I was visiting Somerset on a photography workshop and was recommended this place by the photographer. Anna and her partner take great pride in welcoming their guests and I felt truly at ease in this beautiful country cottage. The garden is stunning and would be fantastic in the summer. Breakfast was wonderful and had a great selection for a B&B. The B&B is decorated in keeping with the local steam train tourism, which wasn't to my specific taste, but went well with the general vibe of the building. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Another work related review... Usually coach drivers get the worst rooms going, not in this B&B, I was in the EXMOOR room, window faced the garden, lovely garden, although just a small hamlet with very few buildings the road is quite busy, as a field study centre is just a short distance away, which is were the group I had brought were staying, Anna and Michael were fantastic hosts, and the other guests were regulars, on arrival obviously filled out a registration form, and there was also another form with what you would like for breakfast and what time you would like breakfast, everything you could possibly want was on that list, Anna asked if I had to go out early at any point so she could ensure I was fed before I left, one of the guest was going early fishing, so he had a good brekkie before he left, the room was bright and clean, and had tea, coffee, chocolate in abundance, and biccies, which were replenished every day, on-suite had loo wash basin and a shower, with dove handwash at the sink and dove showergel in the shower, no shampoo though, the only thing I didn't like was the shower had a curtain across the entrance, rather than as door, but it was a good shower water pressure wise, so that didn't really matter, it is an old house, and was furnished with antique furniture so decor was very much in keeping with the building, I would recommend this B&B if you want a very peaceful nights sleep, there are no street lights to intrude into your dreams, and if you want to explore the steam railway it is perfectly positioned for many stations, although there is not a pub in the 'village, the is one in Monksilver, about a mile away, I walked it across the fields on a foot path, word of warning if you do footpaths... the soil is red, and stains clothes, so watch bottoms of track suits.

I stayed here earlier this month for business and will definitely be returning for a holiday. The rooms are homely with a comfortable bed, hot powerful shower and everything else you could ask for. The breakfast was delicious and it was lovely to try the home made jams and eggs from the neighbours chickens! Anna and Michael couldn't be more helpful throughout my stay, particularly in finding and booking me in for dinner at the local pub - The Notley Arms which was also lovely.

We would not hesitate to recommend Anna and Michael and their lovely home and hospitality. All the reviews give testament to this and ours will confirm that this is one of the best we've stayed at. The house is a lovely Victorian one and full of warm charm. Our room (Brendon) was spotless, roomy and very comfortable especially the bed. Breakfast is a highlight with home-made marmalade and jams, fresh fruit served with yoghurt and honey and your full-English cooked just as you like it. Anna and Michael are on hand to help with information re local walks and places to visit. It would be a perfect place to escape for a few days, to break a long journey or, use to explore the West Country. Dunster Caslte and the coast are very close and there are pubs and restaurants nearby to choose from. A lovely stay!
