Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a quirky B&B in a large country house. The owner could not be more helpful, even providing a taxi restaurant for us to our restaurant. The rooms are large, comfortable and well stocked. Our lovely breakfast consisted of eggs from a local neighbour, her jam is all homemade and the rates are excellent. Our bedroom overlooked the large garden where we saw deer and pheasants. Very strongly recommend.

Our stay at Langsmeade House was both refreshing & relaxing. We slept well in a big comfortable bed which was made for us every morning. Breakfast was plentiful: It was served in a room with panoramic windows, providing opportunities to see some of the birds & animals that live in the grounds. We found some nice places to dine out at night but we also brought in a couple of meals and ate them at the table in the Garden Room. This is a beautifully lit area where we could eat in style & lounge in comfort. The house was built between the wars and is very tastefully furnished to match. You can enjoy all the period features without having to dress up! Think gracious living with modern plumbing. We could happily have stayed longer and hope to visit again.

What a lovely B and B with a wonderful host. Marianne was so welcoming and made us feel quite at home. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfy. Breakfast was delicious and catered for all our needs. Thank you, Marianne, for a wonderful stay. Our only regret was that it was too short.

Really great find in Oxfordshire absolutely best place to stay, very close to local amenities and a lovely property surrounded by well maintained garden. The host Marianne is great extremely helpful and made my stay feel like another home away from home, overall best value for money for stunning get away in the countryside.

Our 2nd time at Langsmeade with a gap of 14 years. How reassuring to find that it had not altered one jot. Marianne still as concerned for her guests as last time and still providing a free taxi service anywhere up to 7 miles. Although evening meal isn't advertised, when Marianne is able, she always asks if she can share what she is cooking with guests. This can be e. g. Risotto or fish pie. On our first night she had to be at Heathrow to pick up a guest but was happy to recommend 2 excellent restaurants in Thame. Her daughter welcomed us to Langsmeade House, helping with our cases and offering a choice of tea or coffee, either in the beautiful lounge or our room. Son Alex took us to the restaurant and picked us up for the return home. On our 2nd night we arrived back just peckish and Marianne suggested a platter of delicious cheese biscuits, salad and Dutch cheeses. She produced a bottle of Malbec wine, which we didn't finish and so offered the remainder for us to take home. It's all of the above examples that make this place so loved. Marianne' breakfasts are superb; her freshly made fruit juice is only surpassed by her fresh fruit salad. The cooked breakfast is perfect, and she always offers more of everything should you so wish. Mariannes personality is what makes this place special as does he quirkiness and history of the place. You could spend a week just checking out the hundreds of books, the furniture and little collections. Thank you Marianne for another delightful stay.

Langsmeade House is a lovely place to stay. Nothing was too much for Marianne. We were welcomed with Tea/ Coffee. Her son dropped us off and picked us up from our dinner out in Thame (which was delicious - The Black Swan). Breakfast is pre-ordered and all ready for the time you select. Yummy food. Yes, ok, there were a few ladybirds, but that cannot be helped in this season, insects do as insects please - Marianne does her best to keep them at bay. The bed was VERY comfy - like sleeping on a cloud.

We stayed overnight after a wedding at Notley Abbey. Anna, the Hostess was brilliant. Quirky, interesting and really really nice (although she would probably hate that description). The rooms were big, the decore was interesting and quirky (you can never have enough frogs!!) and breakfast was superb! Overall it was great. Will be going back , just need to find a reason to go to Thame or the surrounding area!!!

This was our third stay at Langsmeade. Marianne could not have been more accommodating. We were there in the heatwave and when we arrived there were fans set up to cool the rooms as much as possible. Refreshing tea was served as we arrived. Marianne has sorted taxis for us, and double checked they were on their way. The artefacts at Langsmeade are an Aladdins Cave, fascinating. Breakfast was the usual feast of delicious fruits, yoghurt, toast and full English. We can’t wait till the next time.

We Stayed here last night with friends after a fabulous lunch at Le Manoir, Raymond Blancs restaurant. Lovely old house but what made it so special was the welcome from Marieanne the owner and superb hostess she could not do enough for us, such a treat after lockdown to stay with a lovely lady. This business like many had suffered terribly with covid and card payments machine costs were to high with no guests, so it is best to take cash or bacs pay before arriving or on mobile device. The value with the fantastic breakfast is incredible. Not a ladybird in sight. lol. We returned late pm after our meal and had brought some cheese & snacks for later, Marieanne made us the extremely comfortable lounge and allowed us the dining room to eat our own food & own drink, which was so generous. The house is so historic and akin to a stately home with very big rooms, tall ceilings it is a lovely country house, we didnt bring our dog this time but they are welcome and will do next time This B&B has won a very special award and its no surprise & highly recommended, thank you so much Marieanne we will return.
