The Cosener's House this afternoon. We were shown to a beautifully decorated table by the window by waitress Rita. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. At one point friendly manager Katy came with our desserts. The Cosener's House is a marvellous place for an event like a wedding or birthday party. It is a beautiful old building and we had a lovely view of the garden and the River Thames from our table. With the combination of these, the excellent food and service and a wonderful atmosphere, I highly recommend it to everybody.
Very comfortable ground floor room although a little on the small side but adequate. There was no wardrobe but hangers provided in an open cupboard. Modern bathroom with good shower albeit over the bath. We decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant with the tables all distanced. As I have food intolerances there was nothing on the vegetarian menu I could have but the chef very obligingly offered spinach cannelloni with a crusty topping which was excellent. We would certainly stay there again if in the area.
Absolutely fabulous place to stay location - Abingdon-on-Thames - amazing staff couldn’t be more attentive and breakfast delicious - views and walks lovely - very peaceful and would certainly visit again
Although we only stayed for one night, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We arrived during the morning and, as rooms aren’t ready until 2 pm, we were allowed to leave our car in the car park. Our spacious room was on the first floor and had a good view of the garden and the river Thames. At all times the staff were very polite and attentive. We had an evening meal and then breakfast the following morning and everything was cooked and presented very well. We would certainly recommend this hotel if you want to explore Abingdon as it is very central for the town and the river.
We visited today for a business meeting over afternoon tea! We were met by a friendly reception team and led to a table outside on the patio with stunning views over a beautifully kept garden and the river Thames! A lovely waitress called Tia served us our tea, she was wonderfully cheery and attentive. The afternoon tea arrived and it was amazing, great selection of sandwiches, delicious homemade scones with jam and cream and a lovely selection of cakes! Well done chef! A very enjoyable experience and I highly reccommend you visit! It’s a beautiful hotel
