Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at The Chesterton Hotel in May whilst on a golf break at Studley Wood about 12 miles away. I was extremely impressed on arrival there is ample parking at the front. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms were very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and were all very impressed with the choice, quality and price of the food all served by the very accommodating staff. The cheeseboard was especially well presented. Breakfast the next morning was again served in the restaurant and the full English and the buffet choices were very good. All in all a very pleasant stay.

I can’t wait to come back such a hidden gem ! Shopping at Bicester village with friends, then dinner and the best cocktails ever in the hotel restaurant before we went back to our rooms. Icing on the cake was the fluffy pillows, the yummy breakfast and the super friendly staff . Thank you see you again soon !

Terrible hotel that does not respond to complaints. Awful service. Breakfast was extremely slow. The room had a light on the wall which meant the room was bright all night. Room in need of a complete refurb - tatty walls. Noisy corridors with banging doors all night. No apology from staff about complaints or issues raised and nothing resolved during our stay. Owners clearly don’t care about customer experience. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed here on Friday 10th November 2023 for 1x night. The neighbouring room to ours was playing music until the early hours of the morning, which prevented us from getting any sleep. We rung the hotel reception at the time at 1am and 1:20am to report the issue, but the music continued. I emailed reception at 1:30am to report that despite both my phone calls, the music was still playing. The music continued for several more hours and started again about 9am. Upon checking out I was informed by the receptionist that they had received my email following my phonecalls and acknowledged my complaint. She said they had tried ringing their phone and knocking on the door, however there was no answer. I heard their phone ring so am aware this is true. However, despite being told we would be contacted after the receptionist had discussed the issue with her manager, we have not heard anything. I chased via email during the week and still have not received a response from the hotel. I have given the hotel a chance to resolve this issue - both at the time of the complaint, but they were unable to stop the music - and it's now been over a week since we checked out. I expect to receive our money back, and if anything, the neighbouring room should be billed for this. We paid to stay at this hotel to sleep for the night, however, we were unable to get any sleep. I appreciate the selfish people next door did not respond to the phonecall or knocking by hotel staff, but this is not our problem. We were guests in your hotel and as an establishment you should be taking responsibility for this and compensating us accordingly. I have given ample opportunity before writing this review, to give you a chance to contact us and address the issue. Unfortunately this highlights the poor customer service and greed by this hotel. Next time we visit Bicester Village, we shall not be staying here due the your lack of response so far. In addition, when we went for breakfast the following day, we had to wait an hour and a half for our breakfast to arrive which set us back significantly for the rest of our day. Despite ordering before other tables, they received their meals first and the kitchen had clearly forgotten about us. We received no apology upon check-out but as we were assured we would be hearing from them about our noise complaint, so we assumed we may receive an apology then. There were no blinds in the dining room so our table and other tables were having to move due to being blinded by the sun. We continue to await your response and receive our compensation.

Thank you so much. This hotel is wonderful. The attention to detail is outstanding. The room was divine! I had asked for a room with a bath but as this hotel is hard to book, I agreed to a shower (this is my personal choice!) So could never complain. The staff are amazing..sorry no names I can recall but the Chap watched us struggling to eat our dessert made us laugh so much ...he jokingly said I can bag up your tiny bit of cheesecake and I'll bring it to breakfast! Super sense of humour! I guess it might be odd if there was a wedding and someone nearby decided to light the biggest bonfire as it was quite overwhelming for a bit! But it was a super night away for a couple after Bicester Village. Well done all

Glad we decided to stay at the Chesterton. Thoroughly relaxing after a fairly busy day. Beautiful hotel with beautiful grounds. Really pretty outside dining option. Lots of hassle free on site parking. Very very comfortable bed. Quiet comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our room heater was not working and instantly the young man at reception brought us a super quick heating heater. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the meal was and glad we stayed for dinner. Loved the full English breakfast sausages as well. The dining area had interesting decor, lots of black and white motifs. FYI there’s no air conditioning but there is a fan ready in the room. The towel rail was very near the toilet and for some reason the toilet in our room did not have a cover so had to move the towels. All in all loved our stay! Don’t forget to scan the QR code for extra savings in Bicester village!

We came here for Sunday lunch as a family. £29 for 3 courses The food was excellent nice restaurant. Service was ok. They didn't ask if we wanted water on the table which would of been nice. Plenty of parking outside. Would definitely recommend for dinner and will return.

Stayed here for two nights whilst attending an event in Bicester. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located in the village of Chesterton. We had a ground floor room which was in a quiet part of the hotel. The room was well equipped and had a very comfortable kingsize bed. The two free bottles of water each day were a nice touch. A good breakfast was provided. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was good value for money, although the second night had a business party which was a little noisy at times. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend.Lovely
