We had a lovely stay at The George. The staff were super friendly, great food and they even make a mean Bloody Mary!! The room was faultless and the breakfast was perfect. An ideal place to stay if you are going to The Cheese and...More
A nice hotel the room i had was superb and the bathroom was huge. Very clean rooms Great staff very friendly indeed. Good free wifi signal throughout and free car parking. The breakfast was very good as well.
Place chosen by tour director. Nice public dining room, although group dining room has no way to open windows (or at least, didn't offer it to our group on VERY muggy night in May). Scaffolding outside room unfortunately offered opportunity for drunks to climb up...More

We had room 7, and I wish I’d asked to be moved. It was very hot, although an electric fan was provided. The bathroom was tiny. The worst part was the noise outside, both late at night...More

Hi. Sorry about delay, just picked up your question. Yes the George is in a very central location, in fact the George hotel is one of the local pubs itself, there are lots of other pubs and resturant’s very nearby, some do music and quizzes, nice chinese up the hill opposite. They have also got a couple of ‘tap rooms’ which have a selection of craft ales, some of the shops are pretty quirky as well. Right outside hotel is main bus routes to Bath. Car park is a challenge to find and navigate, go up beside hotel turn right in front of cinema, car park is literally under cinema. If you have a large vehicle it might be difficult, standard car no problem with care.
