Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The worst experience ever! Room was dirty with coffee stains on the wall, the small balcony neglected and dirty too. Orrible bed! Unfortunately we didn' t check it before sleeping and in the morning we realized that something disgusting was stuck on the sheets that were disgusting stained too. Never seen such a bad spa before. They just gave us stained towels and once in the swimming pool, water was so cold! All around everything was totally depressing. Please avoid restaurant! Lamb was completely raw and in my plate there was a hair. Anyway, for this experience just one word: SAD!!!

On arrival was told heating, not working but there is heater in the room. The room was damp and smelly, due to there being no heating for some time. When I went to bed, the bed was so cold , looked for an extra blanket, none available. Used a spare mattress protector and my coat on the bed. Are we living in the dark ages!!! In the morning , I decided I did not want breakfast. So asked for this to be reimbursed but no ‘we only give a refund if you are not happy with breakfast’ but not if you are disappointed with your stay. With I asked why, at time of booking I was not informed about the lack of heating, the receptionist said ‘ we do not legally have to inform you’ Stay if you are happy to stay in a cold damp room. In a hotel with dreadful customer service.

We have stayed with you on a number of occasions in the last year. But I was very disappointed with my stay on 27th October. The air conditioning was not working in the rooms. At breakfast we had to wait for nearly an hour and when it arrived it was not edible. On the table next to us was a gentleman with allergies who advised staff on what he could and could not eat but was still served food that could make him very unwell. Overall very disappointed.

The Oxfordshire GC is without doubt one of the best courses in the South East. However, the course and club house clearly need huge investment and management to make better decisions. 1 person behind the bar in the morning and people queuing up to 10-15 mins for a drink isn't a great start with people also aborting breakfast orders because they wouldn’t get them in time before their tee offs. Some toilets and sinks in need of refurb and decor outdated. Small details like out of place “Stella Artois” umbrellas in the outdoor area drag the venue down and devalue it. (Perhaps have some nice blue Oxfordshire GC ones?) Pints of beer constantly being served in the wrong glass is frustrating especially when there’s dozens of them unwashed on the side. Staff walking around with shirts untucked also doesn’t look great. Excellent course layout with some amazing holes show you why this place used to be one of the best in the country! (Overall condition is a bit tired) Changing rooms and shower area were very nice with towels provided. A lot of the issues here can be fixed with basic training, a few more staff and a bit of pride! The Oxfordshire GC is an unbelievable golf venue that needs investment but also needs to focus on attention to detail in getting the basics right.

I took my friend for his birthday this weekend and I can't fault it. We had three meals, one night's accommodation and breakfast, access to the spa and massage. The staff were excellent, helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend.

Just got back from a 2 night 2 rounds of golf package , all the staff in the hotel were great and looked after us all we were a group of 10 the food was excellent and so was the bar with copious amount of Guinness drank some of the best Guinness ever had bit pricey but similar prices in London golf course was in very good shape and a very good test even of the yellow tees greens were excellent so overall a great couple of days at the Oxfordshire the only thing is the hotel could do with some new carpets and a bit of decorating in places .

My husband booked this hotel specifically for the facilities that were advertised, especially the steam room and the jacuzzi. He called the hotel to make sure that they were working, before he booked. After we checked in, we went down to the Tempus Spa. He asked the receptionist if everything was working & she told him that the jacuzzi wasn’t. I asked her when it would be fixed and she said that she didn’t know as it was Friday afternoon. We decided to still use the steam room, but surprisingly the steam room didn’t have any steam. It was just a warm room with lights. When we spoke to some of the regulars they said that there is always problems with the jacuzzi & this particular problem with the temperature had started the day before. Which means that it hadn’t started on the Friday afternoon, as the receptionist would have us believe. We were extremely disappointed, because the reason that he booked this particular hotel was for the very things that were NOT working! We feel like we were conned!
