A great gem of a hotel that is tremendous value for money. We all absolutely loved the bar and restaurant which serves delicious gastro pub meals and if you have special dietary requirements they are very obliging. The hotel is totally spotless and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The staff are all lovely and so helpful. A great gem of a hotel makes a great base to explore from.
Never visited before so called for lunch. Found the staff most helpful. Ordered prawn and salmon for the starter and ham, egg and chips main course. The starter was exceptional and the flavour and presentation was "spot on" so on completion we looked forward to our main course. Unfortunately this did not reach the same standard as our starter. The Somerset ham was not the quality we expected and looked a little like "plastic" ham. The chips were quite poor I.e. hard with a high proportion of small off cuts. The biggest disappointment was the 2 eggs, these were "swimming" in fat and the yolks were half over cooked. I have rated this meal 4 mainly due to the high quality of the starter but the main course was disappointing.
Stayed here to attend my nephews funeral along with about 30 other family and friends service provided by hotel second to none rooms high quality and very clean and food served in evening was lovely all fresh and very tasty as was breakfast next morning would like to stay again
Took some friends from Burnham-on-Sea out to Sunday lunch and we were very pleased with our reception, the food and the service. I had previously visited about 30 years ago when it was a 1930’s gin palace which sadly had seen better days. What a surprise awaited us, with a fresh modern decor and decent tables and chairs. Great welcome and shown to our table. The restaurant was busy but we were served promptly by extremely pleasant waiting staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and we will certainly return. A grand day out!
