Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at The Chesterton Hotel in May whilst on a golf break at Studley Wood about 12 miles away. I was extremely impressed on arrival there is ample parking at the front. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms were very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and were all very impressed with the choice, quality and price of the food all served by the very accommodating staff. The cheeseboard was especially well presented. Breakfast the next morning was again served in the restaurant and the full English and the buffet choices were very good. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Nice staff and very helpful. Breakfast was very good, cooked fresh while we waited and the classic room was beautiful and quiet. There is some quite extensive building work going on at the moment and we overlooked it. Fortunately though we stayed over the weekend so there was no noise.I would guess that weekday stays might be different. The evening meal was pretty good, but the menu was not very big and we could have done with a few more traditional dishes to choose from. Overall though a very nice hotel and we wouldn't hesitate to book again if we needed to be in the area.

+1
This was our second time staying at The Chesterton, our first visit was three years ago.
Location
Perfect location for Bicester Village (less than 10 mins drive) and getting into Oxford which takes about 25 mins from the hotel.
The Room
We stayed in one of the deluxe double rooms facing the court yard area. The rooms are a decent size and equipped with everything you would need and more for a few nights away including Iron, hair dryer, safety deposit box etc… The rooms are cleaned every day with Tea, Coffee, Bottled water and Biscuits are in the room on arrival and replenished every day, as are the towels. Useful to know all the rooms all have bedside USB plug sockets.
The only negative is the same as most hotels…never enough hangers provided.
The Bar
The bar has moved and improved since our last stay three years ago. It now has a real modern look and feel and has a great selection of drinks and is a nice place to sit for a few drinks or twelve.
The Restaurant/Brasserie
I honestly think this is one of the best restaurants connected to a hotel I’ve stayed at in the UK. The food is excellent as is the service, we ate here both nights and were not disappointed. There is a great selection on their menu which is sometimes supplemented by specials. The Scallops, The Fillet Steak and Short Rib Beef are really good (pictures attached).
We also ate breakfast here both mornings where there is a selection of fruit, overnight oats, multiple choices of of cereal and pastries which is followed by a selection of hot breakfast off a menu.
The Staff
We found the staff all very polite, friendly and helpful. They are happy to chat without being invasive.
I honestly would stay anywhere else now when visiting Bicester/Oxford:

We decided to take a 2 day break from London after a hectic few weeks. I chose this hotel because of its location and the fact that I like Oxford. it was very easy to find and when we arrived we were astonished as to how pretty it was and how beautifully decorated with very tasteful Christmas decorations both inside and out. We were so pleased with our choice. During our 2 night stay we were constantly amazed by how fabulous all the staff were, very friendly, welcoming and could not do enough for us. I am particularly trying ......because I have a garlic allergy which means I have to know and avoid this ingredient in all food. This was dealt with in the most professional way that I have ever come across. Everyone was made aware and I was handed a menu which had been amended to show what I could and could not have and it was made so easy and I was not made to feel a nuisance at all. All the staff were fantastic and I give special thanks to Lauren, Louise and the lovely girl with blonde hair who made me 2 delicious mojitos on our first night! The room was also very special, the décor was tasteful and everything in it was classy and spotlessly clean. We were sorry to leave today but vow to return as soon as possible. One added bonus was the Bicester Village Shopping but the main reason for returning would to again enjoy being looked after so well by the great people who work at the Chesterton who are a credit to the owners. Thanks everyone and we will be returning soon.

We had a very comfortable room, which was a good size. and in a quiet location. Service was efficient and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. We had an excellent overnight stay.
Wifi was not available in our room and we were well compensated for this inconvenience. Wifi was available in reception so it was not too much of a problem and the staff handled this extremely well.

Hotel has been refurbished since our last visit and it looks amazing!
My partner and I and our 5 month baby stayed here for his 30th birthday and the staff were brilliant and so accommodating! They set up prosecco and strawberries on our arrival and allowed me to send birthday banners to them for them to decorate our room! They were super accommodating with our baby making sure we had another room for a pram at our table at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed for her in our room!
In particular I would like to say thank you to Loren who was extremely helpful via email and made sure everything we organised for me. We will 100% be back and will continue to recommend you. Thank you :)

We stayed in Room 6. The room was quite spacious, neat, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Weird detail to note, but the remote control was filthy, it could do with being cleaned with Dettol wipes or something.
Bring your own shower gel unless you don't mind using the big refillable ones they provide. I'm not keen on that.. The hot water tap in the bathroom runs extremely hot, extremely HOT. They do have a "caution" sticker by the basin and in the shower but the sticker by the basin is easy to miss. It should be bigger, especially because there isn't a mixer tap there. Just be careful cause it does seriously burn- I'd advise that you keep an eye on young children if they were washing their hands in there. The hotel should consider making it a mixer tap instead.
There's free parking at the hotel and it's about a 7min drive from Bicester Village.
Breakfast was brought to the room for a small charge. The breakfast was OK, sausages tasted good.
The hotel in general is of a modern boutique stlye, situated in a small village. It looks recently refurbished, and there was a welcoming, friendly, young lady at the front desk.
The garden view from our room was gorgeous.
The bar looks intimate and trendy, although we did not have a drink there.
We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel but I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately. I'd give the food about 3/5. They gave us a complimentary drink for my partner's birthday which I thought was a thoughtful touch.
To conclude, I'd recommend a stay at the hotel, but would not recommend eating dinner at the restaurant.

this is the second time I've stayed at this lovely establishment as a treat for daughter's birthday.
staff were vert welcoming and I could see there has been some redecoration but the hotel has not lost its unique feel
The bedroom was scrupulously clean and the large bed provided a comfortable night's sleep.
We both enjoyed our dinner however noted the quality in the sausage wasn't as good as on a previous visit. we will be back to this lovely hotel.

Nice Hotel , Clean and ideally situated for Bicester Village shopping as its only 2 miles away .
Stayed in the hotel and used the restaurant which was very good and the breakfast the next morning was also as good .
If your travelling a long way to shop at Bicester then this is the perfect overnight stay
It was slightly dearer than a chain hotel but The Chesterton included breakfast and is quiet

We recently stayed at the Chesterton with friends and family during our wedding weekend in March 2022 and we couldn't have picked a more perfect hotel to stay. The hotel itself is flawless from all of the individual rooms to reception to the restaurant - lovely finishes, full of character and we felt like we were staying somewhere very special. Probably the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel and we were bowled over by the amount of choice on offer. Above all the staff were fantastic, they seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a brilliant stay and they couldn't do enough for us. I couldn't have hoped for more and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again in future.
