Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well....where to begin ? Dated, shabby, unclean. Firstly, not in the best of areas, no personal greeting, all "remote check in". Owners must be embarrassed ! Avoid at all costs. Bed wasn't even made properly on arrival. Room smelt fusty and old. Windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned for months. Little to no parking.

Paid around £90 for 2 nights so we weren’t expecting much, but we walked in.. absolutely no staff anywhere, went up some stairs then down some stairs into what looked like faulty towers. Got to our room which was unlocked, had a bed and some drawers, went on booking.com and booked somewhere else!! Absolutely shocking and dirty. Do not recommend

I had the misfortune to stay here & i never ever do so ever afain. There is no breakfast at the B & B. i went down & was told by the cleaner that they dont do breakfasts & you had to make " your own arrangements " regarding breakfast. The first room i was put into was disgusting. All the beds there had seen better days. The handle of my room came off in my hand. The entire b & b had just hone to wrack & ruin. Its a very Faceless place. I was moved to another room & that wasn't much better. The owner dosent look after the day to day running. A pair if managers " run it" ( very badly may i hasten to add!) If you can sray elsewhere then do so!!!! I have loads more complaints about my entire experience but i fear that i would take up all of TripAdvisor's space. More negative comments then anything. YUKKKK!!!!!

This is difficult to review as everything is online/text OK first off this is on the A38 dual carriageway with no where to stop the picture they show is the frontage that is then a path and A38, as such it is a bit of a shock. That said we were on a motorcycle so rode around and back pulled into The Cross Rifle pub opposite and called the Guesthouse. I arranged for safe parking which was on a 1 wat street just before the guesthouse and was in a Company car park locked and CCTV only around the corner, that was good. You access via a coded door lock, texted to you before arrival, we got in and the room was directly to the right of the door. This put it opening to the A38, window to the left of the blue door. The room had high ceilings double glazing and was clean and tidy with neat en suite WAY cleaner then Butlins one. There was a good choice of teas / coffee and the usual kettle etc. As it was warm we had to open the window but the traffic noise Fri evening was rather irritating. Across the road is a retail park with Sainsburys and a couple of restaurants. Once the rush hour traffic died it was not too bad, shutting the windows DID shut out the noise. The bed was comfy and we managed a good nights sleep It is a bit weird not actually seeing anyone. In conclusion it was clean and basic ok for a stopover not sure we would chose to sty there again tho' to be fair I would rather pay a bit more to have parking and at least someone on reception, a Premier Inn or Travelodge would be better at similar price.

Booked here last minute as decided to extend our holiday by one night & was unable to find accommodation in Cornwall due to Freshers week. Booked 2 rooms, mistakenly booked a shared bathroom & was dubious regarding the COVID 19 pandemic & was informed that it next to the room and nothing else available. Contactless check in & communication was acceptable regarding entry. The owner messaged me earlier regarding payment so I called & everything was sorted. Parking was a nightmare! Arrived & unable to get hold of the owner regarding best place, a conversation earlier I was unable to understand due to mobile phone signal. I spoke to a couple guests & they explained they were the same and parked in a side street. Eventually found a space. Possibly more information regarding parking on the contactless check in message would have made my mark higher as in an area later at night trying to find a space made us feel very dubious, especially when there’s lots of drunks, sirens & shouting nearby. A comfortable nights stay none the less but it wasn’t for us. Stained carpets, shabby decor which looked stained with nicotine. Very basic & cleanliness acceptable adhering to COVID 19 regulations, however prior to leaving I found a cigarette stub underneath the bed! If you were too book, definitely use the private bathroom as I didn’t like the shared aspect so I didn’t use for showering. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for us & I think in future I’ll stick to what I know but the price reflects the stay.

My stay at Admiral Blake was for a period of 3 months and during that time I was very comfortable, welcomed and felt right at home. Both Will and Laura were very accommodating and always answered any of my questions. Would definitely recommend to others needing a homey place to stay whilst in Bridgwater.

Best hosts I've ever met, so lovely and friendly and very helpful. I'd recommend room 14 if you have a dog, it opens out to the lovely little garden so my dog could have a wander instead of being stuck in the room. They have a great set up with a comunal kitchen with little bottles of milk in the fridge. Ive seen critisism of no kettle etc in room bht they've maybe altered that because we had kettle, tea, coffee and sugar, i recommend booking the secure parking just around the corner £5 a night. Just off the M5 so ideal stayover if heading to Cornwall, wasnt particularly impressed with Bridgewater but the Prezzo was lovely for an evening meal.

My Fiancee, 18 Month year old Son and I found ourselves a bit stuck when one of us had booked a well known Discount Holiday Resort in Brean-Sands without reading the reviews! We found the Admiral Blake on an off chance, desperation and just as we were going to drive 3hrs back home... I am glad we did. Not only could they accommodate us, but they made adjustments to suit the situation we were in. There were things that the Management did that aren't included in the price. Namely helping us to get to the destination from the middle of nowhere. Looking after/adopting the facilities to ensure safety and comfort for the little guests. They were also available around the clock. The cleaning staff got on with their duties without distracting the quests. At one point I had actually though they were guests! There were also a lot of cleaning and sanitising equipment available at all the shared spaces and building entrances. I though the parking would be an issues but once again the Management were quick to provide an efficient alternative. Thank you Admiral Blake GH.
