I stay at many premier inns with work and always find them comfortable as I always know what I’ll get , even where I can charge my phone however what made me write a review is the staff
I stayed here a few nights each week over the last 4 weeks and have to say it’s a great hotel. Located just off the M5 it’s fairly new and has ample parking . Because of covid restrictions it’s important to get a booking for breakfast as they are not doing buffet breakfast and have to have less people seated , it’s the same with evening meal and getting a table
However that staff are doing a fantastic job trying to please everyone under unprecedented times
They are so professional and helpful and even when the restaurant was closed the early part of my stay gave recommendations of food delivery services
Rooms are not cleaned as often if you stay for a few days , again due to covid restrictions but this is understandable and if you need change of towels etc the staff always have a smile on their face and nothing is too much trouble
Special mention to
Emmy , Zac , Charlene , Mariah , Josie who after 4 weeks I’ve witnessed some of the challenges they have faced yet they have represented themselves and Premier inn with the utmost professionalism
Thank you to you all for making my stay feel comfortable and safe

Nervous to travel at first but there was no need - this Premier Inn was spotless and all staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful.

We booked breakfast and although different to the previous buffet offering was still very good.

You still order whatever you want but you are served. And boy weren't they having to work hard to get the breakfasts etc out.

Couldn't fault it!

We stayed as a family of 5 with our two elder children in an interconnecting room. The extra space and convenience of the rooms ajoining was a nice feature.

The hotel is well located just far enough off the motorway that you are unaware of it but close enough its very easy to find at the end of a long journey and easy access as a gateway to the SouthWest.

The big help yourself hot and cold buffet breakfast, served allowing for a lie in, was a nice expereince allowing everyone their own selection.

Staff were very friendly, rooms clean and modern, beds comfortable - appreciated actual beds as the extra child beds in the room and still having space to move around them.

Basic wifi in the room was adequate for a bit of streaming and being online, option to not have the room serviced daily was also quite a nice feature.

I phoned in advance of arriving asking if it was ok for 5 of to stay in one room as my children are young and my wife won't sleep alone. I was told this was OK. Upon arrival I was forced to buy a second room at a more expensive rate than the family room I paid for. I pointed all of this out and was told no the manager will not honour the same price, let you stay in the same room or give you a cheaper price. So left with no other alternatives I had to pay for a second room. Receptionist was very unhelpful and manager would not speak with me. We therefore could not sleep as my wife didn't want to be alone with the children. I tried to claim under the sleep guarantee but was told this doesn't apply.

This premier inn is a great hotel. always excellent standard and very helpful members of staff. Check in was very simple and hand sanitising stations were everywhere. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.

This was our second stay and we would definitely book again. The rooms are spotless and you can tell the staff have extra measures in place due to covid 19. Masks are requested in all public areas which I think is a good idea, although you always get some people who can't be bothered.
You have to book a slot for breakfast which helps the restaurant maintain social distancing.
During our second stay, breakfast was really busy and some of the food was over cooked and a bit cold.
At one point there was only one member of staff (Emmie) serving in the restaurant but she did an amazing job! She was absolutely rushed off her feet but she kept smiling 😊 Huge thank you to her!
Plenty of parking even though the hotel was full.
Would definitely recommend.

Location is handy for the M5 motorway but a rather soulless Industrial Park.
Our room was very clean and bedding comfortable, however their AC system left our room far too warm and difficult to sleep during night, Guest has no control over AC just heating which of course was not required at this time of year.
Breakfast was up to the usual high standard of Premier inns but their evening "Thyme " bar and bistro left much to be desired. Service was exceptionally slow which we feel was caused by understaffing, so much so that when 75% of tables were empty we were told we would have to wait an hour for one to become available. We saw a number of disgruntled customers having similar experiences. A number of the evening restaurant staff gave the impression that they would rather be elsewhere and interacted as little as possible with customers. They were a very poor advert for PI.

It is with regret that I can only rate this establishment as average.

