My partner and I enjoyed a pleasant relaxed stay here. The hosts were warm and friendly and would do anything for their residents. The b&b oozes character. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is tucked away off the main road next to a stream so very peaceful. The atmosphere inside was cosy and charming. Lovely music being played at breakfast made for a relaxed informal breakfast. Their lovely dog was very cute, so chilled well behaved. The rooms were comfy and clean snd extra touches in the room like sparkling water, hot chocolate, and the most splendid white port were nice. The location is very central, you may have to use a public car park if you’re not fortunate enough to get a free space on the street. But we got lucky there! A lovely pub is a mere stones throw away doing great food, and an excellent Thai restaurant down the road meant there is always somewhere to eat in walking distance. All in all, a great place to stay in an excellent location to explore exmoor and Somerset.

Alison and Charles are very welcoming, and do their best to ensure a relaxing stay. We had arrived by bicycle, and they provide a secure shed at the back of this gorgeous property to keep your bikes. We were given a lovely family room, which was very comfortable, and had all we needed. Breakfast was very friendly, and they did all they could to set you up.for the day ahead with a lovely array of food. Overall, I could not recommend this B and B more highly, and loved all that it and the owners had to offer.

What a fantastic stay!!!! We were welcomed at checkin time by Alison who straight away made us feel so at home after a long drive down on Saturday. Our room was perfect for us and Alison really took the time to set us up for our stay. She even made sure breakfast time was altered for us the next morning so we could get out on the road in good time to beat the race to the beaches. The room was great for our small family and the breakfast was simply amazing! The star of the stay was undoubtedly Rufus who our kids doted on whenever they could! The added bonus of the signed John Elway shirt in the dining room too for keen NFL fans like me! Thank you so much Alison and Charles (and Rufus) for making us so welcome here. We can't wait to come back in the Summer again.

We stayed in room number 6 on the top floor. The bathroom is not en suite but is just around the corner from the room and there are no other people on that floor of the property, so privacy is not an issue. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, with TV, hair dryer and even white Port provided. Note that anyone over 5' 10" (178 cm) in height should be cautious of the low beam in the centre of the room. The freshly made full English breakfast was excellent, and far better than the breakfasts in many hotels I have stayed in. The owners, Allison and Charles, are charming and I highly recommend Town Mills.

A delightful break, looked after beautifully by Alison at Town Mills. We recommend the Junior Suite, with its comfortable sitting room. The breakfast is freshly cooked and very tasty. The picture is the bridge over the river Barle.
