Sebastians is an award winning 17th Century town centre Restaurant with Rooms. Mark Sebastian & Michelle Fisher have enjoyed welcoming their guests for over 28 years, who invariably return for the exceptional hospitality and comfort that is the "Sebastians Experience". There are six en-suite bedrooms, each with its own delightful character, with oak beams and brass or four-poster beds. All are individually furnished in keeping with the period of this historic building. Sebastians is renowned across Shropshire for its high standard, both in the cuisine it serves and intimate, informal surroundings. Guests can enjoy an aperitif by the log fire in the winter, or during the summer months outside on the terrace. Followed by a wonderful dining experience in the oak-panelled restaurant. The monthly-changing set price menu with choices takes you through five courses of well-crafted, French-inspired dishes.

This should really be a 7-8 🌟review if I could score it that highly! We booked Sebastian’s for a two night stay. We dined in the restaurant with members of our family on one of the nights. Right from the get-go we were warmly and cheerfully greeted by Michelle. As the car park was small, Mark immediately rushed out and helpfully helped us negotiate till we were well parked. Mark took all our cases up to our rooms and explained how we could get a much needed drink before dinner.
The enclosed courtyard was a dream of potted flowering plants, garden tables and peaceful heat trap. If you go I recommend a drink in the courtyard.
The room was absolutely gorgeous. There were beams and a four poster bed. Room beautifully decorated. Hospitality tray with the usual tea/coffee etc and some delicious home baked cookies. Well appointed ( and oh!so wonderful) a proper bathroom.
Dinner was absolutely delicious- served by helpful and friendly staff all working very efficiently in these difficult circumstances. All the courses, amuse bouche and canapés well assembled. My friend raved about his fillet steak.
As always Mark and Michelle were always on hand to assist, inform and provide a wonderful short break for us. They couldn’t have been nicer. Although due to family reasons it was meant to be our final trip to Oswestry, we have made ourselves a solemn promise to return to Sebastian’s. We both wish them much success for the future.
A big 👍👍.

We booked a last minute night away at Sebastians and had a truly fantastic experience from start to finish. We stayed in room 7 which was a really cosy spotlessly clean room on the second floor (lots' of stairs but not an issue for us) with beautiful exposed beams and a lovely bathrooms.

We ate in the restaurants and it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time, superbly presented, delicious and excellent value for money.

Breakfast followed the same pattern as was a lovely way to start a Sunday.

The hosts were friendly and could not have been more attentive, and had put every possible measure in place for COVID, we would certainly stay and eat again and would have no hesitation in recommending,

Fabulous overnight stay in Oswestry. Great central location and wonderful friendly host. They room was extremely comfortable with a espresso machine, jug of water, make up flannel and lovely fluffy towels. Bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had - real freshly squeezed OJ and wonderful bread, granola and full English !

A lovely well appointed room which was spotlessly clean, following a warm, friendly welcome was just what I needed after a long drive to Oswestry. The property has a beautiful courtyard which I would imagine is delightful in the warmer months. The hosts were helpful and accommodating. A really nice change to staying in a corporate chain hotel. I was slightly concerned that the central location might be a bit noisy given I am a light sleeper, but I didn’t hear any traffic noise. The only minor downside was the wifi signal was a little weak but otherwise everything was perfect.

My husband and I, with two lads (18 and 20 years) stayed the night this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed a five course meal and breakfast the following day.

We chose Sebastians as we drove up and over from Northamptonshire to North Wales for Zip World. After a four hour drive and a two hour experience with them, I did not intend to drive all the way back again in the same day. We were also celebrating a birthday so we decided to make the most of our journey and have a good meal and restful nights sleep.
A friend had suggested Owestry and Sebastians was an easy find with little research. Their many five star reviews were an easy sale and I booked a table for four and two rooms. Michelle was wonderful. Despite this being the first opening weekend since the restrictions eased, she fit us in.
I booked the last two available rooms which compared to the others they have, you may describe as basic by the photos. All I can say is the basic rooms were deluxe. Not expensive and the cleanliness, comfort and style was worth more than what we paid.
I am not sure how to describe the food in a way that would make you stop reading this review and just book a table at the very least.
However, I’ll give it a go.
Fresh, full of flavour, perfectly executed (thank you Madterchef) and the combination of elements for each course was devine.
The hospitality was sincere and genuine and we felt so welcome, appreciated and looked after.
To all the staff, thank you.
You finished off an amazing 50th birthday weekend in style.

Until next time!

We stayed in room 9, recently created and very nicely done too. Everything in the room was perfect and was very comfortable. Brilliant breakfast in the morning, quality produce cooked to perfection. Breakfast not included in the room rate but the room rate was very fair and the breakfast was not at all overpriced.

Could not recommend the whole experience enough !!!!

We had booked a room as we had dinner reservations that evening. For us, during these difficult times, we just wanted something local where we could enjoy ourselves and feel safe whilst doing that.
Mark and Michelle (and their family) easily excelled in delivering a marvellous experience for us. From the moment we arrived, checked in to the gorgeous Room 3 with its spa bathroom and four poster bed in the eaves, through the gastronomic delights of their October menu, all the way through to the sumptuous and relaxing breakfast in the morning, the service was out of this world.
They are wonderful people and they run a wonderful hotel. So please, book a room with them, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed for a total of four nights on two visits to the area. We had dinner on three evenings and wish we had made that four! The welcome from Michelle and Mark who were the perfect hosts, the spotless accommodation where everything was so well thought out and the intresting menus made this a total pleasure. The food was everything we hoped and more, from the amuse bouche to the petit four. So rare to find somewhere that is totally faultless.

We stayed in one of the Queen Room so we could have a bath. Your Safety is considered at every turn and the staff are very careful. There are only 2 rooms in the main building with great views of the Town. Lovely 4 poster bed, spa bath and the continental breakfast is a feast . What s is not to like.....

We stay here 3 or so times a year for no other particular reason than its superb.

Rooms are a good size and well furnished in a traditional way.

Biggest pull for us though is the restaurant. Choice is from a reassuringly short menu with more than a nod to French cuisine which changes on a fairly regular basis. All dishes are made for the highest quality ingredients, are very well presented and served by people with impeccable manners. We are fans of the Rasteau wine from their excellent cellar. Breakfasts are also to a similar high standard.

The place has been owned by the same couple for I think 30 years and what's amazing is that even though they have owned the place for so many years that they still retain a true passion for their business in all its aspects. I very rare thing nowadays.

Can't wait to be back again even though its a 3 hour drive from where we live.

One of our "happy places"