The hotel is fine. Fairly new and the room was clean with an easy chair (rather than a sofa bed) and a fairly comfy bed. What I cannot get over is the restaurant situation. I chose this hotel location for my business trip and am usually happiest staying within a hotel (travelling on my own in an unknown area) however I was told when I checked in that the restaurant was fully booked for evening meals. As I was staying 2 nights I asked about the second night…. No, she said, it’s full tomorrow night too. I was told there were 2 restaurants across the road. I booked a table at the compass tavern (which serviced delicious food) but when I was leaving the hotel to go across the road, there were only 3 tables occupied in the hotel restaurant. When I returned 2 hours later there were no more than 8 tables occupied. How is that ‘full’? Whilst I was in the Compass, several parties came in to eat stating they were from the premier inn…. So this was obviously a common theme. Not sure what is going on or why they don’t seem to want people to eat there…?
Moral of the story… don’t rely on the fact that a PI has a restaurant to mean that you’re going to be welcome to go and eat in it!

We stayed here on the way back from our Cornwall Holiday (12/9/2020). Considering this is a brand new hotel there were a lot of teething problems. The room we were in was fine, we had no issues with that. But the dining aspect was a big let down. The meals were fine but the condiments that were brought to us (mayo, sauces etc) some were out of date. There wasn't any mayo available so my partner had to have salad cream. But upon opening it and putting it on her plate it looked a funny dark colour. I looked on the packet it came out of and the date was January 2020. Now why they still had these with a date of January 2020 on it, I don't know. I checked some others in there. And there were at least 3 packets all out of date ranging from March 2020 to August 2020. So that was the first problem. The morning after when we sat down for breakfast we discovered my partners mom had a tea stain ring in her cup (which was supposed to be cleaned) so we had that changed. Then we had a wait for our food because the restaurant was chronically understaffed. And then yet another snag, they brought our breakfasts out, and we had no cutlery! We had to wait, while one member of staff went out the back to get some. So all in all not the best experience we had here. The hotel is understaffed. Whether that was due to Covid19 I don't know. But being as there is a Holiday Inn across the road from here, you'd think they'd up their game. Won't be staying here again. Maybe give Holiday Inn our custom next time we're in the area

I honestly don't know where to start. On arrival everything was okay. I booked 3 x family rooms for the stay however I wouldn't really say these were family rooms. You could not walk between the 3 beds and there was a double, a single and a single camp bed squashed in the middle of the 2.
We chose the Premier inn as I know the standards there have always been quite high. Unfortunately that was not the case at our most recent visit to the Bridgwater North location.
Upon arrival to our room I was appalled. Considering we had to check in late for additional cleaning due to COVID I did not expect to find a dirty room. We turned the air con unit on and dust flew out from the vents...this made us check the full room.
The beds were dirty, there was a spot of blood on one of the beds, yellow crusty substance inside the sheets on the same bed (I will leave this to your imagination), and makeup on the pillows. The kids beds were just as bad, they had grey dirty stains on the bedding and dirty pillows.
I ran my fingers along the top of the TV and the mirror unit and they were absolutely thick of dust. There was plaster board debris and screws on top of the mirror unit as well and the bedside tables were dusty and the light switches dirty plus the kettle had loose debris inside of it.
I went to a manager who said she would personally see to the room. On my return she pointed out she had been far too busy so sent "Lottie" instead. The beds had been changed but the room had not been cleaned.
The next morning we went down for breakfast (we had already booked for 9.30am and the manager advised it would be free due to the room issues we had). When we arrived they did not have our booking noted down and tried to split our family up across the restaurant (we were a party of 9). It turns out they actually had us booked in for 10.30am however I'm I'm sure how this is possible when breakfast finishes at 10.30 so we would have missed it waiting until this time. We managed to get sat together as a lovely couple offered to move to the sofa area. We thought great....premier breakfasts are always nice. Not on this occasion! Yes the breakfast area was busy however I expect a chain like this to be able to provide a better service than they did. They chef who had long hair hanging out his cap and a scraggy beard had NO hair net on and NO beard net! There only food available on the cooking was sausage and bacon however the bacon looked like it would still oink in the tray!
