The Admirals Table Bridgewater by Marston's Inn is often celebrated for its warm ambiance and welcoming atmosphere, although the decor shows signs of wear according to some visitors. While reviews on its value and room quality vary, with discrepancies in pricing and occasional noise complaints, the majority of guests commend the cleanliness, notably the showers and towels.
The inn's amenities, including the comfort of the rooms and the pet-friendly policy, are popular, but not without occasional reports of less impressive experiences. Service at the hotel is typically regarded as friendly and obliging, despite occasional lapses in promptness.

Booked a table for Friday the 14th 6.15. This was for a menu for 2 course for 2 people. Booking was excepted. Within half an hour of booking was phoned to be advised on fortunately grill broken so no steaks etc available. There would be other options ie scampi pies and so on, so decided to go. Was seated on arrival and drinks ordered. We then tried to order starters of the special menu advertised, then oh dear 2 out of 5 unavailable. Went to main grill now working again so happy days. Ordered dessert of menu, cream, ice cream or custard was asked, I replied cream, a lady came back to table to say all cream out of date, choose another. So no prawns out of date cream well needless to say for 6.15 on one of the busiest occasions of the year very poor I must say. Good luck for the future, a lot of room for improvement unfortunately

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. Yes we did have a failure of equipment late in the day and being a late Friday we were unable to get the equipment fixed. It was more than justt a gill that failed - the electric failed and all products prepared for service in the fridges had to be destoyed, as we would not serve foood that had been out of food temperature range. This did leave us short on a few items and for this we appolagise. We did manage to source an alternative grill in time for main service, this allowed us to put grilled items back on sale. As you mentioned my team did call all guests and explain the unforseen equipment failures and did give you the informed choice to continue to did with us. as im sure you can appreciate equipment does fail from time to time without notice and we do what we can in these surcumstances. kind regards Peter and team

This hotel is very convenient for travellers on the M5. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the place is rather tired. It could do with some TLC. There was no luggage stand and not many places to put stuff down. The roof outside the window (of room 9) could do with a clean up to remove the moss and rubbish. The bathroom needs a good going over to clean up the silicone sealant. There was no TV remote in the room, but the staff raided one from another room! Apparently, people who stay here are a bit sticky fingered. The food in the restaurant is pretty typical pub food, although the curry was very acceptable. The special (beef bouginoin) was tasty, but the meat was a bit solid. The breakfast (which we didn't have) looked very good as we passed. I'm not sure I'd recommend thisplace. I doubt we will return.

Went here for a family meal last Friday. Noted the 2-4-1 pricing structure, this works in your favour if you have an even number but not quite if you have an odd as the the individual meals are a bit on the expensive side for what they are.
We ordered with Gemma who was very friendly and offered to swap my beer as the Hobgoblin tasted off.
My wife had the vegan burger which she said was ok but could have been a bit more imaginative. It also came out with a pot of normal coleslaw which luckily she checked and gave back before having!
A good selection of desserts with tasty vegan options.

My husband and I have just stayed at the Admirals Table with our 7 month old daughter. We wanted a change of scenery for a few nights and everywhere we looked for on the coast was charging over the odds for a couple of nights.
The reality...it’s on the side of an A road, a little noisy with the windows open, and you need to drive to visit places.
When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely man, helpful and efficient. The bar was clearly laid out due to Covid restrictions. We were given tea, coffee and water for the room, it was done in advance so no one was entering the room but us, and so we knew it was all fresh. A simple yet effective gesture to demostrare the good hygiene. Our room was very big, plenty of room for our travel cot and for some toys on the floor! The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was very clean and good shower!
Not only was the room very good, but we ate in the pub both nights we stayed and the meals were 241. This only added to the good quality of the stay.
We visited local areas - Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham beach, and a lovely harbour town called Watchet.
It was just what we needed and we’d definitely return!

