This is the friendliest and most customer focused Premier Inn I have EVER stayed in thanks to Georgie and Nico. The room and furniture are as you would expect from any other hotel in the chain.
Breakfast is served in the Beefeater next door so take an umbrella. Also, if you use the toaster, you will need a good book to read🙂
The boiler had broken down when I visited Beefeater but the staff were friendly and efficient.

Situated nice and close to the A38 this hotel is ideal for visiting both local attractions and places further afield. The Beefeater next door offers good food, including breakfast, and is well worth using. Morrisons is just across the road and ca be walked to in a few minutes but use the ideally situated pedestrian crossing at the lights.

Plenty of parking and very good disabled facilities.

The staff were lovely and very chatty and friendly.

The rooms our group had were clean and well presented. None of us could find fault and when a matter was raised it dealt with quickly.

Overall very very good and our stay here enhanced our stay in Burton upon Trent.

Average hotel, average location, decent value for money for what you get.
Check in was quick as we didn’t arrive till 5:30ish so there wasn’t a queue so not sure if there would be one at 3pm, however since leaving I have seen that you can pay an extra £10 for earlier check in (we would have definitely taken advantage of this if we knew about it).
Rooms were clean and we had a family room which was a great size, especially when travelling with a young baby. Beds were comfortable, a cot bed was provided but luckily we had brought our own as I’m not sure my baby would have enjoyed sleeping on what seemed very uncomfortable!
The only problems with the room we had was there was no toilet roll (luckily we brought some of our own) and the plug was stuck in the sink hole so we had to brush our teeth in the bath (not ideal) we were visiting family in Burton and so didn’t get back till 11pm so would have been inconvenient to alert a staff member about these problems at this time as we had a very tired baby.
Other than those 2 problems, the hotel stay was good and the 12pm checkout was great.
Breakfast was a big disappointment, especially considering that we paid nearly £20 extra for 2 of us to have breakfast it wasn’t nearly worth that at all. We were booked in to eat at 10:30 and breakfast finished at 11, considering this, we thought they would continue to put out fresh breakfast until this time. There was hardly any cooked breakfast left, a few sausages, uncooked bacon, 2 hash browns and a few beans. No white bread out either. There was no plates so had to hunt for a member of staff as they didn’t seem to be anywhere near the breakfast area. Glasses were dirty and put upside down to dry but were put on a dirty tray. The limited breakfast I did have was good and nothing was cold. Just would have been better to have more of a choice and for the cooked breakfast to seem a bit more fresh and not like it had been sat under the lights all morning.
Overall an average stay, price was good until having to pay an extra £20 for a disappointing breakfast.

myself,Husband and 2 children booked this accommodation as a night away before we visited Alton Towers for my sons birthday

On arrival the lady on reception told my husband she needed to check our room was ready this was at 3pm.(Turns out this lady was the manager)

She informed us that it wasn't ready yet but would move some bookings around and went off to check another room.

We were informed that a checker needed to confirm the room was safe and clean with as this was part of the extra cleaning procedures due to the covid .

The checker was finally contacted and he said the room had been checked and was fine.

I thought great a nice safe clean room to stay in How wrong was I.

The head board was thick in dust my husband went yo make us a drink the class was dirty so off he went to reception.

We said we would pop out so they could have the room to sort the issues out on our arrival back we asked the manager has the room been sorted "yes all done for you" No it hadn't.

On further inspection of the room I found the toilet had feaces in it, the bath had hairs, the bath casing was dirty, the bin dusty with hairs, the toilet paper dispenser dusty and door frames in bathroom dirty . The window ledge in the bedroom area had hair and dirt on it.

The Hotel had offered us a full refund on breakfast and our night. We asked for the room to be cleaned and was given a room to sit in the cleaners came and said its been done after 10 minutes the manager was waiting for us and much to my discussed she ended up getting the cleaning resources and redoing the room again the cleaners had still left hairs and dust.

The Beefeater next door is where we ate our evening meal and breakfast the staff were friendly and followed safety procedures in place. There is a smaller limited menu but what we had was enjoyed by us all. It being my sons birthday our waitress made a special effort to write Happy birthday on his pudding plate.

Breakfast was ordered and brought to the table again staff friendly and working hard and nothing was too much bother.

This hotel is located close to the motorway and there was a Morriston oppersite it.

I can understand those who use this one to visit Alton Towers liking its location and ease to get in and out of by car, but if you are using it to visit Burton, don’t be fooled by the central tag. It’s a good 25 minute walk from Burton train station or a £5 to £7 taxi fare.
It’s a standard fit Premier Inn over three floors ( fortunately with lift) , with a Beefeater next door acting as the restaurant facilities.
We had a room on the third floor facing the Morrisons side and it was perfectly fine for a two night stay. Very quiet for us with next to no traffic noise and although the windows do not open, the air conditioning unit was quiet and efficient.
The room was clean on our arrival but Premier Inn are still hiding behind Covid as an excuse not to service the rooms during the stay, which frankly in October 2022 doesn’t wash anymore and I would definitely think twice about using them for anything longer than a couple of nights.
Very good service levels from the reception staff and replacement teas, coffees, towels e.t.c we’re available from there.
If you have a fine weather day and fancy a walk along the Trent into town then there is a footpath that goes round the back of the Morrisons and will take you in the direction of the Riverside Pub via Clays Lane. From here you can pick up the footpath along the riverbank , along the edge of the greens of Branston Golf and Country Club all the way to Stapenhill Gardens and the Washlands Circular. The golf club don’t make it obvious and ignore the signs to stay to the gravel paths, but stick to the river and the small wooden posts as this is a public right of way and it’s a lovely walk on this section of the Trent.

