Title says it all really. Walked in with my girlfriend. Got snapped at for walking through archway that I apparently shouldn't have done - appeared to be nothing more than the other half of the restaurant/bar area. Very rude.

We decided to eat here as the view through the window portrayed an air of sophistication, unfortunately this could not have been further from the truth. The service from the maitre de was amateur turning potential customers away as he didn't think the kitchen could cope even though there were empty tables in the dining room. The food served was...

A week or two ago we chose to eat at this hotel -since we were staying at a friends cottage in along the way from the hotel. Standalone Restaurant. Four of us arrived and we were cordially greeted by a nice but somewhat quirky american running front of house. We were arriving at 20:15 and the restaurant was empty -...

Chanced upon this lovely hotel via LateRooms or similar... Wanted a short notice night away with some friends to celebrate a birthday and we couldn't have been happier. Rooms were clean and very comfortable and the staff most helpful and welcoming. Food was superb, in particular the local Venison fillet special which I enjoyed immensely with some good wine from...

It was truly a wonderful surprise -...

Value for money cannot be faulted. It is a Hotel with character and part of the charm is its decor. Thanks to all who...

We were delighted, Porlock is beautiful and quaint, people are lovely and friendly, and our short break was made even better by staying at the Lorna Doone Hotel. Clean, comfortable and the food very good. A big thank you to the owner and staff for being so welcoming and...
