Popped in to use the bar for a swift pint while Chinese was being prepared from local takeaway. Never again. Whole bar area was old and tired and didn't look like anyone had cleaned it for a while. The kind of establishment where you wipe your feet on the way out.

No longer serving food when we visited earlier this year - didn't look inviting and bar person came outside for a cigarette. When I asked about menu and serving times she said no longer serving food :(

Stayed here for one night to break our journey. The welcome was friendly and the breakfast adequate - but - the room hadn't been prepared or cleaned properly. There were only two medium / small towels, only a used soap bar in the bathroom along with an empty bottle of shampoo, spiders webs on the bedside light and around the...

Following a poor experience at the London Inn, we ended up in the West Somerset. What a contrast, warm friendly welcome, helpful staff and a lovely Sunday lunch. Yes a bit rough round the edges but when the food is good and the welcome is excellent, who cares!! Good food good value - thank you.

We wanted a basic, small portion pub lunch at a reasonable price. What we had was a delicious home made meal, freshly cooked and served. The batter (for our fish) had just been made and was brilliant (can you call batter brilliant?) Well we thoroughly enjoyed it so went back for the Thursday carvery and we were not disappointed. We...

Three of us enjoyed a lovely supper prepared by the new cooks at the West Somerset Hotel. Portions were large and the food was tasty and obviously cooked with love! One slight problem was the wine which only came in tiny bottles from the bar...we got round this by buying a bottle of nice wine from the good old Co...
