Just back from a long weekend. We have visited a few times now and every time it gets better but retains that which makes it brilliant. It has an easy going and accepting vibe, Barnutopia is a chilled place to be. The accommodation is wonderful. Unique, comfortable, clean and warm. It feels like a family camp site only without the hassle of camping. We stayed in Camphouse Ray and it is great. Room for a family of 4. There are 2 double beds with a single bunk above one of the doubles. There are sockets, heaters and the beds are comfortable. Ray has a veranda as well which is awesome. There are now 3 kitchens. One really large posh one and 2 smaller ones for the use of the campers. They are very clean and well equipped. Each has at least one large fridge freezer with 2 in the main one. There are hot plates, kettles and tasters in them all as well. The large kitchen has a huge shelf split into the names of the Camphouses so everyone has a bespoke huge box to put their food in. This was new and works really well. Brilliantly organised. The host is really friendly and helpful. When she does breakfasts they are amazing. Well worth the price. There are fire pits for all to use with free wood for the glampers. If you are camping you pay £5 for a large bucket of wood. It is worth is and the evening spend chatting with people round the fires, toasting marshmallows and having a beer are simply a wonderful way to end the day. The site is away from the maddening crowds. It feels secure and safe. Kids and dogs run free but if you have a big dog who likes sheep a little to much you will jhave ot control them and there are sheep in the next field. Our rescue was one such dog and we had to. The smaller one not. There are good walks round it so you will have opportunity to tire them out. The showers and toilets are shared and cleaned regularly. The toilets always had paper in them and were good to use. This is a converted farm so they do not look like hotel showers and the water pressure is low but they were usable. It didn't worry me, it never has. I will be going back again and again. The sounds of wildlife are wonderful. There is NO traffic to speak of and you have 360 degrees of views. The sit is surrounded by the most beautiful hills you will see. This place is a countryside idyll. If you like camping, if you get on with people and want the campsite feel with extra comfort and warmth this is the place for you. If you have never tried it before try it here. I haven't gone into it all in detail but this place is a wonder. Most people we meet have been more than once. If you start coming you will probably meet me at some point. This is camping like it ought to be.

What an amazing site. We were a large crowd of about 60-70 people (this figure included kids), looking for an event space which could accommodate somewhere both outside and inside (in case of inclement weather). On the day we were lucky as the weather worked in our favour, but we had designed the barn for internal should it have been necessary. Ours was a family and friends event and this was such an ideal space, with enough room for the children to play without constant parental observation, but always around adults who could keep an eye on them. This led to an amazing Saturday with a lot of children enjoying themselves and adults relaxing. We utilised most of the yurts which were ideal for our event, with ample space for those bringing their own tents. Finally a word about the owner and her staff. They dealt with the meals on Saturday, lunch (pizza); dinner (hot dogs and burgers); supper (bacon butties). All this was done in a friendly relaxed way, and nothing was too much trouble, a really professional friendly group. Amazing! I would thoroughly recommend.

Just spent a fabulous weekend at this beautiful site for our mini wedding festival with family & friends It was fantastic! Katrina, Steve, their family & team were all so friendly & welcoming & they all went out iof their way to make sure everything was ok & we needed for nothing! Fantastic glamping site with all the amenities you would need. We booked the whole site for a fantastic price and everything was there for our use. It was spotlessly clean & well kept with very comfy beds & a relaxed atmosphere. Would fully recommend this venue, we had lots of comments from our guests about just what a wonderful relaxing place it was & how approachable & helpful everyone was. We were all very well looked after & we will certainly be going back! Thank you! 😊

Just had a weekend glamping to celebrate my sister's wedding. Beautiful location with stunning views. Owners Steve and Katrina and all the family and staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, food provided on evening before and morning off wedding was superb. We had afternoon tea as the reception with a buffet selection of delicious sandwiches, cakes and snacks. In the evening, there was a grill with a fab choice of burgers, hotdogs, chicken (including veggie options) and all the accompaniment followed by eton mess. Our group occupied both the yurts and small lodges which were very comfortable with more than adequate room, heating and full electricity. Shower and toilet block on site. Table linen and chair covers were also provide. Reception was held in the fairy light lit barn, which has a bar area(provide your own drinks) and a disco/dj space. In the evening we had a fire pit lit and sat around on hay bales chilling out. Added extra being cats, dogs and pet pigs to be petted and donkeys due to arrive soon. Definitely recommend for a break away or as a wedding venue.

We couldn’t have hoped for a warmer welcome from our hosts... stunning location, well appointed yurts, weather-friendly indoor and outdoor dining and social spaces and well thought out facilities. The pancake breakfast is a must too!

We booked Barnutopia for a long overdue family get-together, and it was as good a location as we could have hoped for. Situated on the border between England and Wales, the location is stunning, with rolling hills surrounding the property. We were welcomed by the owners and immediately put at ease as we were shown around the site, Our yurt (one of the two smaller ones on the lower field) was about right for two - four would probably have been a little too cosy. The bed was extremely comfortable and on the whole all of our group seemed to be satisifed with their accommodation. There is ample space on the property for both those who wish to run around and blow off steam, and those who wish to find a quiet corner to coexist very happily, and the faciities are of a good standard. The animals are also wonderful, and extremely friendly. Oswesty is around 15 mins away for any provisions you may require, and there are two beautiful waterfalls nearby, a small one a ten minute walk away, and the magnificent Pistil Rhayader a half-hour drive away. There is a village pub within walking distance should you feel the need to leave the site, but - quite honestly - your time would be better spent sat on a hay bale around one of the fire-pits in the barn, making happy memories with family and friends. Thanks to all at Barnutopia, we had a fantastic time.
