My Husband and I have been regularly going to Moorhouse for a few years now with our dog and it just gets better. Simon and Helena work tirelessly to ensure that every need is met and the little touches such as a kettle and microwave, plug sockets for charging mobile phones, under cover seating and BBQ area with lighting are all provided free of charge. The shared facilities are spotless and cleaned regularly and they have a really homely feel with flowers and pictures which is a lovely touch. Every year in July we attend as a large family group and are all camped together which is lovely. To top it all off there is brilliant phone signal and internet and all TV Channels. The local pub is an easy walk up the track so you arn't on the main road and its also dog friendly. The Cottage Inn which is a 10 min drive does a lovely Sunday Roast and is also Dog Friendly.
Compared to other sites Moorhouse is by far my favorite as the owners don't constantly check up on you and tell you off every 5 minutes like some we have been too and the amount of space you get is huge without that crammed in feel you can sometimes get on Campsites.
I cant recommend this place enough.

We stayed at this wonderful, clean, well-kept campsite. Upon arrival we were greeted by the chickens and goats. We stocked up on the wood for the camp fires from the lovely little shop that hosts an honesty box when unoccupied. The site is beautiful, the owners are welcoming and relaxed. They have thought of everything you need, when away from home. A microwave, fridge, freezer, launderette and a carved wooded seating area to congragate in by the fire pit. The washing facilities are clean with fresh flowers and lots of quirky pictures and old fashioned signs greet you throughout the site. A lovely, lovely little gem. We'll worth a visit.

Stayed during a busy May half term week. The campsite never felt crowded though and the pitches are flat, well kept and very spacious with plenty of room around you. It struck me that some campsites would cram in twice as many campers.
Facilities were kept very clean and rubbish/recycling areas frequently emptied. Good, hot powerful shower in family rooms, but shower in ladies was a bit of a luke warm dribble!
We were staying as just our tent, but lots of others were in groups and could see lots of effort made to allow groups to camp next to each other. There are 2 pods which looked basic but comfortable. Would work well if there are non campers in your party as campers can pitch next to them.
Only minor quibble would be that being so accommodating to groups means that large groups of children tended to free range/play all over the campsite until quite late into the evening. I get that this part of the joy of camping though and an inevitability of camping in school holidays on a campsite with a nice, relaxed vibe. There is a 10.30 quiet time, but noise seemed to go on past this without any enforcement.
Would definitely stay again.

Thank you so much for your detailed review, we really appreciate your feedback and so thrilled you had a lovely time. At busy times our showers can be a little less powerful, however the wet rooms and also shower in the disabled loo can be used with children. We are also reviewing our group numbers. This is due to the current Covid situation and also to make sure we are providing a site that suits everyone’s needs. We are currently carrying over groups from 2020 when sadly we were unable to open. Our policy is to have no noise after 10.30pm. This is clearly stated on our website, Pre-arrival emails, on notice boards and maps we give every customer on arrival. We do go and ask campers to quieten down at 10.30, 11 and then again at 11.30pm at busy times. However sometimes this is difficult to enforce. Again this is something we are reviewing. Sadly many sited do not allow group booking due to noise and the effect on other campers. We are pleased you still gave us 5 *’s and would return in the future, we are always trying to improve and keep all our campers happy 😃

Visited here several years back and think it’s changed hands since. Love what the new owners have done to the place - they have made a really nice campsite even better. Very thoughtful touches all over the place from the washing up liquid in the sink areas to the wheelbarrows for the logs. A really nice place to stay - well done to the owners for getting it spot on.

What a fantastic campsite!

Beautifully kept grounds, with an emphasis on letting the kids roam free, with plenty for them to do including petting the animals. My son loved sitting on the old tractor by the reception!

The staff are brilliant here, they work so hard to run the site, keeping the place and facilities clean.

Loved the firepits too, £10 for half a wheelbarrow of wood, £20 for a full wheelbarrow, a full one easily lasts the night!

A short 15 minute walk from the nearest pub (Plough Inn) I highly recommend it the food was excellent!

All in all, Booked here for 2 nights as our first family camping experience, but decided to extend to 3 nights as we had such an amazing time, this is family camping how it should be done and how I remember it growing up.

This is a lovely laid-back campsite which makes you feel comfortable from the minute you arrive - stepping off grid. As you move around it's clear that whilst it is laid back....they are also super serious about keeping you safe and keeping things clean. great fun for kids with the playground, lots of space and fresh air. BBQ area, kettle and fridge are a great addition.

We booked a weekend at Moorehouse for our first camping trip in a tent,
The camp site is clean well looked after and very welcoming, The staff on site are very friendly and very helpful if you have forgotten anything and they have one on site they happily lend it you.
The facilities go above and beyond from very clean shower cubicles and toilets to an electric kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and freezer also and electric pump for airbeds for all to use all they ask is for people to treat things with respect and put items on charge when needed.
I will defiantly be booking with Moorehouse again absolutely brilliant weekend, I would highly recommend this campsite, affordable for family's or couples great. location beautiful views.

Having booked our first campervan holiday (along with the rest of the UK) this year, we decided to move each night and try a new locaion. In itself this may not have been so smart a move, but I am so glad we did because it meant we got to spend our 3rd night in this superb campsite. I did not feel compelled to review any of the others, as they were nothing special, but this place just has the most picturesque location, farm buildings, and friendly, helpful owners. Then pitches are not rammed in next to each other. There are fire pits and bbqs available for all to use, loads of benches and seats, washing up facilities, laundry, of course showers and wash rooms etc, kids plat area, open fields, plenty of animals, fresh eggs and logs available to purchase as well as other bits and pieces in the shop. Facilities perfect, aspect gorgeous on every side, kids can be free in the safety of the site. None of the other sites we have visited this week even vaguely compare. Thank you Helena and Simon.

We stayed here for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The site is nestled below the Quantocks a short distance from Kilve beach. Lovely site, well kept and organised. The facilities were clean and attractive, nice homely touches everywhere. Chickens roaming around the site, lovely play area in the middle of the large tent field so you could relax by the fire pit and safely keep an eye on the kids. Dedicated bbq hut for a communal bbq if you didn’t bring your own. Felt welcome from the very start, really pretty friendly site with lovely views. Certainly recommend. We will be back! Thank you! C Chapman

We stayed here 22nd - 25th July and this was our first camping trip in a long time. The site is immaculate and well thought out with different sections for camping and caravans. There are a number of covered washing up areas which also have washing up liquid and sponges which is a helpful bonus. The shared fridges and freezer are also great for keeping things cool.

My 10 yr old loved all the animals, (chickens, goats, sheep, cats, but especially holding the Guinea pigs! The fresh pastries at the weekend are also a lovely treat.

There is lots to do nearby Kilve beach is amazing for rock pools and fossils, and there is a tea rooms. Equally if you are a group with children they are likely to play happily all day while you can relax.

Special thanks also to Helena for rescheduling, at very short notice, some of our group booking when we had a family bereavement, this was above and beyond and means a lot that we can still go away together, we're looking forward to it next weekend!

Hi, we are close to the A39, but the camping site is down a lane and very well stocked with trees. There are no problems with traffic noise. Many thanks, Moorhouse Campsite 😊
