Although pre ordered booking the service was appalling.. some of us had travelled to this venue from a fair distance..The food quality was not much better..it was a total disappointment.. We went elsewhere for dessert and coffee.. Never again..

Very friendly and helpful staff, this is a well run small hotel which is clean and well equipped for a short weekend stay. The pub restaurant has the usual selection of meals which should meet the vast majority of needs. The car park is a bit small and tight to get into but

Stayed on saturday for one night. We had room 1 at the front of the hotel. A lovely room with a scrumptious king sized bed. It was clean and beautifully presented with a large bathroom..no bath but a lovely powerful shower. The food in the hotel is first class with a gluten free

I really wanted to like this place more, having had family lunches here in the past. But it didn't quite deliver: room large but tatty fittings in places, with occasional hot water. Food not served after 8pm (on a Friday evening) so had to go out elsewhere. Car parking

I was pleased with the room I'd been allocated on the top floor. A well equipped and decorated room with a modern bathroom. The only disappointment was that the bathroom ran out of hot water. I ran a bath on the night of my stay and was miffed to find the water stopped when only

Hi. Sorry about delay, just picked up your question. Yes the George is in a very central location, in fact the George hotel is one of the local pubs itself, there are lots of other pubs and resturant’s very nearby, some do music and quizzes, nice chinese up the hill opposite. They have also got a couple of ‘tap rooms’ which have a selection of craft ales, some of the shops are pretty quirky as well. Right outside hotel is main bus routes to Bath. Car park is a challenge to find and navigate, go up beside hotel turn right in front of cinema, car park is literally under cinema. If you have a large vehicle it might be difficult, standard car no problem with care. Neil

"front rooms overlook the main street so a bit noisier late at night."
"If noise levels are a concern, ask for a room at the back and if you have problems with stairs, ask not to go on the top floor."
"Back of the hotel only"
"Rooms in the other part of the building to the main hotel seemed to be bigger and more nicely decorated."
"Rear rooms are quieter because of the boisterous crowd who are outside on a Friday and Saturday night."