So pleased that you enjoyed your stay and made the most of our 2-4-1 offer. Glad we could be your little home away from home, and little one was a pleasure to see. Sadly yes the road can be a little noisy at times, winter is perfect as the windows keep the noise out sand the heat in, but being where we are most areas are a quick drive if not a little scenic. I look forward to seeing you all next time you need that escape. Many thanks Rus

8 people waiting to be served at the bar only one member of staff on duty - Sunday lunch time ?! Our table was situated at the top of the steps to the bar as was the table behind leaving a six inch gap for people to walk through with drinks and food in their hands. Constantly getting bumped or moving all through lunch. Queue at the bar has risen to 15 and now we have to queue for a refund as no starters are available!!!!
Finally get to the carvery meat is tasteless and cold cauliflower cheese burnt on the top and stodge underneath NOTHING HAD ANY TASTE

We booked Christmas Dinner at Admirals Table as it was the first year as a married couple and we thought it would be a lovely treat. We waited 40 minutes before we got seated. We had to wait a further 20 minutes before the starter arrived and that was after two attempts to chase this from servers who were running all over the place! Once the starter arrived, it was laughable....my husband received a soup with salad (too weird) and it actually looked like someone else’s leftovers, the bowl was more than 3/4 empty. my garlic/cheesy mushrooms were OK. no-one came over to ask if everything was alright and no-one asked if we needed drinks. We were ignored! The table sat next to us had an incident where the large mirror from the wall fell on the older lady, so I jumped up and took the weight of the mirror off her, after 5 mins staff came to help with the mirror and they took it away. this did upset the family and even though she wasn't hurt, she was really shaken up! i went to bar and ordered another round of drinks and asked if we could que for the carvery. the woman behind the bar said, as long as its just the two of you (i don’t know what was meant by that). so, we queued for another 15 minutes to get a very sorry looking carvery. no gravy, overcooked stuffing and cold veg. the table hadn’t been cleared from our starter and no staff were around. we waited for our mains to be cleared and still nothing. We chased our dessert and nothing. the atmosphere in the restaurant was awful and people were naturally upset. We went to the bar and said we were not going to have dessert and not going to pay as frankly they had ruined our Christmas Day treat; we would have been better going to McDonalds!

Absolutely horrendous from start to finish! Traveled out to have a carvery, table booked for 5pm waited by the door to be seated to realise that wasn't the process asked at the bar who said "take a seat, choose your meal, order at the bar!" so we did. Quickly discovered there was no carvery so continued to order steak, none of that either! starters came appart from my daughters also the salsa they had offered didn't come so asked at the bar, very quickly it arrived. Mains came and was told there was no ketchup! 10 mins later seen a waitress walking past with ketchup for another table
my main was supposed to the the ultimate southern fried chicken burger American cheese, hash brown, burger sauce, and salad with a seeded bun and a gravy for dipping chips! what I got was a small bun with a piece of chicken and a tiny piece of salad! and a mound of fries and no gravy. I called the waiter to ask where the rest of my burger was to be told I must have only ordered a chicken burger from a different menu. I showed him the menu and he went and got the manger who also argued about another menu which I asked her to show me and she couldn't! then informed me there was no cheese but she could ask the chef to cook my bacon and hashbrown so that I can add it to my already now cold food. No thanks!!! 5 minutes later my daughter stopped eating "can't eat it mum it's got a hair in it" 🤢 to which I'd had enough and we paid for just the drinks and left. I can't believe how bad it was as we were leaving other people were also complaining.

Food is average. If it wasn’t for the two for one offer on main courses, I would have complained. We both ordered burgers, which you only have the option of double, triple of mega… no single. They were supposed to be served in a bun with the relevant toppings, lettuce and sauce. Neither of which came with lettuce and sauce, which proved eating an already dry burger rather unenjoyable. Not to mention the fact it was priced at £14! Which for a below average burger is overpriced.
Wasn’t too impressed with the lack of service. We had to find our own menus, cutlery & sauces, and were not once asked how our food was. Probably won’t return for a while.

Booked last minute as an overnight stay, greeted by Peter, who couldn’t do enough to welcome us. The price was for room only, which was exceptional. We booked an evening meal and was pleased with the selection. COVID had, obviously, affected the running of the The Admirals Table, but everything was clear and very safe. We booked a breakfast too and this was very hearty and hosted by Sue, who also could not do enough to make us welcome. An enjoyable stay, which we would certainly go back to and would definitely recommend.

Currently staying at Admirals Table and I have to say it's the best place I've stayed in!. I'd highly recommend. The staff are friendly, the food is just lovely and I couldn't ask for any more from the bedroom!. Lovely large double bed which is more like a king bed and a cozy single bed. Absolutely huge room!. My favourite is the en suite. Most hotels I have stayed in have tiny bathrooms and plumbing issues, I have to say I've had the best shower I've ever had. Large enough for 2 people with room to spare!. Rooms are quiet and you don't hear the traffic. I will certainly be returning to this charming Inn!.
