We would recommend this fab little hotel in Somerset for a short break. The staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. In the strange Covid 19 days we felt very safe with all the precautions put in place by the hotel.
Breakfast was superb with a good selection of full English or continental. Evening meals also great in the restaurant. Good menu will cover most dinners.
Room was well furnished with a comfortable bed, plenty of tea and coffee and shower was hot and very powerful.
For a good cream tea visit Whortleberry tea rooms in Porlock
Plus good gift shop in Porlock called Art and Things
Porlock toll road well worth spending £3 on breathtaking views. And keep going onto Porlock hill.

The White House is a Homely family run hotel and restaurant set in a wonderful warm listed building . We were initially drawn to the fact that it also offers dog friendly accommodation. Booking for news years eve dinner, we were extremely happy with the exceptional food which simply just kept coming! One of the family owners is a forces veteran who manages his front of house with precision fairness and care . We will be back

We stayed for 1 night and met a member of family for dinner, the food was very nice with generous portions. I had char grilled halloumi, pork belly and chocolate fudge cake , all very well cooked and a reasonable price. The room had everything we needed, fluffy towels, crisp white bed linen, a tea tray with cookies, Very reasonable price too. would stay again if visiting family in Williton. Free offstreet parking.

Went on a short break to Somerset, luckily we chose this hotel, the room we had was in the courtyard was fully equipped and had a very modern bathroom, the bed was large by English standards, there is also ample free parking, the breakfast which due to Covid had to be booked the day before, breakfast is any time between 8 o clock and 10 o clock, is plentiful and freshly cooked. As much toast and tea as needed. The staff are all helpful and very customer focused. The bar is well stocked.
The jewel in this establishment is the restaurant, while we were there we met up with friends and the six of us all agreed the meal was one of the best we have had. It was well cooked, and presented, the menu had a few unusual items which made a change from the normal steak, chicken, burgers, pies etc. If we are ever in the area again this will be our first port of call
Thanks to all

We were apprehensive about staying away from home for the first time in two years. Our stay here was most enjoyable and relaxing. We felt ' cared for' with the hand sanitizer visible at various locations around the hotel and the tables socially distanced. The staff were polite and attentive, food delicious and well presented: accommodation clean welcoming and vey comfortable. The hotel is well situated for visiting the north Somerset /Devon coast. All in all an experience to treasure. Thanks to all that made this possible

Went for a birthday meal here expecting great service and great food, was unpleasantly surprised when our booking time had not been amended after ringing up and it being confirmed. We then compromised on our seating area, which was fine, until we had to wait 30 mins to get the attention of a waiter for a drinks order. Then our food arrived, our steak’s all very rare and cold. We were told they were med-rare.. we weren’t even given the opportunity to choose how we liked our steak. Then we had a long wait AGAIN, to return the steaks, at this point we had to go and find someone to complain to. They apologised, gave us all a free drink and another even longer wait for better cooked steaks, with our original meals still sat on the table. Two of our guests had now finished their food a while ago. The bartender had told us we wouldn’t be charged for our steaks, but what he meant was that we wouldn’t be charged for our returned steaks (so usually customers pay for meals they aren’t happy with on top of replacement meals?). When our replacement steaks arrived, they were cooked much better, yet they were very fatty and the chips were undercooked. We just sat and ate what we could so we could leave.. and yet again we had another long wait for the bill. We questioned the steaks that were on our bill after being told we wouldn’t be charged, the bar man put his hands on the table and leaned over, and bluntly told us ‘Well you ate it didn’t you’.
Andreos was the name of our server, we have heard great reviews of his service, but tonight was not his best. Several other customers had spoken to us during our time at the White House and also weren’t happy with the waiting times due to walk-in’s being seated and fed before booked in reservations and guests staying at the Hotel. All we wanted was a pleasant meal with friends and we felt very unwelcome and dissatisfied with our food and the service.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Firstly, we are sincerely sorry that you did not enjoy your experience at our restaurant. Our goal is to offer only the best food and service to each and every guest. We receive great feedback from the vast majority of our customers and indeed, since became owners in 2019, your review is the first one that is below 'Very Good'. On the evening that you were here we had a number of issues which meant that service was slower than usual. Some of these were our fault and some were out of our control. This is not unheard of in our industry and we feel like we made every effort at the time to understand and rectify any complaints. We do not want to get into a 'he said, she said' argument about details but, after speaking with our staff members and other hotel guests who were present at the time, recollections differ somewhat from those which you have described in your review. We receive many positive comments about our colleague Andreas, overwhelmingly to praise his hard work, customer service skills and professionalism. We're sorry that you weren't happy with his service that evening but, as with most people, he tends to perform at his best when treated with respect and good manners.

We chose this hotel as the reviews were excellent and we we not disappointed. We were greeted by the owner Liz and her dancing daughter. We were staying in room 5. Four poster bed with views of the court yard. Fab room and really comfortable. We had an evening meal in the bar as there was a Burns Night celebration in the restaurant. We had delicious Camembert and Pate followed with lamb chops and sea bass. The food is excellent. Can’t fault it. Also desserts made by the Lizs mum I would say book a table as the restaurant is really popular Great ciders and beers behind the bar with a good wine selection.
We slept really well as Its so peaceful. Breakfast was lush. Good selection of fruit and cereal Highly recommend the full English as it’s lush.
This hotel is excellent for walkers and bikers. Also dog friendly as they have rooms in the court yard. Excellent location for Minehead and all surrounding towns and sights.
Its a family run hotel. There so friendly and kind and the whole family are so helpful It’s spotless and it offers you everything. It’s a must. Just book it.

Recently taken over and a family concern, this is a must stay. We stayed here for a friend's 50th party and the small party was held here too. Nothing was too much trouble. The buffet at the party was a considerable step up from the usual and the breakfast this morning was particularly well sourced and well cooked. Rooms are spacious and airy and well designed. Good parking. Well worth the money.

We had a night away for our wedding anniversary and took our 18 month old grandson, from the minute we walked through the door to the minute we left nothing was too much trouble. We were shown up to our room by a lovely lady who made us feel really welcome, the room was spacious, clean and tidy, and the king size bed was so comfortable. Tea and coffee was provided along with biscuits and chocolates which my grandson enjoyed. We were booked in the restaurant for our evening meal, the service was excellent and the food was beautiful. We only had a short wait for the food to be brought out and we could not find fault with any aspect of it, even our fussy grandson cleared his plate. Breakfast the following morning was cereal, toast yoghurt, selection of fruit juices and hot drinks, followed by a full English, that was freshly cooked. I can honestly say we could not find fault with anything during our stay, and thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.

Stayed here before a friend's wedding and the lady on reception helped us with all our requests. We couldn't see how to book breakfast online but she was helpful in explaining we could have breakfast and for the same price as online booking. The bar was decently priced too. Friendly and atentive staff which made us feel welcome. Great room for the price paid too, would definitely stay again.
