Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and my now husband got married here and I had stayed for 2 nights with lots of the wedding party! Tawry and the team have been so beyond incredible in making our day the best day ever! Every little question I had was answered and I never felt like I was ever asking for too much! They all worked so hard on the day preparing things the way I had asked and went beyond with all the hard work they put into our day! Both rooms I stayed in (including the bridal suit) were extremely clean, beds were comfortable and they were massive! All food we had was beautiful, we had 80 guest come to our wedding breakfast and we did not receive one complaint about food! We had so many positive compliments! We are excited to go back and spend another night! Would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of choosing park house hotel as their wedding venue!

We had our wedding here at the Park House hotel and wouldn’t have changed a thing looking back! The building is so beautiful, rooms all cosy and clean. The wedding suite was just perfect! Our day was magical, thanks to Tawry the wedding manager who made the process so much less stressful than planning a wedding should be. Down to every little detail Tawry had it all under control and really went above and beyond to ensure our day was special! We can’t thank her enough for everything that she did for us. The food was lovely and all guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Then the hog roast was delicious in the evening. Such a great wedding package overall and I would do it all again if I could. We are planning on booking to stay again for our next anniversary. Would definitely recommend booking your wedding here, you won’t regret it!!

Lovely staff and location , set in a quaint village . The village itself doesn’t have much to offer, but it’s nice if you just want to escape to somewhere quiet . Hotel Rooms are very tired and dated but very clean - but I think they are having an upgrade soon . Breakfast was fab . Lots of choices and staff were super efficient . Great stay and will be amazing once the upgrade is done.

Overall I loved this stay. The staff are all lovely, and the communal areas (bar, restaurant) are beautiful. My room was very clean, although its age was showing. Some mould on the bathroom sealant (the type that is impossible to clean off), a missing spacer/rest on the toilet lid, and whenever the toilet was flushed, the cistern lid would raise! But a powerful flush, which is always welcome in a hotel. The bed was so comfortable, I slept better than I do at home. There was plenty of tea coffee and milk in the room, also biscuits. The wifi was excellent - best hotel in Shifnal for wifi. Housekeeping staff are also brilliant - I was 'Do not Disturb' until gone noon, and still my room was pristine when I returned that night. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels where I would have missed housekeeping in this situation. The only real problem for me was the temperature. To be comfortable I had to turn the radiator off and leave the window open. I was on the second floor, and so presumably was getting the heat from the rest of the hotel. I suspect the hotel generally heats to around 28 degrees or more - it was positively tropical, so this may be a bonus for some people, especially in winter. But this is overall a great hotel for the price, and was quiet at night, even during the party season. It's certainly my first choice for staying in the area.

A traditional, olde style hotel with lots of charm. The room was a great size, the bed was very comfortable and a good sized and a clean bathroom. The staff from reception to the breakfast were all friendly and welcoming. Only a 5 minute walk into the lovely village of Shifnal, so location good, around the corner from the railway station and plenty of parking also

Room in outside cottage style buildings, dark and dismal, washbasin tap dripping, wash basin plug hole very very slow emptying, loose toilet seat, towel rail cold (we found the switch that the housekeeper couldn’t). Had dog so had to sit in the bar for evening meal and breakfast. Evening food overpriced and breakfast entailed a walk along the corridor to the buffet and as the door to stairs was open it was extremely cold. The meal in evening took a long time to arrive as I think “chef” was dealing with a function. The poor girl at the bar was overworked and queues got longer and all I wanted to do was pay the bill. Paid £60 for two dogs to stay, not sure why no amenities for them. Paid a lot more than is quoted on the booking sites so don’t phone the hotel direct the way I did! I don’t know when they got four stars but it can’t have been recently.

Only went in for a hot chocolate and waited 20 mins in the queue to be served. Another 10 mins whilst they made 2 hot drinks. The staff seemed clueless and when we asked for lids on the drinks we were told they had non. It would have been nice for them to let us know as we are now trying to balance the drinks without them spilling….
