Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had stayed before and this stopover was equally good. Nice comfortable bedrooms, great breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent with a lovely atmosphere. It's the ideal place to break a journey to Cornwall. Many thanks to Sarah and the team.

A very pleasurable and relaxing lunchtime visit. Nice atmosphere in a well 'up together' pub. Attentive service from cheerful staff who made us feel very welcome. Decent menu with choices for a pescatarian. Will certainly be visiting again.

We booked here for 4 adults and 3 teens for Sunday lunch as it's halfway between our houses. We double checked that it was OK to take our little terrier, which it was. We had a fantastic experience all round. Lovely food (we had 3 x roasts, 2 x fish and chips and 2 x tagines, plus a few puds, all of which were fab). Service was friendly and attentive despite how busy the pub was. Decor was lovely. Highly recommend and will certainly be back. Thank you!

We ate here last night, and had the chicken and the lamb, followed by Pimms Jelly and sticky toffee pudding (that was me!) All the food was excellent ... we have paid more for inferior fare, in much posher places. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was brilliant too. Highly recommended.

Very good quality food. We had the roast beef. Lovely fresh vegetables 😁 Also, unbelievable Yorkshire puddings 👍 Plenty of gravy, in a gravy boat. We also had a dessert each. My wife had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the dark chocolate ganache with raspberries and amaretti biscuit . Lovely

We'd never been here before and had no preconceptions, however, we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by friendly and efficient staff. Our meal was a cut above the average, and very enjoyable. We would return.
