Stayed here overnight. First problem was getting any staff to notice us. Three bar staff simply looked through us / away from us till we 'ahem-ed' and fussed a bit. The room was lovely and a problem with the heating was sorted out. No system in place at breakfast, with no greeting or advice to customers, and staff clearly unable... More

Stayed at the George Hotel for one night before visit to Bath Spa University. We found the staff very nice and helpful. The room was well decorated, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was full English and very tasty. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Frome so easy access to all the local shops. The hotel does have... More

Loved hotel and the room. Had to go up and down loads of stars to get to room but we liked this as it felt hidden away. Room was cold and no heating until I the radiator and turned it on. Took ages to heat up but fine when up to temperature. The full English breakfast was tasty but the... More

We stayed here for one night. Our room was spacious, very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful and very tasty. Free, covered parking is a bonus, as is the hotel's close proximity to the Cheese and Grain, our destination for the evening. This was our third visit, and the accommodation and service improves each time. See you... More

We spent one night here, and we found it very good. This is a historic market town central hotel - it's right in the heart of this fascinating town, with loads of great pubs and restaurants just a few minutes' walk away. And The George itself is a reasonable pub. The building is a bit rambling, and getting to our... More

Popped in here for a drink. Surrounding very clean with a classic design. Staff very friendly and the wine is great and not that expensive. Toilets clean.and tidy. All in all very pleasant experience.

A lovely room (reached down a maze of steps and corridors - not one for the frail!) and the staff in the bar/restaurant downstairs could not have been more friendly or helpful. Busy market place outside - there is traffic noise - but just a 1 minute walk up to St Catherine's Hill, a fantastic pedestrianised street full of high... More

I have stayed at this hotel many times and always find it to be very welcoming. I usually stay in the room with the four poster which is lovely. This time I stayed in room four which was very comfortable with a huge bathroom. Restaurant is good quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast is also great.

Staff have been very helpful and accommodating. Disabled car parking right at the front. Few stairs to get to room but manageable. Breakfast included in my booking. Reasonable rate. Thoroughly recommended.
