Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Chiton House is located in a very convenient but quiet spot within easy walking distance of the town.

Rob and Melissa made us extremely welcome from the minute we arrived, always being available to offer help and advice on the area.

The room was very comfortable, with different little cakes provided every day alongside a coffee pod machine & tea making facilities.

There was an excellent choice of breakfast items all beautifully prepared. We will definitely look forward to another stay at Chilton House when we come back to the area.

My aunty and I came to Chilton House after a spa day at another nearby hotel. We were treated like royalty! Melissa and Robbie were experts! The attention to detail was phenomenal, from providing us with wine glasses and ice to have an alcoholic beverage in our rooms, to providing us with a map and route, together with feedback from other guests about the restaurant we were visiting in the evening. The rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean and had everything we needed and more - N’espresso machines, mini fridge, mini shower gels. You can choose your breakfast the night before and there is a lot of choice. The bacon was excellent quality, as was the homemade bread and Mellisa was happy to bring you more, with any other extras we wanted. The fact that she remembered our orders without asking again was brilliant. Melissa and Robbie also sat talking to us at breakfast with great conversation which was a lovely addition and made us feel like we were welcome to be in their home. The town was only a ten minute walk and there is a local co op a 2 minute drive - so the location was perfect. The ambiance in every room made it feel grand but yet homely. We would definitely recommend this place and stay here again, thank you.

Rob came to pick us up after our long hot day of hiking the Offas Dyke even though we were further away than originally planned. En route to the accommodation, he pointed out places to eat, drink etc in Oswestry. When we got to the premises, we were warmly met by Melissa who provided us with a much needed pot of tea on the patio.
The house itself is an impressive Victorian house which has been beautifully maintained and decorated inside and out. The garden is also beautifully maintained, although Rob is adamant he is not a gardener !!
Our room was beautifully presented with a shower that you could easily stay in all day.. The fridge in the room was a very useful addition.. it meant we could put the little cakes we’d been left in it for later consumption 😁..
The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious when presented..
If this wasn’t enough, we were dropped off back to the path in the morning.
All in all a perfect stay..
I would definitely recommend .

We had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay at the BnB. Breakfast was fantastic and there was plenty of choice. The location is great for the town centre and the owners knew lots of places to visit in the local area. We stayed in the monopoly room which was really comfortable. The bath and huge shower were a bonus. I would recommend staying here if you are in the area and want somewhere luxurious at a really reasonable price.

What a lovely house Rob and Melissa have in a great location in a quiet area.
The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, a very decent shower and no street noise....ideal.
The room also had a fridge and a frothy thing which Melissa showed my wife how to use it.
The location is ideal as I said it is really quiet and a short walk to town for the pubs and restaurants.
There is onsite parking (bonus) you can go through the back way to your room which is ideal.
Rob and Melissa are great hosts who we enjoyed chatting with and are full of local knowledge to enhance your stay.
Would we recommend, yes.

Unfortunately, only one night's stay to enjoy the superb accommodation and hospitality of Rob and Melissa. 'Monopoly' offered elegance and comfort beyond many 5* hotels we have stayed in. Quality tea and coffee making facilities, yummy home made cake waiting for us in glass dome cake stand, plates, napkins and comfortable chairs to sit and unwind after a long journey.... total bliss. Chilton House is not run so much as a business but to giving their guests an unforgettable experience. Breakfast.....well, you must book and see for yourselves!

Stayed overnight to break a long journey to our daghters wedding, welcomed on arrival with the offer of a drink. Melissa & Rob couldn’t have been more welcoming. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was superb. The garden is wonderful and so peaceful to sit out in with a lovely wildflower patch. Many drinks were offered and it was more like welcome guests rather than paying guests.

Rob & Melissa were very wonderful hosts, very welcoming & obliging. Beautiful large rooms, very comfortable beds and a high quality breakfast. We were walking Offa’s Dyke and the packed lunch they made for us was excellent. We have no reservation in recommending Chilton House if you are looking to stay in Oswestry.

Great location for the town or to visit surrounding area.
Our room was spacious, very comfortable and quiet with every convenience. Better than many hotels we have stayed in.
Melissa and Rob really know what they are doing and make a stay special with their warm, welcoming manner.
Breakfast is an event with a very broad choice that is prepared and presented to a high standard.
Excellent accommodation all round.
