Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful building. Nice and close to the town centre. Had all we needed for our stay and the facilities in the room were just right. The bathroom in our room is an obvious conversion to part of the room and needs a little redecorating. Overall a good stay.

We spent 2 nights at The Lodge, our room was very clean, & the hotel was quiet. The hotel is very close to Mansfield centre...our breakfast was lovely, & the staff service was excellent. We intend to return when we next visit Nottingham, & we recommend this hotel if you visit.

Excellent. Simple and spotlessly clean. Breakfast excellent I wish I had had supper to taste more of their excellent food. I would highly recommend. Sadly I am unlikely to be passing this way again. Friendly staff. On site parking.

There were 6 of us and stayed here for 2 nights for a family wedding and cannot fault it at all. Super comfy beds and spotlessly cleaned every day . Staff were so friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing and so much choice and plenty of it . Definitely more than a 3 star and would not hesitate to stay here again .

Great location for sherwood. Nice sized room, spotlessly clean. Really comfy bed in a beautiful old building. Good offering for breakfast and dinner and staff super friendly and accommodating, making breakfast available to take away. The main road is busy at peak times and rooms on the front can hear it, but I was up and out early so didn't worry me at all.

A lovely hotel in a nice Victorian house. Cosy, well appointed rooms and spotlessly clean. A good breakfast menu and good food. Forget the chain hotels, this establishment provides a nicer personal experience at a competitive price. Would use again without hesitation.

Stayed one night for a family wedding nearby and would happily book for a longer stay whenever we are in the area. I LOVE to use independent hotels whenever I can and this one is worth a five star review. An old building that has been in the same family for years is particularly friendly and charming . Our room was warm and comfortable , the host, Darren, was friendly and very helpful , and there was a good breakfast choice which was well cooked and presented . What’s not to like !

We had a lovely stay in this hotel recently. Small and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and served exactly as we requested. The hotel bathroom and coffee station were both well-stocked. The beds were comfortable and super-warm. A really pleasant atmosphere and "home from home". We cannot wait for our next stay.

Stayed here for one night with Family older type of accommodation but with lots of up grades to the property ie Dinning room bedrooms etc but with some of the old features still there. A good welcome on arriving . Nice bedrooms with some updates internally and Secure entry with key fobs . Full English Breakfast with toast coffee tea just the job after a night. A little traffic noise but that did not bother us at all . Easy access to Mansfield by bus or taxi Would we stay again Yes we would Thanks you Darren
