stopover. Our passion has been to retain the traditional character and sense of history – even choosing to keep the creaky floors and wonderful stained glass windows. All our individually styled bedrooms and our Maid Marian suite are admired by everyone. A family-run hotel with a reputation for superb hospitality, long renowned as one of the best loved venues for celebrations of all kinds, we also offer meeting and conference packages. Conveniently located on the border of Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & Yorkshire close to the A1, M1, M18 & M62, we are within an hour’s drive from Retford, Doncaster, Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham. Stunning food thoroughly enjoyed by a family of 4 today. Piping hot, tasty, good portions & delicious. Great menu, lots of choice. Friendly staff & reasonably priced. Excellent, can’t fault it whatsoever. Look forward to visiting again. Thanks a lot.

Probably one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed in. Staff are rude. The food is absolutely rubbish. The room is pure dirt. TV doesn’t work, nor does one of the sockets. The shower leaks out of the door (puddle) The bar staff re use your pint glass when you want another. HYGIENE!!! Overall I really wouldn’t recommend. Do better!

This has to be one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The cleanliness is beyond a joke, puddles around the toilet, blood on the wall, sticky substance on the headboard which I had put my head on. Then to top off this nightmare stay, they had a band playing downstairs until midnight which I can only describe as a cat being strangled in a bathtub the bass shaking the floor of our room. No where on their site when we booked did it say this was going on. We had been up from 4am to be made to stay awake at this hell hole.

Popped in for evening meal. Not up to usual standards tonight as we have been many times before. Asked for no cheese on one of the 3 burgers & reiterated this, being told that "the kitchen does listen to what is ordered" Guess what? yep, cheese on! Good job he's not allergic, just a food dislike. Not only that but I ordered butterfly chicken Cajun spiced, what I got was plain butterfly chicken breast, which I ate anyway as we were short on time. The chicken was a bit overcooked & the medium rare steak was more like medium to well done so not happy! The kids enjoyed their meals & the burgers were all very nice. Maybe we'll all stick to burgers next time!

By far the worst experience I've ever had ... Staff were extremely rude . Told us the bar was closed at 12 but refused to serve us a drink at 11:45 because John the manager was tired and wanted to close . The rooms were awful .. dirty... TV didn't work . I had to leave my room as the emergency light was so bright it completely lit up my room green .. I don't usually complain but seriously it's the worst hotel I've ever been in .
