We stayed for one night and at £95.00 was very overpriced. When we arrived the heating hadn't been on in the room and took an age to come through. The hot water was warm at best. There was only a bath and no shower with just a towel rail to heat what was a large bathroom. There were two sinks...

I recently tried something new! Tapas and tarot! Well organised evening and very friendly. The tapas was freshly made, lovely and hot, i had 3 dishes and it was just about right for me as im not a big eater so tapas is perfect as it means room for dessert. I will return another time soon to try the rest...

We asked for a quiet room but as we entered the hotel one of the staff informed us of a party that might go on until 11.30- 11.45, had we been told earlier we might have booked alsewhere. The party noise wasn't as bad as the vent from the kitchen which roared away until nearly midnight. No shower though there...

Fabulous venue, central and great for small parties. Tapas restaurant wonderful. Events person not available after booking, she didn't return calls/emails & never around. Assistant manager attentative & staff great on night. Food good but poor desserts, over priced buffet with hidden costly extra's. Rooms poor for price, inadequate bathroom, held hand shower. Standards appear to have dropped over the...

In a lovely location and a lovely building, I stayed here years ago when it was the Town House and it was lovely. Sadly today not the same, our room was ok but noisy in the front of the building. The bathroom was a disappointment as there was no shower other than a handheld attachment to the bath. The worst...

My Wife and I stayed here on the night of our wedding. The best part of this place is the staff. They were lovely and very helpful. They even went to the liberty of dropping off the room key to us at our wedding reception. On arrival we were greeted by the staff who offered us drinks in the bar....

What a fabulous place with delightful outdoor space, great breakfast, a good location to discover Leek itself on foot. Great room, but sadly just a bath, no shower. Downside sadly of this unique building was lack of hot water & lack of sleep due to the road noise, such a shame. Very helpful friendly staff providing a warm inviting atmosphere.

We had a lovely welcome on arrival and our weekend break was perfect. The position of The Silken Strand is perfect for visiting Leek. We ate at their restaurant twice. The food was excellent. Beautiful cocktails. The chef was also a friendly chap and ready to engage with the guests. All the guests were ready to talk and exchange information...