We have stayed here a few times before so expected a good time. We were put in a room in the original part of the building. This overlooked the car park and as I would realise later the air conditioning units. The room itself was fine but on closer inspection I noticed toe nail clippings under the bed so not cleaned that well. At least 4 times during our stay I had to take the key card back as it stopped working.
Our first night and the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, the bed rolled together in the middle and the hum of the air conditioning units kept me awake.
On our second day we got back to the room and it felt cold. I went to reception and they manually switched it on. Coming back later the room was like a sauna and the control panel would not switch the heating off. Another visit to reception and they once again overode the system. The control panel in the room never worked for the rest of our stay.
As cleaning is no longer done unless you ask, on the second day I asked for cleaning the next day as the towels were very wet, no towel rail to dry on, and the bins were getting full. We left at 9am the next day but when we returned a few hours later we were told they could not clean as the room needs to be empty. I explained we had been out all morning. They did send someone who came quickly and changed the towels and emptied the bins whilst we waited in the corridor.
My other issue is due to the increasing restrictions we had to wear a mask whilst in the hotel which we didn't have a problem with. My problem is that most of our stay the reception staff did not wear a mask. Not very responsible.
Would we stay here again when we go back to see our Son. Probably not. Shame as we usually enjoyed staying there.

Brilliant hotel and staff
We stayed as a family of four over 2 rooms just before Halloween. The hotel was decorated and sweets and treats were given out to kids. Although we had a family room backing onto the lift any noise stopped after about 9pm. The room however was roasting and the fan useless… however I would definitely come back.
Car parking was great plenty of spaces and the room was spotless

We stayed here for a few days to attend a wedding. The hotel was in a great location and perfect for our needs. The housekeeping staff were approachable for extra items we needed (towels and coffee!!), there is a Morrisons and Costa over the road for snacks, and several restaurants around if needed but we met with friends in town and they arranged dinner. My key deactivated every day (maybe because I kept it with my phone) but it was easy enough to get it reactivated again in reception. There was no road noise and the odd sound of children's footsteps but nothing that disturbed our sleep. Burton was a 5-8 minute drive depending on what you needed. Our only issue was the slow WiFi and we seemed to be in a 3 data deadspot, we wasn't in the room long enough to pay the £5 for Ultimate WiFi - but I would happily stay here again despite that.

Stayed at Burton on Trent Central for a couple of days.
Welcomed by friendly staff I think they were called Helen and Sophie.
The room was was very clean with a walk in shower and a large TV which made my stay better.
There's a Beefeater restaurant with more friendly welcoming staff
The food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Breakfast was also at the Beefeater to which that day it was a buffet service.
Great service by Michelle and the food was cooked by kerryanne.
Back at the hotel, if I needed any extra tea, coffee, sugar and extra towels all I had to do was ask at reception to which they were more than happy to supply.
There is a Morrisons just across the road which stays open till ten which is handy .
I look forward to my next stay at Burton on Trent Central 😁

Whilst bedding appeared clean, the room itself had dirt on the walls where tea/coffee had been splashed, and tiles in bathroom covered in soap where soap dispenser had been overfilled. Unable to reduce temperature in room. Psid for unlimited full breakfast and continental breakfast had run out by 10am

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, General Manager at Premier Inn Burton On Trent Central hotel
Responded 20 May 2022
Hello, Thank you taking the time to share your review. We’re very sorry that you were left disappointed by the cleanliness standards in your room on arrival and issues with the air conditioning, as well as facing problems with breakfast. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams has always been incredibly important to us and everyone in our hotels should rightly expect a safe, clean and protected environment. We apologise you found your room to not be up to the high standard we would expect on this occasion. We have ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with our Housekeeping and Breakfast teams to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Moving forward, our Reception team are on hand 24/7 and so we would advise speaking with the team as soon as any issues arise to help resolve this whilst you're still in-house. Again, our sincere apologies and thank you for taking the time to contact us. We hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay moving forward. Kind regards, Lauren

I'm not sure, you'd have to call the hotel direct or reservations. To be honest, I wouldn't stay at this particular location, infact any Premier Inn as their Good Nivht Sleep Guarantee is a joke. I made a complaint to HO about the outrageous behaviour of wedding guests staying the same night as us in July, and even H, the Manager agreed it was unacceptable yet my complaint was simply dismissed. Shocking customer service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
