Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I stayed on night while on our walk along the Coleridge Way. The accomodationgs were perfect for us. The restaurant we'd booked for dinner was only 2 blocks away. Great shower/bathroom after a long day hiking. Next morning's breakfast was perfect and Liz made us 2 sack lunchs for our day.

Impossible to find fault with this lovely hotel. The room was perfect with everything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Likewise, the en suite bathroom had lovely soft towels and toiletries. There was a great choice for breakfast. Everyone was friendly and the rooms were spotless. Ideal for exploring the Dunster/Minehead area, or the heritage railway.

Family and friends stayed at The White House for a wedding at Crowcombe Court. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. Rooms were spotless and food delicious. What makes it so special is the care and attention from all the staff who go the extra mile to give you a great stay. I would highly recommend The White House.

This Hotel was a very old building, We had scaffolding up at our window, although you could see out of them. I think some things need to be upgraded like new taps and toilet flush. The bed was comfy, pillows not so. The food was lovely hot and tasty, so would definitely recommend it.

I don't normally write reviews but whenever I do it's usually because I'm upset with something. This is not one of those times. I'm very happy with the level of service I recieved. The room was clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was great. All in all I can't fault my stay. I will definitely stay there again.

Stayed for 2 nights bed & breakfast whilst viewing local properties for sale. A very friendly welcome upon arrival and throughout my entire stay - and what a breakfast - piping hot with fantastic "real" sausages! Highly recommended, and will happily stay again when in the area.

We are local to the area. We selected the White House for an evening meal for a special occasion. Initial impressions were good: a characterful well maintained clean hotel and a good welcome. We were shown to the bar for drinks then to the dining room: we had pre-ordered our meals as the hotel attempts to reduce waste, an initiative we very much approve of. Starters were carefully presented and flavours good. Mains were even better: a real attempt at fine dining dishes, almost faultless and one of the few occasions we have declined any further sauces as we felt the dishes needed to 'speak for themselves'! Desserts, which on this occasion were on the house, were also well presented and not overly sweet. The wine list was small but well balanced (as is the menu) and overall value was good: worth paying for food of this standard. Service was polite and attentive.
